It resets every day, so I made it a point of shaking every tree in my island everyday lol. ALSO, if your Nook Miles island has non-fruit trees, you get ONE item per island!! So if you get any island besides All-fruit and Bamboo islands, shake those trees!!!!

Two others tricks: 1. When you dig a hole instead of pressing A to fill it back up with dirt , press Y and your character will use their feet to cover it this stops your tools from breaking quickly 2. If one of your islanders has fleas bouncing of their head, use a net and wack in on them and you will be able to catch the fleas plus!!! The islander will be very grateful! :)
Shovels endurance is only used up if you're digging up something or hitting something. If it's a space with nothing or filling in nothing it actually doesn't use up anything

My tip is just to shake them while standing dead center to the tree with a net equipped. Your character will automatically turn to face the wasp nest and you only need to mash A to catch the wasp.

The process of catching a scorpion is somewhat complicated. You'll need to hold the A button to walk slowly with your net up, but only advance on the scorpion when its facing away. The scorpion will ultimately corner itself and you will be able to get close enough to net it. There are a ton of hints for nook mile islands, particularly the "money island" (5-6 money rocks on an island that's at first unreachable). But that's a whole other video.

I tried to move my mailbox, but the game wouldn't let me pick it up. Do I have to be at a certain point in the game? Or am I just dumb XD? I just unlocked the Town Hall.
the "no balloons when online" thing is not true. I've had my gates open all morning and got balloon after balloon practically lining up. Now, I don't know how it is when someone's actually visiting your island, but if you just have your gates open with nobody around, balloons will spawn, and I'm fairly certain about wasps as well.

I was only getting one a day and then I actually got my feng shui in order and I started getting 2 of them.

You might want to use flimsy axes instead of upgraded ones to unlock the golden axe which requires you to break 100 axes to get the recipe.

They're just not super common. I play from probably 9-12 pm for the past 9 days. Only seen like 5 tarantulas. And maybe like 10 wasps.
