    Bro ur knowledge of how to do this stuff is pretty incredible

    Id really really consider sorting that soldering out not only in the qs connector but on the copper strip also run the cable all the way down on the negative side like you did on the positive side under hard discharge you may get uneven discharge
    Also maybe some ffp sheet to protect the battery
    Just my 2cents

    You need a 150 - 200W soldering iron for those 4AWG wires and flux.

      Hmm yeah mine is definitely not that!

      I found the best way was to put the wires on before spot welding them to the pack You can use a minni blow torch and large solder works heaps well, like how they coper solder hot watter plumbing

    I really really like how detailed this video was… also my second batter build is going to be a very big build 28s 20p using jp40 cells ( also if yo haven’t heard about them read up my boy lol ) but do have a question have you tested the amperage and what did you end up with ( and yes I know you have the BMS controlling the amps)

    • @ItsMallie
      @ItsMallie  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The battery can do up to 945 amps.
      Now If your talking amp hours thats 88.2Ah.
      Are you talking about the Ampace jp40?
      if so i have indeed never heard about those lol
      Im going to have to research up on these!

      @@ItsMalliea lot of people havent heard about them lol so if you hadn’t heard about them I wanted to make sure you did causethey are very very good cells and can push a lot of amps… but 945 is crazy… I’m also shooting for around 900 peak and around 500 continuous… good luck out there

      @ItsMallie preheat the wires with one of those torch lighters they sell to crack heads at the gas station. Then use your soldering iron to finish.

  • @MaurioStevens

    Very nice battery build. Your soldering needs work. The iron isn't hot enough or you should let it absorb more heat. When the solder is hot enough it'll flow through those wires rather than just sit there. The soldering on the connector also same issue. You might have wanted to do a technique where you fill the connector with the solder then heat it up and insert the wire.
    Also with such a high voltage and high amp discharge. You may need to prechargre the caps in the controller.
    Overall very nice build can't wait to see the project and what bike your putting this on

    • @ItsMallie
      @ItsMallie  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah my soldering really sucks lol
      But if its because of not enough heat like your saying its probably the very cheap soldering gun that i have isn't able to get hot enough
      so definitely gonna get a better one in the future.
      But when you ay pre charge the controller caps
      what does that mean? never heard that before.

      flux flux flux

    • @Truebillycat
      @Truebillycat 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think he means because if the caps are not pre charged in the controller it could be a crazy spark trying to put those connectors together @@ItsMallie

    • @ItsMallie
      @ItsMallie  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Truebillycat Ooooh ok i think i've heard of that.
      Well that isn't necessary due to the QS Connectors, They are anti spark connectors so plugging this in i get no spark!

    Hey hope all is well…. I wanted to ask have you tested this pack for its amperage ( with or without the BMS) I’m asking because I had these copper nickel busbars that I won’t be able to use. So I may have to go copper/nickel sandwich strips like you. But I want to make sure .1 copper will be able to handle 900/1000 amps( and can’t find any charts or info online ) so like did you achieve that with this set up?

    • @ItsMallie
      @ItsMallie  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not quite.
      The bike that this battery went to is so strong that it scares the 💩 out of me to pin the throttle therefor i don't think i've ever went high enough to get to those amps but with the little bit i did do and how long i've had the battery for it gives me no issues nor does it overheat in anyway.
