I live in zone 5 and have no problem growing them, except have to replant them every spring as they do not survive through the winter here. You can buy them from the store. Look for chayote older with tough skin (use your nail to test). Allow the fruit to sit on the counter until it sprouts. They like sun and well drained soil which Florida is one of the best place to grow them. Hope this helps. Happy gardening.
I have planted so many in Florida and after my plants grow they start getting dead the leaves And I add fish food and them they disappear from my planter I don’t know what to do or what I’m doing wrong? Help me please I’m in zone 10 a
