The life, teachings, example, death, resurrection of our Lord...a depth charge of transformation! It is the Gospel that transforms one soul at a time. In Christ, we can become obedient without law, and the Temple made without hands, both individually and together. Through Christ the Last Adam, we are restored to right relationship with God, and our original vocation to look after His creation, and to reflect His image back to Him in worship (Dan. 7:10b). And yet, we are still in the middle of the story, aren't we? There is the "now" and the "not yet", as our greatest hope isn't heaven-when-we-die (a temporary stopping-off place before the end). It is the new heaven and the new earth joined together, as Anglican theologian N.T. Wright has rightfully pointed out. Our hope the great Resurrection of the dead. It is not the destruction of creation, but all things made new. When the King returns to take up His throne, He will make all things right. Justice. Mercy. All sorrows ceasing. It is the time when death itself, the final foe, will been destroyed.
And I feel like that in listening to the unfolding genicide in Gaza- and Lebanon's destruction too. Is that old world being brought into the cross, day by day.
Let us implore God the Creator, that His Most High Son may, in spite of us, and always in His Law, have brothers among us who can call Him Lord. We discover ourselves unjust with our supplication, since the Greatness and Humility of those who can call our Savior, Lord, is more than beneficial and Exemplary Let us implore our Savior that, in spite of us, and always in the Law of His Father, there may be among us many more and many better ones who can call the Eternal Present Father, God the Creator, Father of God Christ, and Father of all Holy proven creature, worthy of HIM
"A lost soul found at the edge of Divinity A distant call, its echo, Ukrinity When she transcended she called her friend Lord; this moment is written with Odin's pen A rune risen among the steppes of a Cossack's trail Love and strength summoned in a hail, Unveil"
Hello, always pray for those incredible impacts through volunteer work, in opening doors to various opportunities. That means you don't have to pay them back over time as their assurance and maintenance of their engine's performance is a milestone. 🪑
Every time I hear preaching about the "end times," I think about my stepdad. He speaks like he's more afraid than he needs to be. I don't want him to be afraid of his own death. I'm the oldest child in our family. When he gets scared, it makes me feel scared. That's why I appreciate it when you preach about it, Bishop Barron.
Politics is an irrelevant nonsense in the greater scheme of God's creation. Those who's life becomes obsessed with politics or personal justice or achievement or satisfaction of ego are all deranged and blind. You are giving away your life force and spiritual essence to things that are useless and temporary. There's nothing in this world that can rescue us from our fallen state in sin. If we can't have the humility to admit to sin and ask God for forgiveness, we don't deserve eternal life because denial of God is nothing but hell. Christ IS the Way, the Truth and the Life. Reject this at your own peril.
Thank you for unpacking the old and the new brilliantly
God bless you Bishop
