Did this a while during my strength workouts but found out soon that it was just way to anoying. So the best solution is to just start a free strength workout on the watch and don't bother with sets and reps tracking. Just push on pause if you are resting and on go if you start your set and you are good. I just don't see any benefit of tracking all the exercises correctly. I track them in my journal already.
Thank you for this because I already track my progress on another app and was wondering this too. Question, can you see the time easily on your watch while working out?
But what is missing in Free is how many sets already done. Could not find this data screen. But if U do Gamin’s training or pre-set training then you can see sets done/left.
You ain’t kidding man…. I created the workout and used it today for the first time. I was more frustrated instead of getting a decent workout. I’m gonna try free mode and see if that’s less stressful

I like the idea, but the gym I go to is super crowded. I wish I could follow the workout list in order, but sometimes I can only use the available equipment.
I totally hear you. If you have a workout created you can also "Skip Group" which is skipping that exercise. You can after at any point during a "rest" or recover" scroll to "Skipped Groups" and any go back to finish the exercises you skipped. Hope this helps bro. I tried it on a Garmin Epix 2 and the Venu 3.
@@Aesthetic_Al I forgot to reply to this comment to thank you. I tried it, and it worked like a charm. Thank you so much for the trick. Now I don't need to manually edit my workout after I finish. Most of the time, Garmin's Auto Detection is unreliable. I also entered the weight for specific exercises so that I don't need to edit the weight anymore during exercise.
Thanks @@Aesthetic_Al Ive been using the forerunner for almost a year at the gym, and I have even skipped groups, I never knew I could go back and re add them in. This has been one of the biggest frustrations I had with the watch, as I often have to switch things up due to a busy gym. Thank you!
there is also a setting in the strength overall settings to always allow editing after each set is complete, and it has like a 5 second timeout, so you don't have to go find it in a menu. (Fenix 6X)
Does the watch track heart rate and other metrics well if you flip it and wear it on the inside of your wrist? This helps whenever doing exercises, like hang cleans, that require wrist flexion.

Thank you for this great video, one thing I did not understand. So you create your workout on the connect app (treadmill+strength+treadmill) and then send it to your watch. Now how do you start this exact full workout on the watch ? just by choosing the "strength" option?
Once you create the workout what i do is assign it to what day i plan on doing that workout. Hit the 3 Icons on the top right (you must be on the workout Screen}, Click add to calendar. and thats it. Make sure to on your home screen of the garmin Connect app hit the refresh and it will show on your watch. I start my monday with writting my 5 workouts and assigning them to my calendar. It takes 3 minutes (my workouts dont change much just the percentage)... Hope this makes sense and helps you out bro

Nice video man! Do you know if there is a way that the watch can calculate your estimated 1RM of a training? For example if I did 3 sets of 5 @100kgs of squats, that it would calculate my estimated 1RM? Or do I have to do a rep max test and manually insert it in benchmark excercises?

I’m having an issue with the weights I input on my watch not matching the connect app when it syncs. For instance I input 45 pounds for a dumbbell overhead press and when it syncs, the connect app says I input 95 pounds. I have to edit the weight for each set. Any tips on how to do this correctly?
I appreciate the videos. I have been struggling with trying to find a good way to log in my workouts, reps, and weight into Garmin via the phone. There must be something I have set up incorrectly based on the workout type. Would you have a video going thru the watch/workout setup?

Hey, crucial question. Is it possible to add body weight calisthenics exercises into the workout as well? For example dips, pushups with leveraged legs (also variables depending on the height etc). Also can you make dropsets there?
That should all work. For Garmins repository of exercises, if it involves bodyweight it includes that as the expected starting weight. For a drop set you can just put two sets of the same exercise next to each other and give them different weights so should be good again
Especially the third part with connecting my HR strap is nice, the only thin that I am missing is the function that I would connect the strap to my phone, and not first to the watch and then upload the data to the phone. But for now I think that's the option that works. Was about to think of a Coros, after going away from Polar and will see if I get a Garmin now with a Polar Verity Sense strap. Guess that's the best option for kettlebell and all other fast movements, since the Verity Sense, sits better than my Wahoo chest strap. Thanks for your videos, great stuff.

If I make a workout in garmin connect and then execute it at the gym can I choose which move I do next or is it locked that I need to do move 2 after one and three after 2? Since our gym is pretty small and sometimes the machine is taken that I should do next so I do something else that is on the list for today instead and go back to that machine later. But if the rotation of the movements is locked then it count it all wrong or then I just need to wait until someone is done with their set... All my buddies are using android work out rep counters in their phone and since I didn't find a similar easy to use app for iPhone, I thought I could maybe do it all in my Garmin Fenix watch since I wear it all the time anyway. I am not just sure yet is this the way I want to log my workouts, since it should be frictionless when I do my workouts. I also prefer ways that let me count my reps and weights without looking at my phone while working out. But setting up the workout in Garmin connect looks tedious.
I do extremely dynamic workouts with no rest and varied weight e.g. I'll put the lat pulldown machine to absolute max weight and pull down either a few times or one time very slowly then drop the weight to like 70 lbs and do reps at various speeds then jump the weight up again all with no rests it's very dynamic in regards to how long I make each rep, range of motion, weight, etc. and basically impossible for me to track with my Garmin. I don't want to change my workout style as it works incredibly well for me but I want to get those challenge badges so I might just have to waste time in the gym doing work outs the "normal way" just to get those challenges.
The watch is just an added burden, rather than a piece of lifting gear that would help me lift more weight. Running it’s perfect lifting it feels like a chore.
