Heung min son has scored 16 goals while being away for one month at the asian games. Maddison was fantastic before his injury. Spurs are in the first season of a rebuild and have improved from last season. These guys speak nonsense.
We're obviously not a better team without Kane! But our team this year is better than last year when Kane was in it. Destiny, Micky, Sarr and Maddison before his injury are the reasons why.

Does anyone sees parallels between Ange's first season and Erik's ? Both are system based coaches that initially 'transformed' the way their clubs played - getting good results, being a breath of fresh air while walking into dysfunctional clubs. Like EtH, Ange's side is ambling towards the end of season having been found out by opponents.

Genuinely curious if people are just ranting and throwing mud at a guy on the internet cos it's easy or because they have some kind of coherent response to what he's saying. His point on Ange seems fairly self-evident, do people disagree that he needs to be more pragmatic and adaptable, as Rory put it?

Ange Postecoglou is a great manager who does a great job. The big problem here is the injury crisis and its simply not possible to change tactics in the middle of the season. Everyone is expecting that he changes everything but thats just not possible to make in such a short time. The 5th place is a great archivement for the first season. There were a few unfurtunate things that hapaned but I agree that something has to change. But change takes time.

Some of the things said here are pathetic “replacing Harry Kane with James Maddison” - wtf? - yet again the media both mainstream and part-time enthusiasts like these people have to go OTT in both directions rather than reporting in a sensible well balanced way - I sometimes wonder if guys like this deliberately misquote or misinterpret what people say or are simply not intelligent enough to work it out properly - when Postecoglou was talking about CL he clearly meant that he was more ambitious than 4th place and that was where his main focus is - anybody with half a brain should be able to work out what he meant - the same people who talked him up after ten games are pretty much the same people who are trashing him now but that is the media for you - the changes this year both in terms of the line up and the way the team plays are radical changes - to expect things to go well after less than a year is ridiculous - in reality the people fans should be criticising are the pundits - they said from almost the get go that he was the way forward for Spurs whilst Postecoglou has remained consistent throughout saying that Spurs to him were a piece of work in progress and that things would take time but he was confident they can get there
As an Aussie who’s watched and played with some of his previous players from the very very beginning since he managed the AUS youth teams, Ange does not give a flying f*ck what any of the British media or clowns on social media say and will live or die behind his philosophy. The premier league is lucky to have him.

Chelsea concede 5 to Arsenal and Spurs only lost 3-2 with Romero hitting the post and Son missing a one-on-one. Yet this qualifies as a battering?. in his first season and Spurs in 5th, imagine what Ange could have done with $2 billion pounds.

Not too long ago Rory was talking about the fact that it was unbelievable to him that the whole league wasn’t talking about how abysmal his own team’s manager is and how he hasn’t been fired.
As a Celtic fan I’ve seen how much of an impact Ange can have. Is that a totally different level from the Premier League? Yes, but I think the issue is the team not getting behind him and executing his game plan. He also took full responsibility full Tottenhams poor performance when he didn’t have to and could have blamed the players. I think this shows what kind of man he is and it’s ridiculous that the team aren’t giving him more.
Rory has to realise that his hypocrisy and contradictions make him look daft and lowers the validity of his opinions.
Take the win and move on. At the end of the day you are eighth and they are battling for top four. That says more than anything you could muster up for engagement purposes.

Rory lacks common sense
Ange's style is too rigid and requires a sort of pure football, which is a pipe-dream. His system needs very specific players and with transfers both in and out will take a very long time with negotiations and contract constraints. So to my mind impossible.
Football is simple really. Create time and space going forward so your attackers have more chances to score, and keep it tight giving your opposition no time and space to score when you defend.
Ange's style of play does the opposite.

No offence to Tottenham fans but having watched nearly all of their games
early in the season and then witnessed his stubborn comments I genuinely suspected that Tottenham wouldn’t be able to do that throughout the entire season. Playing at extremely high intensity levels takes a lot out of players and you are just inviting injuries suspensions and burnouts. When you only play one way how long before you’re found out. The best coaches are unpredictable. There’s a reason why AP wasn’t being chased by any of the big clubs and had reached the age of 58 but had never managed a top club

The tactic of raising the defensive line is very vulnerable to counterattacks and is also a tactic that consumes a lot of stamina on the center back defender. That's why VDV gets injured often. As a Chelsea fan I welcome being in the European conference league as it’s a chance to win a trophy and it’s still European competition regardless.
Spurs , if they want to be serious contenders unfortunately while Postecoglou is a nice guy and has good attacking intent, he doesnt have the pedigree to take spurs to the next level. Anges style has been easy to figure out and to be honest since kane left the squad is actually stronger, van de ven, udogie, johnson, werner on loan, maddison.... Give him time but he doesnt have the pedigree to take them further. Conte is a serial winner, who in his first season qualified them for ucl and was actually sacked when spurs were in 4th place. Moruinho got spurs to a final before getting sacked. If spurs want to be genuine contenders they need to get a manager with pedigree and back him and give him time.... Tuchel, zidane, allegri, not a guy whose biggest job was celtic
