I was born and grew up in Sweden, and have had like a sense of shortness of ´life´ and feelings of psychological suffocation for years. It goes away after a some time, if I stay in usa, and when traveling to Thailand its gone in a week. What da heck is wrong with EU?? Noticed that a neigbour is thinking and feeling the same as I, more or less. Its not me. It is EU that have changed for the worse. I now bought a condo i southern part of Thailand. I will move there permanently Jan 2025.......yes I am old 68 years
It's all to do with religion and culture if you had especially the religion around the world you would feel the same vibes everywhere, oh yes multiculturalism some cultures are to far of nothingness to feel anything so their attitude is the same of cold hearted nothingness
Never going back, Wayne (...love the channel!). I was in Minnesota in 2008 when the economy tanked. I was studying for my PhD, but then I was homeless and drowning in debt. I moved to China in 2010 then to Chiang Mai in 2024. It's been a wonderful journey and I discovered that I really do not feel bounded by political borders. People everywhere are generally cool on the same level. I do return every summer to Chicago to visit my 93 year mother, though...
Thanks Jim. Thanks for sharing this, sounds like you rollercoaster life buddy. All worked out well in the end by the sounds of it. Yes, I do need to visit my Mum at some point.
It's a bit personal to say but your mum probably wants you to stay in the uk because you come across as a considerate person and she probably really likes having you around. Really like your videos.
Yeah just been through the look after mum thing but now she is in a care facility so she has company and good care in New Zealand. They will resist all the way from leaving the family home but now she loves it. 92.
Interesting topic, one I think of often. I'm based in the UK but for the last couple of years I have been staying for longer periods, usually a month before Christmas and a month early in the new year. I've just booked 6 weeks for January. I'm spending my time in the uk longing to be back over to Thailand, literally going through the motions on a daily basis waiting for the next trip to come around. I love my country, I'm very patriotic, but its changing fast, and I don't like the direction its heading in. Had I never visited Thailand maybe I wouldn't have had my eyes opened to how good life can be. It reminds me of the lyrics of a James song "if I hadn't seen such riches, I could live with being poor" and I quote that without any meaning towards money.
I came to Asia as very young man and stay for long time and thought that I will not feel good back home. And when I came back to Europe I had great time specially culturally and music and nightlife was so vibrant. Was time when New Wave,Electro Hip Hop and Space disco blend in one endless symphony. Then all the books, comics, magazines. Was entire new life to discover but in heart I still loved Asia and went back.
Nice! That would be a great time to go back too. Electro/Hip Hop. If I could step back to the 80s or 90s, it wouldn't be so bad I guess. Hope you can get back to Asia soon.
I've lived in Southeast Asia for 4 years but I still miss the USA for many things including family, I can easily go back if i wanted to no problem, Thailand will always be here it's not going to change much can always come back.
My thoughts exactly. I left the UK in 2008, and have been living in Asia ever since. I'm currently in China, been here for 12 years. Happily married to a lovely Chinese woman, and don't intend going back to live in England. I'm sure I'd feel like a stranger there
I stayed around till my mother passed then I moved here. My lifestyle here I would want be rock star to be able to afford this lifestyle I have here in Thailand. I miss friends a lot and some food stuff I cant get here but now most available in the expat shops. But I see the goverment and what they are doing to their citizens and also people back home are mostly miserable having to work so hard nothing to show for the hard graft. A good conversation piece that made me think so well done Wayne.
Just signed my last paperwork on the house sale, fingers crossed complete in a few weeks and head to Hua Hin should be there for end November. If I’ve got to come back it will be for a week only, country’s crazy at the moment and not getting any better
Yes we lived in CM for many years then left & yes it was hard to readjust to western life at first. We initially thought we made a huge error & were going to reverse it right back to CM. But things were hard to re-rent our home etc so we stayed. It took a good 4 months to get into the swing of things but now we really are glad we did. We now return to Thailand for 3 months a year & stay in our home further north than CM. In fact we are here now doing renovations & loving it. We kind of cherry pick the best of both worlds now. ;)
Thanks for sharing this Mike, great info from someone that's gone back home after living here. I think the both of best worlds is still the best way of doing it. Hope the renovations are going well.
I enjoyed this video ..good to hear a sincere subject many vloggers pretend does not exist in selling Thailand for example. Remain involved with friends and family you spent your growing years with, or relocate and let the past flow away down the river, or somehow try to manage both aspects of your life? I have brothers and old friends in USA that i do not want to leave forever, but Thailand seems like home too! My thing is I have not solved the issue in a happy way yet. Maybe there is no happy answer ..just live with it....
Thanks! Great to read your comment. I agree with what you say, it can be difficult. I'm never 100% happy but like you mentioned, maybe we're not meant to be.
I relate to you a lot Wayne. Im moving to SEA in January with enough wonga for about a year. Im going to try some online support work/recovery coaching and vlogging my experience. I know you get asked a lot how you make ends meet and ive always wondered this about you because im aspiring to your life style. Im planning on trying to build a modest income. I dont drink or smoke and happy living simple and cheap lifestyle. Im going to give it a go. CNX is my spiritual home. Still the most puzzling part of the puzzle is financial. Im not confident i can make ends meet but i will give it my best shot. ❤
Go for it! Find anyway you can, that’s what I did. Use anything you’re good at, and try to make money from it online. This was a great message to read, it reminded me of me. I was in the same shoes, and decided to just do it and give it a go. I hope it all works out for you 👍
I've been here 4. 5 year's. I could NEVER go back to South Africa. NEVER. I love your videos Wayne. You have such a Good Energy. The videos are going to help my move to the old city somewhere soon 😊😂❤.
I’m also from South Africa and left in 2002 to live in the UK. Although the UK has been good to me, I’ve never felt at home in the UK and would like to put down some roots somewhere warm in the world. Could I ask what work you do to sustain your living in Thailand?
Wayne l went back in June 2023 and I remember sitting in the main bus station at Heathrow at 8 am and 11c waiting for my bus back to Wales and saying to myself "Geoff" what the fxxk are you doing here.😢
I remember those Heathrow bus station thoughts. That's the worst bit, waiting for that National Express. It feels empty. I'm normally close to tears at that moment.
The Happiest Sight In the World? An Englishman leaving London for Bangkok! The Saddest Sight In the World? An Englishman leaving Bangkok for London! I have lots of English mates who've been through this enough times! ;-) (Nor do I love to get on a plane headed back to Boston).
Don't sweat it mate, when it's time for you to go back to your country for whatever reason, make it short and sweet. Two or three weeks is usually fine for me to get things done and see family. You have been putting if off for some time now, get it done and carry on.👍
On Sunday 27th OCT there will be a big event, an important event, a grand boat procession with the king sitting on a boat along the Chao Phraya River at noon.
I came to Thailand when I was in the navy as a young man in the 1980’s and I knew then that I would come here to live one day….I retired here 3 years ago and haven’t missed my country one bit…. I thought about going back to visit family…. But the 24 hour plane ride there…. Then 24 hour ride back…. Is a deal breaker for me…. My family members travel a lot…. I’ll wait for them to come here for a visit…when the snow gets a meter deep there… I’ll get a call…..” hey how’s the weather in Thailand..? “. We’re coming for a visit….okay?..555….
Great to read this comment buzzy, thanks for sharing. I'm the same with the flight, 14 hours for me and that puts me off. I hate flying for anything over a few hours. Hope life is good now buddy.
Going back home is difficult. The weather, the people everything is what you know it to be . In reality it takes a few weeks to adjust to it, then it feels normal like you haven’t been away . Those few weeks are challenging.
That’s right, I think time will always adjust you back to life anywhere. Thailand would always be in the back of my head though. I think a 2 or 3 week visit back home is all I would need. Cheers
Phew, that was fascinating film Wayne. A personal insight into your inner most thoughts. Glad you’re on top form after the hideous flooding. Always important to nip back to the UK. every so often. Best wishes from me here, at the minute in Pathum Thani.
@@WalkAboutWayneall okay here thanks. Just getting ready to drive back to Bang Saray after a week or so here in north Bangkok. Calling in at Klong 15 Pathum Thani, Ongkharak District. I’ve got to buy some plants for the garden to replace the ones that were savagely eaten by insects. Klong 15 was traditionally a farming area and has an amazing amount of garden centres and farm shops. You can buy all kinds of plants there. It’s an incredible place. I’ve never seen as many varieties of plants, trees, flowers, water features, everything. You often see vehicles overloaded with plants and trees driving away to their far flung destinations. Hope all’s well.
You say about watching the football live on tv at 3 o'clock in the afternoon , but you can't do that on a Saturday afternoon in the UK unless you actually go to the grounds to watch it live . At least you can watch it live in Thailand .
I am really apprehensive about going to Asia as i will be by myself, BUT want to go to learn some basic language skills, the culture, enjoy the scenery and play golf, its a massive move for me but i have to do it, where i live is becoming so expensive, i just hope in Asia i can pick up the Languages and correct customs quickly.
I hope you can give it a try Steve, I’m sure it will all works out for you. Lots of golf courses and like minded people you would meet here. All the best mate.
What you're sayin' is true. It is HARD to even imagine living back home in the west again after living in Thailand. Five plus years on since leaving and I am counting down the days to gettin' back there. To be honest, I never expected to be away from Thailand this long. The only saving grace is the fact that I got a really really good job immediately, the minute I got home. And I am loving it, having fun...and saving a sh*t ton of money for a great retirement. Otherwise, I'd be on that airplane tomorrow!
Hi Wayne I’ve watched your videos for the last couple of months, I’m a carpenter/ builder in Australia and have researched a lot but can’t seem to find any info on how to get a job there, in Chiang Mai have you got any advice for me please
Thanks for watching Noel, much appreciated. It would be very difficult to find work here mate unless you’re interested in teaching. Your best bet would be something online buddy.
Hey Wayne loved your Vlog. You know what mate....I don't think you would like life back in the UK. You would probably be OK in the short term but I think you would miss the weather, the laid back culture of Thailand ect. From what i gather from my family that are still back in Scotland, things aren't so good bro. Not so good eh. Quick question Wayne, I remember you doing the Vlog on getting your motorbike licence there, the process seemed easy enough but what I'm confused about is , do you have too be on a Thai resident visa to be eligible to get a licence? Cheers mate , take it easy
Thanks buddy! I don’t think I would fit in back home now. A very short 2 week visit would be enough. If you get a residence certificate here, you can get the license. You can pay an agent to get the certificate on any visa 👍
Thanks Wayne, so even if I go too Thailand on say a 60 day visa which I think is the maximum amount of time that you can go there with an option too extend another 30 days. If I got a agent to get me the resident certificate I could go for a Thai licence. Would I get the resident certificate though if I was just there on a visitor visa
yes the staying longer than 6 month tax thing will be a big un...unless there is a change of mind from thai gov. ATM feels Thailand is more stricter and harder to stay long term than other se asia countries. Good video as usual. take it easy take it easy!
💯 🎯‼️ Amen Wayne! I have felt that way for the last 2yrs we have been back in the US, or as it feels “stranded in the US”. No one gets Megan and my attraction to living there, and that is OK. We know where we need to be, and hopefully in the next 8mo we will be back. Great Video man🤙
Nice one Tony! That's right buddy, no one ever gets why back home. People where I'm from just live in a bubble. Hope it all works out for you and you'll be back in Thailand soon.
Yeah, even after my recent trip that got cut short and issues with the heat, after 2 days of being home I knew that I would be returning permanently at some point. Thailand is in my blood. If I can leave after a not so good trip and want to move more then ever I guess it's meant to be!😂
I came to Bangkok in June got a multiple entry retirement visa so I could go back after a few months to work now it is October and no plans to go back this year now 😂
I've been back for 4 months after being out there for 2 years. I don't feel right here anymore, not that I ever totally did. I don't hate the UK but I just feel I'm better suited to Asia. Need to find a more stable way to earn a crust though. I had all my eggs in a website basket and one algorithm change blew it away over night. Apart from teaching English, does anyone have any recommendations for earning a crust out there? I'm open to do remote online work. I know it's difficult for foreigners to find a job in Thailand.
Thanks for sharing. Nice to hear from someone that has just gone back home. Sorry to hear that it didn’t work out with the website. Like you mentioned, best to have a few baskets. What I did , was think of something I’m good at and transfer it to online. Maybe you’re good at writing, graphic design,or some sort if knowledge you can give people. Hope you can get back out here at some point 👍
@@WalkAboutWayne That's exactly what I was doing until a certain search engine decided it was unhelpful and took all my traffic. I've got a couple of new projects on the go so 🤞. Thanks for the reply.
Wayne, I'm an Aussie but I have a Premier League fantasy team, I watch the highlights of the games every week, even the National League (because my team York City is in the National LOL) I do also like Man City. I am even in tipping comps for the Prem, Championship and League One. I like my football. I have been in Chiang Mai for nearly a year now, I arrived 14 Nov last year. My lease runs out in Dec. I am thinking of possibly moving down South to Cha Am, Hua Hin or on the other side to Jomtien or Bangsaray.
Nice one Paul, I never thought you was a English premier league fan, and a York City fan!! I didn't do fantasy league this year. How time flies, you been here nearly a year. It's good to check out other areas mate, I really liked Hua Hin and even Jomtien was ok. You can always come back up north if you dont like it.
After Covid I came back only too see my mother and she 92.She passed away two month after and I could not go before due to Covid restrictions. Well if I didn’t go back I could not live with myself.
Being back for longer than planned, NO, just No... I do not fit into the wests way at all, and I was always an odd one out in the UK... I cant and dont want to be in the UK. Take Care Wayne, maybe we can meet up for a coffee as I'm back at the end of the month =D
I don't know how you make a living out there but it's definitely tough to maintain a reasonable standard of living here in the UK. Most of my time is taken up with work.
Walking footy mate, I'm 57 and still play. Yeah I ache a bit the next day but love it. You can always tell who's played competively when they were young ⚽
Hey Wayne, just stepped in your channel and i can say... Exactly same at my situation 😅🤣😂 Mum wanna i move back to germany to take care her soon as possible... Um... yeah, i love my mum, who dosent love his mum but i stay here since march 2012 and i migrant completely so how i can stay in a "prison" like germany ?!!? Its a NoGo and not a GoPro 😅🤣😂 Bad situation ^^
Canadian here. I went back to Canada for a visit and got stuck there for a few years during the epidemic.. I left as soon as I could. I don't hate Canada. I'm Proud to be Canadian. But after 12 years living around the world, 8 of these between Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos, I wouldn't move back to Canada. Wayyy to expensive and now, politically, the choice is between Satan and Lucifer. American Culture Wars are making their way to Canada. Very, very happy to be away from this BS. But, contrary to many comments here, I now need a break from Asia for a few years. Moving to South America in a few months, probably somewhere in the Patagonia. But I'll be back in Asia at some point.
Good to have a bit of both worlds. Hot countries are annoying to me after a bit, and even Thai culture gets a bit much after a few months. One thing that's wildly different than here in the west is the easy and varied encounters with the ladies.
Yes, A lot of people I know here , they like the best of both worlds. That is probably the best way to do Thailand. Alternate living here with back home. The ladies are a big bonus 👍
Hi Wayne. I have a small business in the UK , which brings in passive income of approx £2800 per month . Would this be good quality living in thailand for a married couple ?
It's so hard to answer without knowing your lifestyle. That would be a great budget for a couple in my eyes though. Find the right place to live, not to expensive and live a basic but good life.
You straddle both cultures, not fully a part of either one. I feel the exact same way, even though I have only lived in the west. I choose not to embrace much of western culture, much of which centers on materialism, but also know I will never be a part of eastern culture. I accept this future bargain before I leave this place someday.
That's a good point Dan. I don't think I'll ever be fully Thai culture. My home is always England but I'll stay away. Let's call it a never ending holiday haha.
November 6, 2024 will determine how much I can visit the US. I think this election is so consequential it will determine a lot of things for so many throughout the world. GOD HELP US ALL.
Unfortunately,Im 66 and the NZD is only worth 20 Baht and I have no idea how to finance myself the way it is throughout the changing world .If I new what the Thai governments long term plan was, I would feel a lot easier selling up and moving there😎. My Thai wife wants to stay in NZ,but she wont stay if I Croke it.Prices are going up in Thailand, but still way cheaper than here.We both Like Vietnam and could even end up in Cambodia. You dont have to guess what these two counties are going to do and is much cheaper. And ,Hey, Thailand is only 2hr away .What Im trying to say is,Im tired of the western way of life and my bodies falling apart. Dentist and hospitals are a breeze in Thailand. Its the little things you'll miss Wayne.Go home in winter when its grey, cold and miserable.Just the flight would kill me.
Yes, I agree with what your saying, we can never relax in Thailand, we never know what's coming next. Cambodia and Vietnam are always great options and I always have Vietnam as a back up. I could live there easily. Yes, I will need to make a very short journey home in the near future. I hate them flights, that's what puts me off. Thanks.
You can go back, but you won't like it... at one point, my mom told me, 'don't come back, it's horrible here.' USA - though she was talking about my father's dementia...
I hear ya, Pal! Back in Canada, we have an ever changing political climate of shite now! I'm really struggling myself as a father and husband. I'd just as soon move the entire tribe down to Thailand.....but alas, it's not as simple with kids and a wifey......
You really don't want to even consider coming back to the rat race. Four weeks annual leave and returning to fulltime employment is easy with a home base but having to start all over again a decade later would be a whole new ballgame. It is a depressing thought and I've never left it 😂🤣😂 Stay put and be happy mate. Visit mum for certain but make sure you have a return ticket prebooked 🤩
The daily rat race working day in and out just to keeping up with the bills the cost of living the tension due to political differences and did i mention the rudeness of some folks 😂 here in the USA don’t get me wrong I love the USA been living here for the last 40 something years for me and my husband and I would like to give Thailand a chance it is my other home country that is a part of me we’re looking forward to moving there and i think it’s nice for you to visit your mom Wayne and it’ll also be a good time for you to reinsurance for your decision even more once you see how things are back home great videos 👍
Thanks for the great comment Mally, I hope you can make the move over soon and give Thailand a chance. Yes, I love my country but I wouldn’t fit in anymore. A quick visit will be more than enough . 🙏
Most of the returned say don't go back. Really poor reviews about the U.K. And we may have been about one day from a nuclear war. (Good news Robert here). So S.E. Asia may be the safest place Anyway, maybe a brief hello to Mum. But not too long, or you may become a "Brit" again. Yikes!
It's not that there aren't inexpensive areas in the UK, it's just that they are garbage, unsafe, unpleasant with nothing to do. For the same price you could be living in Southeast Asia in pure paradise, complete safety, best food in the world, lively everywhere, endless activities, way better living conditions for the money etc. It is just way better value and lifestyle in Thailand and it is completely safe.
I would like to do that in the future mate. I've not travelled much in the UK. Like you said, it would be expensive though. Europe would be good on a motorbike.
I’m coming up to my first year here & i have same concerns, for me what i love here is i have lost my passion/desire to keep up with the latest possessions, plus there is virtually none of that new European word ‘woke’
I can totally relate Wayne, I'm here for the long haul, been here for over a year and a half, got 5 months left on my Ed Visa and I'll be applying for the DTV after that, no plans to ever go back to the UK to live and if I ever can't stay in Thailand for any reason I will go to some other Asian country. I couldn't handle England, I think I'd crack up! Without wanting to get too political it seems to be turning more and more communist all the time!
Let me tel you ,you got to be mad to come back to the uk , it’s gone here , I’m going to live in Thailand in 2 years , been going to Thailand for 25 years , it’s time to get out of this shirt hole, I be renting me house out for £1500 a month and take a lump of money with me . Iv got friends been living in Thailand for 10-15 years and for years telling me what you still doing living in the uk ; so give your head a shake and wake up the uk as gone mate
It isn't even recognisably England anymore. There is no facet of society that they won't try and black-wash or render sustainable, diverse and inclusive, even in the provinces.
Hello Wayne. This is a lengthy one but I believe I can help you After watching all your vlogs and lapping them again I can’t fail but notice one of your most somber and conflicting tones. Would you want to go back to the grind and falling back into the routines that you so gleefully ran away from in the first place ? Would you want to go back to appease family and friends only to be miserable inside I remember in one vlog a friend looked you up and met for a drink only for it to turn into a bender ? You said no way never again, well this is what you’d be facing every day. Then there’s the cost, yes we all know you’re a spendthrift type of person and good for you. England has changed dramatically and it’s super or rather ultra expensive could you conform to this drudgery….. I think not. My advice is to go back and sort out your affairs, see and hug your family then just like rudder that goes back to its original position so must you. Return back to what makes you and all of us seeing you being happy to the land of smiles I’m a tad older than you by 20 years and my 2 cents worth is heed my advice Keep em coming brother

Could I ask what work you do in Thailand to support living there?
Thank you Hilary, it's nice to hear that your living a good life in Thailand. Thanks again for the nice message.
You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave!
True 👍
‘Hotel California’ 😂
The Happiest Sight In the World? An Englishman leaving London for Bangkok! The Saddest Sight In the World? An Englishman leaving Bangkok for London! I have lots of English mates who've been through this enough times! ;-) (Nor do I love to get on a plane headed back to Boston).
That's true Sean, I remember that feeling leaving Bangkok in the airport, not a nice feeling.
Thumbs up 👍 Wayne
Cheers mate 👍
Can you do a video of where is the best place to watch western sports. Like a sports bar if there is one there.
Yes many places. Irish Bar and Wild Hog Bar are 2 of the best. Maybe I'll do a vlog one day.
Sometimes u gotta go back to realise how good it is abroad
Yes, that’s true, it will give me a wake up call
Don't sweat it mate, when it's time for you to go back to your country for whatever reason, make it short and sweet. Two or three weeks is usually fine for me to get things done and see family. You have been putting if off for some time now, get it done and carry on.👍
100% mate. Flying visit 👍
On Sunday 27th OCT there will be a big event, an important event, a grand boat procession with the king sitting on a boat along the Chao Phraya River at noon.
Nice 🙏
Thanks Andy, hope all is well mate .
Is it not on Sky and BT Sports anymore? I could choose which game to watch when I left.
@@WalkAboutWayne No live football is shown at 3 pm on Saturdays , they do show live matches at other times .
Great to see you again mate another great vlog can't wait for the next one 🏴😁
Nice one Richard, hope all is well mate.
Like working at Disney land bro, you just have to take a trip to Eastern Europe (change up the monotony for a few months).
Croatia or Bulgaria would be nice mate 👍
You can ride Lucille and vlog in England too, Wayne! Do it!
🤣 I think I would get beat up riding Lucille back home mate. Maybe vlog some of England and dat though.
Sounds like your doing good Beverly. Like you mentioned, building that money up for when you do return. 🙏
Anyone knows what happened to Brett Dev? Is he back in the UK, haven't heard from him in a while, hope he's all sound
Brett put up a video a few days back. He’s still in Chiang Mai 👍
The reason being, getting a Thai licence they would expect that you have a permanent address there?
yes the staying longer than 6 month tax thing will be a big un...unless there is a change of mind from thai gov. ATM feels Thailand is more stricter and harder to stay long term than other se asia countries. Good video as usual. take it easy take it easy!
Yes, it will be interesting to see how this Tax situation unfolds. It could be a big factor in people staying here . Take it easy 👍
If I can leave after a not so good trip and want to move more then ever I guess it's meant to be!😂
I think 2 days will be all it takes for me also 🤣. I'd probably go back for a few weeks.
Cool shades Wayne. Oakleys?😎
Just cheap market shades 😎
I came to Bangkok in June got a multiple entry retirement visa so I could go back after a few months to work now it is October and no plans to go back this year now 😂
That's the way Dave, come and go as you please now mate.
Good on ya mate.
Cheers John 👍
My plan is to live in Thailand but the Thai gov.seems to talk about doing things that would be roadblocks
Yes, that's true Mark, we never know what's around the corner in Thailand.
Live in HH and ❤ it 😊
Good topic mate - I think the answer is yes - but it would be very hard & cold 🥶 ✌️😎👋🙏
Nice one Ant!
After Covid I came back only too see my mother and she 92.She passed away two month after and I could not go before due to Covid restrictions.
Well if I didn’t go back I could not live with myself.
That's right! Glad you go to see your mother.
Being back for longer than planned, NO, just No... I do not fit into the wests way at all, and I was always an odd one out in the UK... I cant and dont want to be in the UK. Take Care Wayne, maybe we can meet up for a coffee as I'm back at the end of the month =D
Yes mate, I don't want to go back for any longer than I need too. Thanks buddy, hope to see you around Chiang Mai.
I don't know how you make a living out there but it's definitely tough to maintain a reasonable standard of living here in the UK. Most of my time is taken up with work.
Yes mate, that's one of the main reasons I came here. All I was doing was working and sleeping and paying rent.
Dorothy said it best mate. THERES NO PLACE LIKE HOME
Home is were the heart is....and it ain't the UK
👍👍
My mind wants to play football but my knees say no.
I'm the same mate. I would love to play again but I know I would pull a hamstring 🤣. Love my football though.
I went to the US for university on a girls soccer scholarhsip! Hahahah my knees won’t let me , anymore!
🤣🤣 Yes, I know the feeling mate. I think I will make a very quick visit home in the near future, but I'll make sure I have that return ticket 🤣.

No, you cannot. I've been back in Canada 6 years after 8+ in CM. Family reasons. I hate it here, cannot wait until its time to leave.
Hope you can get back over soon Steve.
Hello Wayne,i would like to talk you soon, iwill be in CM early december, regards Michael
Nice one Michael, hope to see you around the city.
What if your dad got Als, cancer or something else tomorrow, would you return?
Sure, I think anyone would .
Hey Wayne, have you heard anything about Thailand becoming a cashless society by 2026?
I’ve heard about it mate, but it’s the same as everything in Thailand. Will things happen or won’t they. Normally they don’t , but we shall see buddy.
What tax were you speaking of at the end?
Taxing your pension so you will be taxed twice on your pension
The new tax laws coming in, for all money coming into Thailand.
You straddle both cultures, not fully a part of either one. I feel the exact same way, even though I have only lived in the west. I choose not to embrace much of western culture, much of which centers on materialism, but also know I will never be a part of eastern culture. I accept this future bargain before I leave this place someday.
Same
@@legend6463 See you on the other side.
That's a good point Dan. I don't think I'll ever be fully Thai culture. My home is always England but I'll stay away. Let's call it a never ending holiday haha.
Don't forget your re-entry, Wayne.
If you visit the UK, you want to leave the rat race asap.
Getting back into the system after being out of the uk isn't easy , they make every step difficult... stay where you are wayne .
I can't see me being back home for to long.
The same here.
November 6, 2024 will determine how much I can visit the US. I think this election is so consequential it will determine a lot of things for so many throughout the world. GOD HELP US ALL.
You are naive to think that who the president is can change anything !!!!
Expecting God to help was your first mistake.
He will, Daniel chapter 2 verse 44
Good luck William.
Careful mate when you go back..Watch out for the sausage man!!
I'm more of a Cornish pasty man 🤣
Unfortunately,Im 66 and the NZD is only worth 20 Baht and I have no idea how to finance myself the way it is throughout the changing world .If I new what the Thai governments long term plan was, I would feel a lot easier selling up and moving there😎.
I must admit, my Mum does say "it's not great back here" Sorry to hear about your fathers dementia 😟
I hear ya, Pal! Back in Canada, we have an ever changing political climate of shite now! I'm really struggling myself as a father and husband. I'd just as soon move the entire tribe down to Thailand.....but alas, it's not as simple with kids and a wifey......
Nice one buddy, I know it must be hard with a family to up sticks and move. Hopefully you can come over later down the line. Cheers man

Yes mate, can’t see me being back there for to long. I feel depressed just thinking about it .

Happy days mate.
it will scare you going back to england its a nightmare in the west/europe now.
Yea, it’s a frightening thought .
You will always love your country but the decline might be hard to stomach.
True
Most of the returned say don't go back. Really poor reviews about the U.K. And we may have been about one day from a nuclear war. (Good news Robert here). So S.E. Asia may be the safest place Anyway, maybe a brief hello to Mum. But not too long, or you may become a "Brit" again. Yikes!
🤣🤣 Cheers mate
Have you travelled much in your own country? Maybe you could travel & vlog new areas, or is it so God damn expensive why would you bother?
It's not that there aren't inexpensive areas in the UK, it's just that they are garbage, unsafe, unpleasant with nothing to do. For the same price you could be living in Southeast Asia in pure paradise, complete safety, best food in the world, lively everywhere, endless activities, way better living conditions for the money etc. It is just way better value and lifestyle in Thailand and it is completely safe.
I would like to do that in the future mate. I've not travelled much in the UK. Like you said, it would be expensive though. Europe would be good on a motorbike.
To me, my home country is like my ex - I love you but I can't live with you.
Spot on! I love my country, but she can stay on the other side of the world 🤣
Don’t come back!
🤣🤣🤣
I’m coming up to my first year here & i have same concerns, for me what i love here is i have lost my passion/desire to keep up with the latest possessions, plus there is virtually none of that new European word ‘woke’
Very true mate 👍
I can totally relate Wayne, I'm here for the long haul, been here for over a year and a half, got 5 months left on my Ed Visa and I'll be applying for the DTV after that, no plans to ever go back to the UK to live and if I ever can't stay in Thailand for any reason I will go to some other Asian country. I couldn't handle England, I think I'd crack up! Without wanting to get too political it seems to be turning more and more communist all the time!
Happy days Bobby, that's the way mate. I can't see me going back for any length of time. 👍
Wake up? Thats what the whole vlogs about buddy, about not being able to fit in to the west 👍
It isn't even recognisably England anymore. There is no facet of society that they won't try and black-wash or render sustainable, diverse and inclusive, even in the provinces.
It will be very strange if I do go back. Not sure how I'll be feeling. I've heard it's gotten worse.

Hello Wayne. This is a lengthy one but I believe I can help you
After watching all your vlogs and lapping them again I can’t fail but notice one of your most somber and conflicting tones.
