- HKS Japan really know how to make a fast car and the TRB-04 is one of them. After the videos I did on the Yaris GR I really wanted to share this Nissan GTR Suzuki Swift with you to highlight just how awesome HKS are at tuning JDM cars in Japan. Not only is it faster than a GTR but its quicker than the Nissan GTR Nismo edition which is even more indredible.

3x the power for 1.5 sec. I actually dont mind and am mighty impressed with what weight savings and the other modification did to the car than the engine swap. mighty impressive timing for 'just' a 1.4T
To be fair, it's a really small track, this could very well be 15 to 30 secs on the Nurburgring

My own car is nothing special, a Toyota Corolla, but it's more reliable than anything I've ever seen and it's a great family car. Just not very quick. I'd love to see a video on the TRB-03. Keep up the good work, I hope this channel blows up and gets the views it deserves soon!

@@dub537h5 I say why not have an awesome car that can hit the track on the weekend and then take the kids to school on Monday? I also got some badass Recaro "Baby" bucket seats for my daily that color-coordinated with my front buckets and they actually made it look really cool (and had top-notch safety ratings too.) A couple hundred bucks more than your typical cheapo toddler seats, but I think it was money very well spent. I couldn't wait until they were old enough to switch to those uprights.
Pro Tip: Play the safety card to get the wife on board. "Don't you care about the safety of our children? Shouldn't they have more than a cheap Wal-Mart car seat made by other children in third world countries?" Good luck soon-to-be fathers : ]

Huh, Taniguchi at the wheel. Haven't followed car centric stuff for over a decade, but eons ago in the days of Option/D1 DVDs, this guy, Orido and Nomuken just horsing around, Taniguchi was the butt of many jokes... Back when Nomuken was driving the silver ER34 at D1GP and putting out an obscene amount of smoke with each slide, good times. I miss that era.
It's crazy the engineering behind those time attack cars, quick reading around and the TRB-03 broke the sub-50s? Very impressive. Keep up the good work! 👍

But back in the day was lucky enough to own my dream car. 1999 3kgt vr-4. Had lots of driveline stuff done. A bit of go faster parts. I miss it every day.

I had 1.3 GTi and afterwards 1.6 GTi (G16A bottom end + GTi head)...
1.3 was scrapped and 1.6 now owns my best man...

I like your content! I Drive a 2016 Mazda MX5 1.5 (bare bones "Prime Line" trim level as it's called here in germany) and a 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer (CS0) 2.0l Wagon in the "sport" trim line.

I have the same model Suzuki Swift. I think it would be plenty fast at 200hp with a different engine considering it only weighs a single ton
there are kei cars around 700-800kg like the new Honda S660 that could take K20, wide body mods, no lux interior, CF doors and tip scales @ 800kg
I have one as well and can tell you with just a stage 2 tune (downpipe + intake, about 20 or 25 more hp) it feels absolutely amazing. I also know a couple people who have pushed the engine way past 200 hp with stock internals, it is definitely possible and not stupidly expensive

@@riwaaz3705 not really, the engine didn't do that much effectively, with a bit more tuning the original one would probably have achieved the same. What makes the Swift, well, swift, isn't more power but the fact that it corners like there's no tomorrow. Especially with all these mods. And the point of the original comment wasn't about this car, but the Swift in general.

My car is the 31s model Suzuki Swift Sport. Cool video. Can't believe that after all the mods it only gained 1.5s tho (and believe me I know 1.5 is alot, but still).
Its a tiny circuit. Difference will be lot more on a bigger track.

700bhp through 2 wheels, must have some pricey diff, and possibly still has the traction control? I'm struggling to put down more than 350/400bhp without crazy wheelspin, My Saab B204 Astra H van will spin the 17" tyres when you hit boost in 4th gear. 🙊

Mine is a '87 Corsa A TR 1.3S. Still in early stages, but right now, parts go on a list. Won't become a supercar killer. But hopefully decent enough to scare some wannabes in their GTIs.

@@nickcook7408 Not as mean as that, no... But the motor (13SB/LX9) has potential. Irmscher used those for their Corsa special editions back in the day as tuning basis.
I found a setup with 1cylinder/1carb (dual twin 40 Weber carbs) and separate intake channels, as well as a supplier for modified camshafts. Pistons and connecting rods seem to be a problem, as there are no aftermarket suppliers (or I haven't found one yet...).
The transmission is sturdy (5-gear manual) and can/will be optimized later. Target number for now is 100-105 HP, which would be +30-35. And yes, that's small time tuning for most people out there. But I like the idea to have an uncommon engine and modify it rather than pluck everything out of the engine bay and put in the 'biggest thing that fits' (TM).
Other than that, it will be mostly suspension-related work for now (shock absorbers, springs, strut bars,...). And we'll see if the steering needs to be modified. Takes too long side-to-side for my taste. And yes, it's without power steering. But that can also be handled mechanically.
Aero is of no concern right now. Wings wouldn't do squat as it's a FWD and blades would just look stupid on that car. Stripping will not really be necessary as the interior is already minimal. And caging a 4-door daily driver is nothing I look too much forward to do.

Lol. The trb gt86 did its lap on full race slicks and not the Yokohama spec tyres used by Under Suzuki's S15. So. The trb time is not on Yokohama Time Attack sheet as the record.
