    In this tutorial I explain the different types of platform adhesion slicer options and how each one effects the first layer of the print. Specifically I talk about Skirt , Brim , and Raft.
    I HIGHLY recommend using BOROSILICATE GLASS and a THERMAL SILICONE PAD for the best bed adhesion:
    Borosilicate Glass: amzn.to/2okGGyb
    Thermal Silicone Pad: amzn.to/2mEVwTN

      Right!?! I've been trying to figure out the difference between the types and boom right at the start I could see what I needed! I plan to watch the rest later to learn why you would want a skirt or a brim but at least for right now I'm not wasting materials trying to figure it out.

    Thanks for the informative video! I was misinformed - someone told me that printing with a raft helps to remove the print with greater ease. I got my Ender 3 in the mail yesterday and have run a few prints through it, including an 11 hour Otyugh from DnD. However, now I have a large (and skinny) raft firmly adhered to my bed. Any tips on cleaning it off?

      If its a glass bed id use a metal paint scrapper

    what about samples? Any body can quickly deduce this by looking at Cura (plus there is explanation on cura anyway)

    What is cura version 15? I have the latest Cura version 4 from their website. I was looking at a 2nd printer called the Predator from Anycubic. I noticed the predator isn't in the printer selection for the latest cura. I read more into it and the predator comes with what people are calling a older version of Cura. Cura Version 15.
    How the F is Version 15 older? And why is the newest version on their website version 4?
    If anyone can clear this up that would be awesome. I guess also if i bought the predator I'd be stuck with that version of Cura that comes with it forever?

    • @respond_code3
      @respond_code3 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@the3dprintzone you are using Cura 15. It's version 15.x.x on the top left corner of your screen.
      Mine is the latest version of their website version 4.x.x
      So I'm just confused as to why I heard the anycubic Predator comes with a older version of cura 15.x.x..... But yet the newest version is only on version. 4.x.x
      Your TH-cam video is the first time I saw the 15 version of cura.
      Currently have a Ender 3. Just got it a couple weeks ago and really got use to the 4.x.x Cura. In mine if I select no plate adhesion it doesn't default to a skirt. It won't do one period. Yours it looks like you are stuck with at least a skirt. So i know that's one difference. But not sure what the others are.
      That would be awesome if can configure a round build plate like the predator with my cura. Didn't realize I could add custom set up. Thanks man.

  • @batyrenko
    @batyrenko 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Brim is not extra layers, it's the extra lines around your object. it's on the first layer.
