Robbed & Assaulted: I was Attacked at Southern Cross Station in Melbourne!

- I've received a lot of messages from you regarding what happened, if I’m okay, and how my eye is looking. So, I decided to provide an update to you all.
Approximately three weeks ago, on 15 June, I was at Southern Cross Station in Melbourne. It was a Saturday morning. I bought a return V/Line ticket to Albury, planning to film a video of the standard gauge VLocity train. I arrived at the station at 5:48 a.m. after catching a train from South Yarra to Southern Cross. I then proceeded to one of the overpasses near platform 10 and started filming. It was around 5:50 a.m. There was a gap with no trains at the station, and I was pretty much the only one there, so I easily became a target...

TH-cam restricted this video for violating community guidelines due to showing blood and violent acts. To comply, I had to blur some images in the second half of the video. Apologies for the bad viewing experience.
@@RoryDing That's even worse...
Not to worry - the viewing experience was EDUCATIONAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is infuriating that society should have to contend with these sorts of THUGS roaming about like rabid dogs while Woke Radicals and their LIE-beral allies seek to excuse the thugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The problems you are having ARE NO WORSE than those in any other western democracy with a high number of Woke and LIE-beral politicians!!!!!!!!!!!
Here in Canada - a new report has been issued revealing that ONE THIRD of all the Cdn murder victims in the last year were killed by PEOPLE OUT ON BAIL for various other violent crimes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yet Cdn LIE-beral;s and their Woke allies have just presented a new report detailing how they want to FURTHER GUT the legal system - by making bail even easier to get and by REDUCING SENTENCES for various crimes such that the prison population WILL BE REDUCED BY THIRTY PERCENT..........................
and of course LIE-berals want to REDUCE POLICE BUDGETS EVEN FURTHER so that thugs of the kind that attacked you can operate more easily here in Canada!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TH-cam had NO respect for the innocent. They don’t give a shit about people. They just care about making money!!!
Glad to see you are recovering well. I got punched in the face by a random thug myself in broad daylight during a normal workday. The man tried to king hit me with no provocation or warning outside the KFC near the Flinders Street Station exit on Elizabeth Street. Police told me it happens all the time apparently. Like yourself I got a nice black eye and my glasses were completely busted. Despite the plethora of cameras in the area and the fact that I am sure the individual was known to the police, no arrests were made. The first policeman actually tried to dissuade me from logging an incident, saying that nothing would happen anyway. I insisted that it be logged, so that at least the statistics show the stark reality and I am pleased to report that during my follow up meeting with a young female officer, I received far more help and empathy. However, I still never heard back from the police on the matter and gave up on justice. The CBD is now for the thugs, druggies and the homeless, I won't go back there for work or socialising unless I absolutely have to. Hope you never have to suffer this indignity again mate. Stay safe.

Hi sorry to hear I can't believe that THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME a couple months ago, IN THE EXACT SAME SPOT!!! except my whole escooter, backpack and items were stolen. I ran after them and confronted one and had to befriend him since he was scared i'll call the cops which i still did.
He was quite young, had long hair, a hoody and seemed 'scabby' as if he had been scratching due to drug use. He then shook my hand, said sorry and told me his name!
He gave back everything except for my phone which i reported to police and still havent got back.
Australia is turning into a 3rd world country. The politicians of both sides do not care about the people. They are controlled by US.
Welcome to US culture.
You actually got his face on camera. Why blur his face, is there a reason you’re protecting his identity, because he doesn’t deserve it bro
The way Australian police and law handle teenage criminals is a joke. Those teenagers need more "education".
Another lesson from this incident is to never show your belongings to strangers if they ask. They have no right to make such a request. If they insist, ask them to call the police.
All train stations, especially major ones, are not safe during off-peak periods. Be cautious and prepared to take action if you need to go there.
Yeah no my mother has been pretty guarded of me even remaining in the CBD or around these days, as I do not have a travel partner and she's seen way too many of similar incidents on the internet.
As someone who has police officers in the family, I can tell you they are so frustrated by the legal process these days in Victoria. Don't think for a minute officers want offenders on the streets again five minutes later just so they have to deal with them again.
@@mbwyatt1978 I am not blaming police officers, they just do what they can do. I mean the law is almost useless when handling teenage criminal which doesn't give enough power to police officers to deter.
Agreed or even stupidly, never leave them unattended!!!! I did for 5 minutes in that exact same spot and they were stolen by these same group of youth!!.....

Did the police arrest the criminals?
The call from police stating that they will arrest the criminals soon says nothing.
As a teenager in Australia, I'm genuinely scared by the level of violence perpetrated by other teenagers my age. It's deeply concerning for the future of our country. It's appalling that there are often no police or security nearby to seek refuge at train stations, and the fact that such criminal acts by teenagers aren't taken seriously is truly disgusting. I wish you the best recovery and hope those malakas are caught. 🙌
Probably worse some places!
Same here
It's not just a teenagers who are criminals.. But atleast back in those days people were more respectful and the law was more strict..
Wishing you a speedy recovery. Sorry to hear that.
Thank you so much for your support! I have recovered and will be a lot more vigilant in the future. 😊
The teenage crime is Melbourne is getting out of hand, only a matter of time these criminals turn into murderers, as the criminal justice system in Victoria is completely broken and all they would get is a slap on the wrist and basically learn that there is no consequence to their criminality.
Even in Brissy
The whole of australia aye
yeh msl
Typical whiteoid conservative view, always gotta blame a scapegoat
yep remember those teens who stole a car, crashed into and killed a guy adn got bailed? so dumb
get me guess, after they arrested him, the court will grant him bail, then sentence him with 100 hours of community service? :)
100%. Allen's government just relaxed bail laws making it even easier for this excrement to get back out on the streets
100 hours? Come on mate, the judicial system isn't that harsh 🙄.
Don't forget reoffending while on bail with no repercussions.
not even that if there minors
THEY DON'T EVEN BOTHER LOOKING FOR CRIMINALS ANY MORE ARE YOU KIDDING ME - SOMEONE HIT AND RUN IN FRONT OF THE POLICE STATION BUILDING NEXT TO THE SOUTHERN CROSS STATION, THEY DIDN'T EVEN GET BACK TO ME AFTER THE REPORT !!!!!
Mate, so sorry you went through that awful situation. For the future: if someone comes up to you when you're alone and asks for the time, a light, a smoke or anything - get the hell out of there because nothing good is going to happen (to you) and always remember: They're NEVER EVER alone.
you got a smoke mate? just wanna know the time
While not blaming the victim, I agree that this attack was very preventable. A sketchy looking bloke in a cap and hoodie asking to see your property? Just a fair whack of naivete here, unfortunately.
Sadly, he'll be hardened by this experience, and will go through life having to be a little more suspicious of strangers. But ultimately, that's how we all need to live, especially in places we're not super familiar with.
if hes asking alot of people around you the sams thing its alright cos prolly just a regular hobo
@@Noacuracy Dude, don't wait to find out, it happened to me many years back, first l was asked the time, then surrounded, kicked to the ground by 4-6 thugs and then while on the ground bleeding and having the daylights kicked out of me, they checked the back pockets of my jeans. NOT a nice experience and one l never want to go through again.
@@scottnewton9619that's unfortunate to hear mate. Following an experience like that I can understand where you're coming from but I can also understand where the person you replied to is coming from. Thankfully, Australia is still an extremely safe country, despite the doom fap narrative the media love to project upon society. For every instance that occurs between strangers daily, yours and this content creator's experience is the event that occurs in the percentages of a percent case.
It's disgusting, weak and morally reprehensible behaviour, absolutely! But in life we all have a time of genuine need via a stranger, and if we all behaved in the manner you're suggesting, society and the life experience on the whole, will be the one worse of because of it.
Please don't think I'm dismissing, or downplaying your personal reaction following your physical assault and robbery. I've had a similar 'ish' experience but with a knife being pulled on me, thankfully with no physical assault occuring.
What's funny is, its at this very station earlier this year I encountered one of those 'moments' where you feel, 5hit might be about to go 'sideways' here. Call it experience, luck, fate or a even a personal misconception, you may have experienced it yourself, but it's like a sense of darkness completely takes over the atmosphere or something. I quickly realised that hold on...these two think I'm the prey. Immediately in that split second, I took control of the situation and flipped the switch, defusing any ideas these other two had. Even the other bloke I was talking to before and during this happened said, 'that was weird asf man, I don't if they had something planned like a set up or what but that wasn't the norm'. Im just like, 'i know bro, the spider senses went off like an alarm all of a sudden and hence me kinda flicking like a light, who knows 🤷, very strange though".
I'm embarrassed that the city I live in has treated you this way. Our state government continues to deny that there is a problem and our pathetic Judiciary continues to bail offenders. I'm reminded of the words of Ray Shoesmith from the sensational TV series, Mr. Inbetween. He says "these pricks keep getting away with this because there are no consequences". Stay safe mate
People were begging for remanding offenders and a chief magistrate flat out said where, the prisons are full. Where do you want to remand them?
@@animefan7424 I pay taxes and follow the law. Its not my job figuring out how to stop these brain rotten kids
It's horrible that happened mate, unusually feel safe when walking in Melbourne (that is compared to Sydney). But there are low life people everywhere that just enjoy preying on people.
Mate, I'm so sorry for this. A bloody disgrace.
You’re sorry for what. You weren’t there tho…

This is horrible. The fact that such a major station can have such things happen goes to show we need 24/7 security. I hope you get well 😢
Neo liberal economy. Profit above all else.
We do have 24 hour security but they can't be everywhere at once. They are too busy throwing junkies out of the toilets.
The place has an ACTUAL police station inside it. There's just an unbelievable amount of people everywhere at all times there. Before it was rebuilt it was a REAL hellhole

I'm an Asian, was attacked years ago in Melbourne, and the police did nothing for me back then. I wish you all the best. Well, the situation I was in was not racism, I believe the attackers were thinking that Asian people are peaceful and reluctant to fight back, that's makes us easy target. Plus since most of us are travelers, so the police won't bother to do their jobs as well.
I'm sorry to hear about that. As a Westerner, I have been verbally abused and mocked in China. Japan was much better, though.
@@user-ed7pu5uj3q What happened in China exactly
@@user-ed7pu5uj3q Yeah, I hear the Chinese don't like whites much at all there. We treat them much better here than they do us. So much so there'll be more of them here than us soon and own most of the real estate too.

I am a Westerner who gets mocked and abused by Chinese in Melbourne, so…..
I am saddened by what happened to you, I fully agree that there should be Police officers present when trains are running. Hopefully this will not deter you from posting more of your excellent travels.
Well said
They can have gangs of myki inspectors seemingly all the time but not have officers at the state's busiest station.

Melbourne city is dangerous. As a tourist I’ve had a knife pulled on me on a tram in broad daylight. No one did anything. Nothing.
Yeah its getting worse year by year it feels. Someone i've done support work for, who uses a wheelchair, has been abused and assaulted while using public transport and just while at cafes etc around Melbourne. No one did anything any of the times. Worst part is, crims get worse, police get more useless, but you can bet that if we whipped out a self defense weapon while being assaulted we would be the ones to get locked up. Infuriating.
I would rather get locked up for that rather then me being victim @@JuniperMe
Rory you travel the world and you give us so much enjoyment.....it's embarrassing that the only time you have to suffer is your home country......mate keep up the good work and don't let this incident effect you......
Rory you are such a good person. I am so sorry to hear of this. We're very glad that there is no permanent damage. Respect, Craig.
God I wish I was there. I got fired up watching this. I would have had no problem jumping in to help you out.
Hey mate, I occasionally travel to Melbourne and am very tall and very strong but I still get scared at Southern Cross stations. The amount of drug addicts and otherwise crazy people means I never travel any of these lines at night. Not worth the risk, Melbourne is becoming a cesspool.
What a disgrace that there was no one there to assist in case of an emergency. Absolutely disgraceful, sorry to hear you had to go through that Rory, everyone deserves to feel safe in Melbourne
They don't, though, as this city is a disaster.
There was hundreds of cops at the free Palestine protests 14 hours before the assault.
Privately run station. Lack of security, no rubbish bins, escalators constantly broken down.
Isn't privatisation wonderful.
If somebody was there, what could thet do - hurt a criminal, and then get arrested ?
@@benjijarmanits not "privatisation", its a completely failed, overly socialist government. Money being bled to keep overpaid public servants on the gravy train.
So upsetting to watch you go through this malicious attack. Glad you have not had any permanent injury to your eye. It’s important you shared this so others can be careful but also to highlight the need for more security and police presence at Southern Cross station. It’s really becoming a dangerous place. Stay safe.
You need to have some martial arts training. Dont cry like baby
This is not the first time something like this has happened at southern cross! I recall a couple years ago where a bunch of young girls attacked 2 other young girls out of nowhere. Teenage violence is getting out of hand in Melbourne! not enough is being done!
This is horrible. I'm so sorry that happened to you, Rory. I hope you are doing okay.
The fact there were no staff, police or any kind of security in the biggest train station in one of the biggest cities in Australia, is DISGRACEFUL!!!! Tourists and commuters use this station frequently not to mention buses to the airport leave from there from very early to very late. There should have been at least some kind of presence there, especially if attacks are a regular occurence.
Don’t worry, the Minister for Men’s Behaviour will sort it all out … 😂🤡😵

Gangs are becoming a big problem in Melbourne. Glad to hear you are ok Rory.
@wasabinator Sydney is slowly catching up to Melbourne. The problem is that the penalties are not severe enough to be a deterrent in both cities.
@@aussiejohn5835 They need to increase the penalties like singapore has to make it safe for everyone
@@aussiejohn5835 Penalties don't stop these things from happening. Need to look at why they happen. Someone desperate and willing to attack a person isn't thinking about whether they'll serve time in prison. Penalties are the easy way to make it look like the government are doing something.
@@raildoestravel The penalty wont stop anything, people still murder people in countries with the death penalty. you need to look at why people are doing this and fix that.
@JustinWatson23 I must disagree to a point because, as a young child, there must always be a penalty for wrongdoing, which is how we learn the difference between right and wrong and as we grow older the penalties differ until we become young adults. The penalties must always fit the crime.
Glad your alright young fella. U just got to be cautious it doesn't happen again. Your life is more important than the iPhone
Rory, I’m so sorry- as I’ve said previously, you’re such a decent and respectful vlogger, and human more generally. In a million years, you don’t deserve such a horrible encounter. Stay strong!
So sorry this happened mate. It's so tiring (as a Victorian here) to watch the news every night and hear another story of 12, 13, 14 etc year olds stealing cars, robbing places, and assaulting people, and then getting released that same night. Hoping you get well.
The wrong types of people breeding out of control.

As an Australian its been fun watching Rory travel Australia by train. Always so informative about all the details from ticket price, to your seat, to the food on order. Then this happens. I hope you recover fast Rory, and i hope you don't let this end your fun in Australia. Its a shame teens turn to crime like this and i wouldn't be surprised if they are addicted to drugs. They need to pay for their next hit somehow and my understanding is drugs in Australia are very expensive.

Sorry to hear this man, I have lived in Melbourne for about 15 years and luckily not had any issues, being out on my own late at night too. Teenagers around here though know they can get away with this shit with little to no consequences.
Glad you're doing okay, good for you sticking up for yourself and not letting him steal your phone, not that it'd matter it's so easy to track phones... And happy to hear the guy was caught, he needs to be kept out of society. You should come to SA, far less likely this would happen here ♥️
Yes this should be a wake up call for security at all open stations.
I'm sorry this happened to you Rory 😢 6am isn't even that early, plenty of people start work before 7am and I'm out and about heading to the pool. I'm glad you are recovering ❤
Luckily no permanent damage to your eyes.. so sorry that it happened. You did the right thing to make a police report so that they can take action on crimes like this that makes the community feel so unsafe.
I worked as a cleaner in that stateroom and me and colleagues felt really unsafe. There were a lot of homeless and crazy people around and bothering us. The police barely did anything for us as they needed to see something explicit to take action so we just had to take care of our own team :(
Police are liars when they say they have to see an incident to do something.😊
as a youth of melbourne it is putrid what some of us have come to, i got punched in the mouth for my nike puffer jacket three weeks ago on bourke street and i didnt even know the people. hope this situation improves and that something is done about it.

Attacks are very common in Melbourne and I see it almost on a daily basic. I was once a victim 5 years ago losing a few teeth at Southern Cross station and the police couldn’t even catch the attacker because the security camera was too far away from the scene. Those junkies are not afraid of being caught so nothing the police can do about it. Once they serve their jail time they will be released back onto the street again.

That’s so sad. Train stations are so full of atmosphere in the early morning. Sorry that took that joy from you, and your sense of safety.❤
Hi Rory 👋 I am so sorry that this happened, and I am shocked that there is no security patrolling that station 24 hours a day. Sydney Central is just as dicey, but there are police patrolling all night. Melbourne is a beautiful city, but unfortunately, this type of crime is on the rise. The police station is nearby on Spencer Street, which is why they responded quickly. Stay safe, Rory and recover quickly.

There was when I went there in April
Melbourne is a real dump of a place now every crook is out on bail, sorry to hear this has occurred mate.
Although Police may of "arrested" the scumbag. Guaranteed he would of been bailed and released almost straight away. Probably got a record as long as your arm and be back on the street doing it to someone else the next day...

I’m so sorry this happened to you. That’s a dangerous time of day to be out in Melbourne
When I first arrived in Melbourne, I experienced an attack. That night, while on a street in the suburbs of Melbourne, a group of teenagers in a car threw eggs at me. Fortunately, I dodged them. They drove off immediately, and I couldn't see the license plate. For my safety, I didn't chase after them. Hope your eye injury heals quickly. Good luck!
"Teenagers"
They should be treated with more caution than terrorists.
Oh man Australia's education system is so fucked. I have an American mate in my school who commented that at times, year 9 math seemed like if it was about year 5 math level in the USA. It's improper education and spoiling parents and their shitty manners that drives teenagers to do crazy shit like that. I remembered when I was in year 8, about 2 of my 6 best mates did fuckin drugs, and that scared me so bad I ended my relationship immediately with them. Also the Australian law systems! Oh, teenagers are so unrestricted in here it's like if all teenagers are prisoners, and the whole fucking world is their prison. Cuz they've already committed enough crimes and shit that now they don't care what they do, because they're already recieving their life sentence, except that this is the fucking reality, and the goverments don't give a shit about what teenagers do, it's like they've been granted the pass to bring hell onto Earth!
Sorry that I've talked so much bullshit about teenagers. It just gets me really emotional when I hear the topic.
Anyways stay safe, and I love you my friend.

So sorry to hear this happen to you. You come across as friendly and approachable person, then they just take advantage. Hope you recover well and continue your travels.
I'm an international student and recently experienced a violent and racist attack at Southern Cross station. This guy started hurling abuses at me, and when I asked him why he was mad, he punched me out of nowhere. I tried to stall him until the platform police could arrive, but he kept punching, kicking, and even threatened to kill me. At that point, I had to defend myself, so I started hitting back. The fight went on for about 3 minutes, and eventually, he tried to walk away.
I called 000, but while I was looking at my phone, he suddenly ran at me and punched me in my right eye, causing multiple fractures to the orbital bone. The police witnessed this last part of the assault as they were trying to catch him (thanks to bystanders who might have alerted them).
Don't fight and run away
@jetpark3743 Reread my comment. He was the one who ran away because I wasn't backing down. He came back running because police were chasing him, and I was unaware of that and was using my phone to contact vicpolice.
that's terrible. I hope you are okay
The racism is coming from foreigners. We are not designed to be forced to fight each other for increasingly smaller numbers of jobs, housing etc. Multiculturalism has destroyed the West and is intentional. Divide and conquer leads to more control and totalitarianism. Look across the West. Every nation is being flooded and people are fed up.
you have permanent damage while he loses his rights at best, instead of being oblivious you should have always been alert of your surroundings.
I hope you’re feeling better Rory. Don’t let them drag you down. Keep creating your videos and do what you do best.
Hi Rory, I glad that you are fully recovered. You have made a lot of great videos. 👍👍
Very upsetting to hear this. I find it disgusting that Southern Cross, one of the largest train stations in Australia, doesn’t have 24 hour policing. I hope you have a speedy recovery Rory and all that matters is that you were okay and safe in the end. My prayers go out to you! 🙏
Diversity is our strength lol
Btw I am Asian too and was attacked on a Sunday morning in the City, corner of Bourke and King(?).
About 15 Somalian kids in a group, chased me for like 500 meteres but I just about managed to evade them, I entered a building and screamed random names(“Tony, Jason come out and help me”) to give the impression that I knew people in there that were going to help me, the boys turned back coz of that. There was no one there, it was the campus building for some random college.
I called 000, cops turned up in about 20 minutes and luckily were able to spot them, I then went to the station to give a statement and called back regularly to see what they were doing about it..
Only 4 of them were summoned to court for actually assaulting someone earlier that morning and I don’t know what happened after that.
Soon Au will turn into London and the rest of Europe.

get well soon rory, im really glad your eye didnt receive any permanent damage. we love you!
P.S im pretty sure the reason why there was no security/staff is because southern cross is stupidly not a 24/hr station, and they don't have staff during closing hours.
It's baffling. Do they think criminals only work business hours?
Imagine sydney that's only Melbourne
@gracewebster6940 funny things is I would feel safe in morning as presume as scum in bed at 5am. We more worried at 1 or 2am
@@gracewebster6940they don't care, CCTV is modern security because the Police aren't here to stop crime.
They're here to punish whomever they feel they should punish and sometimes it's the victim.
Rory got lucky here but he unlike me doesn't "look like a criminal".
Something every Cop says to me and I'm a clean skin, not even a traffic offence recorded
@@MartintheTinman mate your situation isn't unusual , police are trained to he judgemental and suspicious, of anyone who's not their own family or fellow emergency services, they refuse to interview v, arrest, charge, a local junkie who seriously assaulted me , there's major damage , and I'm older , if it was a cop , doctor , ambo , nurse , or some charity worker , they'd charge him !
I don't know the offender , as I don't associate with scum and losers .
Oh Rory! I’m so sorry this happened, how awful. We love your channel and hubby and I love to watch your adventures. I hope you continue to travel and nothing like this ever happens again. Big love to you 💜
I'm sorry this happened. I wish you can continue to enjoy safe travels. Thank you for you admirable dedication to even share this criticism of Southern Cross Station.
Oh dear, Rory. This is so bad & I am sorry to hear that. Yes, I agree that there should be more security at the train station as this is the busiest one in Melbourne. Can't believe this could happen in Australia. Take more rest & hope you will recover soon
Oh mate that's awful what happened to you. I'm glad you have mostly recovered from this. I do agree there does need to be more security at Southern Cross station or even just police patrolling the area.
Glad you're ok. 🙏🙏🙏 This is horrible. No one should have to fear for there safety like this.
Good on you for posting about this, I'm hoping this issue gets more attention and something's done about it. It's super crazy that there was no security so early in the morning at Southern Cross Station of all places. Hoping for a quick recovery, both mentally and physically for you man.
Glad you're okay. I saw someone seriously assaulted near the VLine bus terminals at Southern Cross early this year. The PSOs were nowhere to be seen and I flagged down a police car, which was a Public Order Response vehicle, and all they did was tell me to call 000.
Police don't care , unless it's one of their own! ..
Thanks for trying to help someone! .
No one helped me , late last year , when I needed it ...
@@265hemi7What made it worse was the cop I flagged down sarcastically said "thanks for your assistance". He looked like he couldn't care less.
I'm not surprised at that ! , At all!
If it were their own being attacked they'd go lights and sirens , they'll do anything for their own .
Like the cop who graduated the police academy , and who was already wanting so called stress leave after four weeks! .
They hadn't yet earnt any leave ! @@lh7325
I'm not surprised public order response are useless .@@lh7325
Rory I am so sorry that this has happened to you, please don't let this incident put you off your excellent work, I look so forward to it, especially the trains. My dear old dad would be horrified at what happened to you, as Melbourne was his home town and his job was a fitter welder and boiler maker. He worked on the trains and in his retirement
worked on renovating old locomotives here in New Zealand. Please keep up the good work and I look forward to your next train journey. 🌿
Sorry that this happened to you, I’ll be more wary if I’m ever at southern cross station again, I don’t travel to Melbourne often but my travels usually involve stops at southern cross station to get the airport bus
Brother I’m so sorry to hear this happened to you. Just remember fella, at least you are doing something with your life, these gronks won’t get anywhere.
They will continue to inflict misery on the rest of us.
If you are short sighted you will have to have your eye regularly examined just in case you develop a detached retina.
Myopic people have elongated eyeballs and thin retinas which can pull away if there is a tear.
Hi Rory , Sorry to hear and glad that you are ok.
I'm sorry about these violent gronks that this country produces. You handled yourself well in all the chaos. Glad you're in good spirits
So sorry for your troubles. Situational awareness is very important in these environments. I hope that you are safe and pray that you recover and are guided safely.
OMG THAT IS JUST CRAZY! I can't believe something like this would happen! People in this country are crazy and out of their mind. That is very brutal! It's very scary! I am very sorry you had to go through that, hopefully your eye is better. I have you in my prayers, Take care Rory.
That's horrible! Glad to hear that you've recovered so well.
We were so sorry to see what happened to you on the show, you are such a lovely man and we enjoyed every show you have made.we hope you recover quickly and we can’t wait to see you again.thank you so much for all your posts.
Rory, I am sorry that you experienced such a terrible incident at Southern Cross Station. I live in Brunswick, Melbourne and feel deeply sorry that someone visiting Melbourne was attacked in what should be a safe public space. Thank you for sharing your story. I am writing to my local state member to highlight the security risk of no security staff at Southern Cross so that he can ask the Victorian premier why there is this security flaw. I hope you enjoy the remainder of your time in Melbourne and don't adjust your itinerary due to this experience. Sebastian, Brunswick/Merri-bek, Naarm/Melbourne
Sorry to hear from a Melburnian, as someone that works with many from an Asian heritage I know of many that have been attacked and or carjacked. I once had a drunk guy in broad daylight throw a wine bottle at me at 1 pm in South Melbourne market, hit my arm and smashed my phone. Despite being "known" in the area he was never caught.
Unfortunately many believe that "Asians" as a easy target. I'm born here from Asian heritage but got plenty of dirty looks when I bought baby powder for my daughters or the shame I felt for looking Chinese when covid hit.
Very angry about this injustice. So sorry for what happened.
Womp womp.
we need more Asians here and fewer of the uncivilised
This sounds bad but Australia is still a violent and somewhat racist place and Asians should embrace the more machismo culture of some Anglos/Lebanese/Greeks/Italians/Arabs etc to protect themselves from criminals
Auslander Raus!
I've never commented on a youtube video ever, but my heart goes out to you mate, this never should have happened, I hope you are doing okay Rory
rory, im sorry this happened to you! it’s honestly scary to think how there was no security at the station at the time. thank you for making this video to raise awareness. sending you so much love and praying for a quick recovery for you. ❤️
Best wishes are with you Rory, that shouldn’t happen to anybody, especially you. I hope you recover well. I love your videos, thoughts and prayers are with you.
From the beginning of RoryDing travels, your amazing content presented in a gentle and peaceful style. This is outrageous.
Because this is our twin
Really sad to hear this happened to you Rory. I enjoy your videos a lot and to see you have to go through something so horrible is heartbreaking. Please take time to look after yourself and your mental health also after this, I went through something similar when I was younger and it still stays with me till this day.
All the best, mate.
I wish you continued healing. I am so very sorry. You are clearly a gentle man. I am honestly relieved it could have ended much worse.
Sorry to hear this. I hope you a speedy recovery
Glad you are ok. Thank you for sharing. Hope this prevents someone from being hurt.
Rory, I am sorry you went through this horrible experience. I hope you recover 100% and please be careful.
absolutely horrifying, glad to see you're much better and NOT going to that train station again. Stay safe.
I've been to this station before (21st of may, 2024, weeks before your attack), I used a prayer room in the area, absolutely terrified for what might happen. It didnt luckily, but the fact that the nightmare i had is your reality is mortifying, take care ❤
I’m so sorry this happened to you, this is just disgusting! You should be able to travel safely at a station. Unfortunately, this reflects what is going on in all communities in Australia due to intergenerational family breakdowns. People are ignoring their duties to be decent parents and raise their children properly. People are also making huge profits from selling drugs and are paying off those in power to ensure their drug trade goes on unhindered.
So glad that you have recovered, Keep up the great work
