Idk why this is confusing for me but once the dimmer is wired how do you attach it to the lights?? Is it just on the main extension wire connection that the lights will plug into? Do you plug the dimmer in separately? Is the dimmer in the middle of the male and female parts of the extension wire?
He basically installed a dimmer switch in the middle of an extension cord. To use it, you plug the cord with the dimmer into the power source, then you plug the light into that cord.
You could use it for a lot of things, dish lights like that make for a real nice key light, but you could also use tungsten lights and have the effect of fire, use it for TV screen lights, use it for a catch light in the eyes, lots of things!
When I see Shane Hurlbut and Roger Deakins mentioning the use of shower curtains, I tend to pay attention to to these vids. Great job, keep ‘em coming/
Show us your superior DIY skills... "lowkey" you can tell this pro gaffer guy had a hell of a long day and just shown some basic tips quickly. So unless you can wrap a full day of set then go on to do this capsule after that, maybe just STFU.
