Looking to purchase some of these engines for my camper van of eBay never realised a service guide was available on TH-cam, now thankfully I can do it properly and not rely on my dealership cutting corners. Thanks again
Good Engine the Cf6 they are on Boeing 767s and 747s alot of operators use these on thier entire fleet yes the 330 has the Cf6 as well with 100 inch fan case as its slightly larger than the 767 fan case which is 94 inch something similar to the PW 4000 engine nice video and gives a little of what goes on in hangar maintanance of aircraft engines
I tell ya what, them fan blades sure are espensive! To save some dough I just took one of em ere blades off my commercial field mower, put it in my bench vice, twisted it some, and ground it to proper length My 747 runs OK now, but shakes a bit Probly be fine, and I saved a whole bunch money!
This lubricant compound / spray is called molykote. It is a high performance Anti-Friction lubricant, can withstand extreme tempreatures and speed. Final result is : less vibration of the N1, results in less vibration in Airframe/Aircraft.
Avoid of delay, and lowering maintenance costs, we do always in flight conditions. Little bit cold, and windy, but after a few times, You get use to it. :D
Sometimes they come apart by themselves. The bigger they get the more inertia there is at the tips. At MTO they sound like a buzz saw. Vibration is not a good thing for any engine.
Ok....I'm sure every wrench turning nerd like me is wondering the same thing....so I'll say it....why on a multi-million dollar jet engine....are they using bolts that are longer than necessary? I love videos like this BTW...thank you!
As a retired b52 mechanic and tsa captain. I would have to disagree with the instruction in this video. The blade to to shroud clearance should be checked after replacement of any fan blade.
Rather surprising that you don't have to re-balance the fan. At 3600 RPM, it only takes a small imbalance with something that size be vibrate like crazy,
+ crapper1 Lol..or how about the eight modest-sized bolts that hold the whole engine to the wing. Hell it may be only four , I can't remember, all I know is that I was taken aback when I seen the video.
+crapper1 I don't think so, I think the bolt and nut are there to prevent seperation of the spacer, clip and retainer. Most fanblades have some sort of "teeth" shaped tracks which aligns with aditionally teethshaped tracks on the fan disc. I think those tracks are the structure which holds the blade in place
The blades have a T-shaped end, which fits in the slots of the fandisc. The spacers and other thingies prevent the blade from moving axially ('forward' or 'backward') and press the T-shaped end in its seat, so that it doesn't wiggle (which would be catastrophic at those high rpms). The radial load from the blades is taken by the fandisc directly; it can deal with it. Made of some sort of titanium alloy. Really expensive thing...
Thanks, Saved alot of money doing it myself
Ricardo Tabanico I decided to do it by myself as well. Luckily this video showed how.
Well that's saved me a trip out...I was about to drop my A330 down to Halfords for a new fan blade

Wahnsinn es gibt schon Intelligente Menschen auf der Welt wo solche Maschinen erfunden haben .
Thank you so much, now I can do it with my own Airbus A330.
+computergames5 Or my personal working GE CF6 engine model. :)

I just did mine. It worked!
I'm a really big fan of this video.
Thank you...now to send my aircraft mechanic resume out to several airlines.
Nice trick
My self I do it differently
I will try this
Thank you 🇩🇿🇩🇿🇩🇿🇩🇿🇩🇿👍👍👍

Very good job😍😍😍😍
This video makes it seem very easy to get these blades out and in. Let me tell you from experience, these blades don't play nice 😂
Lovely music and good voice
What a beautiful Fan blades.
Geesh I could almost change the fan blade with this guide
I skipped step 3 and forgot about the spacers, but my plane flew Okey.
Nice video.......................
you are genius people
Fan tastic ! 👏
Does this turbo have variable blades? I'd like to install this to my tdi passat.
It's got 6 sets of them.
Very nice instruction.
wow never knew that one blade was changeable in pieces.thanks for that knowledge
Each blade costs a kidney :o) and they receive impacts very often...
super..very easy to make jet engine

Now i have to get a CF6 Engine to put it in my garden to use this knowledge
lol
Very accuracy work.
Can I buy third brand blades from eBay ?
When we think about it, we can tell life of many people traveling by planes everyday is depends on maintance guys.
Very nyc work
What does the lubricant apply on STG1 fan blade for what?

@@SUPERCHARGE7 Yes, and not cheap...About $55 US dollars a can.
Great mr joe
officially i am an engine managment technician now after watching this video
That's good. Can u just not work on the plane I get on though..... LOL
+VWGTI when is your flight airport and time please
Nice tacknical work
yang baik untuk yang baik!
So that's how they replace one of the three Norelco blades for Chuck Norris's shaver...
WOW! NICE CAN U PLZ POST DRUNK PILOTS REMOVAL FROM THE FLIGHT DECK ?
SO many chance for human error...good Lord!
Mid-span shroud, It'll get you every time.
nice bro
good idea to use that fan in my room
Installation tool available at harbor freight? My GE engines becoming a money pit.
WHAT ABOUT MARK PROTECTION BEFORE SPRAY
and now with a complete set fanblades with new platform seals :)
I like ti👍

धन्यवाद 😁😁😁😁🔧🔨🔩✈🚀
can this operation be performed in flight?
Avoid of delay, and lowering maintenance costs, we do always in flight conditions. Little bit cold, and windy, but after a few times, You get use to it. :D
Thanks for sharing! Amazing how massive the blades are! How much a blade weight?
I wanna know too ☺️
thank you so much for sharing vedio...Dnt you have other vedios?
This video doesn't explain how to properly remove bird remains from the motor
Flamethrower....
GE engines any good ?
@soaringtractor you are the most annoying POS ever
Why im watching this?

Strange backing musical track for this procedure????
This is scary think about this @ 40 thousand feet...Wow..
и всё-таки без молотка никак )))
If anyone needs there fan blade removed and rebuilt , I am in the know how to do this job. Contact me via PM for low pricing.
ilovemywife2685 sxaaa
yo mate i gotta old 757 of my granpa and the bad boy got some problem with blades. how much would it cost to replace them blades
Thank you sir, that will be $3000 plus any parts.
No safety wire?
Don't need it, they're stiff nuts on the bolts, but they should be replaced if the run up torque is too low
@@superseven220 Nice...We call them locknuts.
Where does one get a can of the lube?
It looks like Molykote
Will the procedure work on a A340 ?
xl ,🌵🎐🎐🇬🇷😵. 🤑😂.
Yep...you can apply the same procedure to a fan blade in a car...😂😂
Yep - only a problem, no GE CF6 on 340 :P :D
Sounds like a Mellotron being used in the soundtrack.
Special blade tool available from factory for under 50,000 USD
madisonelectronic *China makes them for $50*
Love the organ funeral music, are we acknowledging the death of the 330 at the hands of the 777?

Is this video made for the Do-it-yourself guys....??
Why don't GE giving hand gloves to worker,,, , , you are GE dear bro

Had to pull regularly meself up for thinking I was going to a funeral.
How times have changed,
Why am I watching this I don't even own an Airbus A330 GE CF6 engine
Who is the team that has to write the service manual for these. Holy shit, it must be like a 24 set of encyclopedia Britannica.
I like this music. What is it
I changed my fan blade, but there still seems to be a wobble in the engine. I guess I am off to pep boys to get a replacement.
huh. That's same way I change blades on my bedroom ceiling fan.
I'm lost in TH-cam again ☹️
A380 airbus will burn 81,890 gallons of kerosene every 24 hours, and they blame the motorist .
How many cars run on kerosene?
I wonder how much one of those fan blades cost... Anyone have an idea ??
FOR 744F CF6-80C 4000USD FOR ONE FAN BLADE.
Found one on Ebay for a lot less.

Each blade has a pre-measured moment arm value marked etched on the blade, and the clip in fact points it out.
so those blades that spin really freaking fast are basicly held on with a small bolt and squeezed on by a clip basicly!!

BASICLY
The engines are hold to the wing with only 4 bolts each.

Ok
Are you a illerate or are you a student or qualified aircraft engineer
Only one bolt for each fan blade? Now we know what happened on the SW flight.
i would like cell my boeing 777 engine
everything is possible.I will too.
High levels of sulphuric acid from kerosene in the atmosphere are causing serious problems of engine corrosion. so much going on I would never fly.
WHY BACKGROUND MUSIC?
i don't want any voice in the middle of music
As if I will have 2 do one
would feel a lot better about flying if they wrapped duct tape everywhere..........then maybe engines wouldn't keep falling off.
Duct tape. The jet mechanics secret weapon.
