      got one sitting in front of me now :) it's a nice bit of kit, feels far more premium than my previous mainstream mech boards. i kinda miss the f and arrow keys sometimes, but i have them mapped to separate layers. It's a bit wasted on me tbh since i can't touch type, but the extra thumb keys and ability to use it as a one handed gamepad make it worthwhile for me. my only complaint is that i'd like to see them offer kailh pro switches, i have the copper speed switches in mine and they're just a little too light and fast for my liking, i plan to pick up some pro purples and swap them out.

    • @thuunderwizzle
      @thuunderwizzle 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve had mine for a few months! The hot swap stuff is nice but I ended up swapping the entire thing out for choc switches to keep a low profile. Default keymap is a lil wonky but it’s remappable. Construction is good and it holds up mostly well. The way it fits together isn’t as solid as I would like. A post fits into a channel and it seems to rattle a bit. Other than that I dyg it

      FalbaTech Redox Gamepad , you're welcome.
      (SUMMARY: *IN SHORT, FalbaTech Redox Gamepad IS AN ERGONOMICAL GAMING KEYBOARD.* )
      I've heavily considered it (there's ErgoDox and Redox variants, I'm going to talk about Redox as that has my interest) for Elite: Dangerous as it's the best 1 handed "Gaming Keyboard" there is.
      Short review:
      Logitech G13 , 22 keys, a tiny hat, an LCD screen, not-detachable wrist wrest.
      Razer Orbweaver: just no. Overpriced, uncomfortable and weird wrist rest situation (also non detachable) Razer Synapse, no thank you, just like the Logitech, they are programmable as in... Yeah, you want to ADD keys to your 104-key keyboard? too bad. (Since the FalbaTech Redox used QMK you can add F13-F24 and other stuff to ACTUALLY add keys) lastly, it has no LCD screen (game stats, news, PC usage was shown on the G13) , it only has 20 finger buttons, Razer claims 30, the Orbweaver has a 2 thumb buttons around the joystick just like Logitech did, that's 22 (the same amount as finger buttons in G13) and then the last 8 are a joystick. Razer is a joke in terms of headsets, Naga, Orbweaver, keyboard quality, the Kailh switch quality problems they had, Synapse, etc.
      ..
      A bit longer than expected, sorry.
      But the very short of it:
      FalbaTech Redox: Cherry MX switches with a good variety to choose from, it can be programmed with QMK meaning you add buttons to your setup, it has more buttons than the other options, it can be left OR right handed, the only saving grace for Razer is they once made a Left-handed Naga, but they never made a right handed Orbweaver? That would be the best bundle/combo to buy, even with the mentioned issues, *IN SHORT, FalbaTech Redox Gamepad IS AN ERGONOMICAL GAMING KEYBOARD.*

    What did he mean by not selling key switches on their own? You can find product pages from multiple different sites that allow you to purchases switches by themselves. They usually sell them in groups of 10 or so per list quantity (1 = 10, 2 = 20, etc). There would be no point in hotswappable keyboards if switches couldn't be sold by themselves.
    Of course, he didn't elaborate on what he meant by that, so I'm just assuming this is the context.

    • @KuryK
      @KuryK 4 ปีที่แล้ว

Extremely up front but maybe a little slow as they are new to the industry but they stand behind their product.

    This keyboard may be expensice but its worth it. The guy who made it is an esports coach in league of legends. Luis Sevilla. Hes seens and tested his fair share of keyboards and knows what the gaming community wants and needs. Desk space is a huge issue in esports tournaments and ergonamics also play a big role in longevity for a pro players career. He seen all the weird style pros have made so they can make space for the mouse on the desk during league tournaments which is why he made the keyboard the way he did. This keyboard took lots of years to make. been waiting since the beginning. Happy Linus team is putting it out there.

    IK im 3 years late, but the layers is where this keyboard really shines. I use the layers to use the F keys, arrow keys, delete, home, and every other key it doesn't have, and its more convenient than a normal keyboard.
    also they have tenting kits now, and they even have a new model coming out with an ortho layout

    For people with a regular keyboard that have to hit enter all the time, you can use the Enter key on the numpad easily with your mouse hand without removing your hand from the mouse by just whacking the numpad-Enter with your thumb while it's still on the mouse. I've been doing it for years and it's so much easier than moving your other hand off the home row.

      I guess you could say .. we don't give the F's. Jokes aside, we actually thought a lot about the F keys along with the other keys, and what we found out is that using one key from the thumb cluster to shift to a layer that has F keys instead of numbers and arrows on WASD is actually a lot faster. You gain speed, a more compact design and you don't really lose anything.

      Manjushri none of those things have to do with how their stuff feels. Spoiler: their stuff feels solid. I have one of their keyboards and it feels great. Looks great too. Corsair also has a good warranty. Frequently their stuff is compared to razor, and tech tubers frequently point out the superior Corsair build quality and warranty. I know these meme keyboard reviews bring people out of the woodwork but let’s be real: “feels like a Corsair” is a compliment in reference to apparent build quality. This is a meme keyboard I’d consider getting if I did much more than game with mine. Being able to have my arms/shoulders not be all scrunched up sounds nice, but I’m done with school so no more essays

    Dygma Raise user here.
    love it. use the tenting kit. I've tried about 6-7 different switches in this thing. currently I'm really liking Gat pro milky yellows.
    Also, everything he mentioned as a complaint, they are addressing in a new keyboard. it will have a tenting kit built in rather than a extra little plate thing underneath it.
    I have no plans to change keyboards.

    • @gospelofrye6881
      @gospelofrye6881 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've jumped on the VIP list for the Defy, and the built-in tenting will be cool... but on my Raise I don't notice the tenting kit being a plate at all. It was a massive upgrade for me, since the feet on the bare keyboard slide on my desk surface, while the more rubbery feet of the tenting kit don't. What angle do you tent to? I use the lowest one, but I think I'll try to teach myself to use a higher angle when I get the Defy... and maybe colemak too.

    I have this keyboard and after the initial weirdness of using a split (and smaller form factor) keyboard for the first time I honestly can't see myself going back to a regular keyboard pretty much ever.
    I run mine fully split as I'm mainly using it for gaming so I have a huge amount of mouse space, then the other half way off to the right-hand side (I changed the cable from the neuron to the right side for extra distance) that I primarily use as a macro pad for hotkeys in OBS.
    Additionally I changed out the keys I got with it for some super light Gateron Clears. I never want to not use this keyboard again, but I'm looking forward to seeing if the tenting makes this even more comfortable to use.
