"People should buy more cars with their money so that i can make more money which I won't use to buy a car anyway, because its my hard earned money now. "🤓🤢

I bought my first car 6 months after my child was born purely for safety of the child. I promised myself not to take the infant on a two wheeler until she's grown big enough to wear a helmet.
    My rules were:
    1) total cost not over 50% of my annual gross income
    2) emi not over 15% of my monthly net
    3) buy a top variant of a smaller car than a base variant of a bigger one
    4) definitely an automatic to drive in Bangalore and that too a CVT
Finally, my today's advice to my 5 year younger self, for a first car, I should have gone with a certified pre-owned to save some money and still get the brands assurance.

Deepak: In metros, we see people churn their cars in less than 3 years ...
Shashank: Is there an impact on the environment when this happens?
Deepak: In metros, there is no environment, so we can't discuss beyond a point ...
    What a witty remark! 😀
I bought my current car fully out of pocket, never thought that I should take a long term EMI instead. I guess it depends on the individual. Personally, I prefer to not have liabilities if I can avoid it. I don't agree about buying insurance from the dealer, people are more informed than ever, so many apps make the process easy now, the challenge is convincing the dealer to allow you to buy the car without their insurance, as they push back a lot, no doubt its revenue opportunity for the dealer. Another fact to keep in mind is that the dealer and your service center are not necessarily going to be the same.
    Keep the series going!

Important topic but felt the guest was extremely biased given his profession (appreciate the disclaimer at the start) to be commenting on this topic. Would've personally also liked if questions like buying a car vs uber/public transport were discussed in more detail (could sense Pattu restraining himself from speaking his mind out 😂).
Nonetheless, a great initiative! Can't wait for more episodes to hear Pattu's insights.

    Hi,
We haven't seen any videos for the past two weeks. Your content with Pattu sir is awesome. Could you please let us know when the next episode will be released? I am eagerly waiting to watch it. Also, could you inform us about the release schedule for new episodes? Will they be released weekly or monthly?
Thank you for providing so much valuable information for free.

Pattu sir and offspin, sorry but, u guys messed up this time. U got a sales guy to come in and say that a car makes financial sense to keep buying. Of course he is going build that narrative.
I'm a petrol head and I have changed 4 cars in 15yrs and I can tell u that I also peddle the BS economics to my wife to get her buy in everytime, knowing fully well that I'm making a mistake.
I'm happy to tell you all my mistakes with car buying and paying emis and what I have learnt from it all and what my next mistakes are going to be in this category.

The episode should have been focussed on how to decide on the budget of the car, what are the maintenance, insurance costs, Loan vs Cash payment, long term car costs with fuel, what comfort car offers to family, etc, etc.
    Didn't get any clear answers.
This episode is average considering the past episodes.

Wow ! if a Doctor who is Surgeon, also your Family doctor , knows what is problem with your health and what's cost of treatment as he is insurance agent too. It's hard to get that kind of terrible combination anywhere in the world. Insurance is as it's sold.

Deepak is talking absolute nonsense. Any how he deals for ultra rich ( more than 1 cr). Majority of people like me can safely ignore him

Please DO NOT buy a car, if you don't need it. Think 10 times before buying one. In metros there's no need of buying one for a very very large majority of people. The costs accrue and there's literally no peace of mind cost to benefit. Dont buy a car just because you have a place to park it.

Such a sad episode - the guy callously says there is no environment in the metros and we all laugh cynically.Alas, sadly the truth.

Yeah and he suggests Tier 2 and 3 cities are better off environment wise because there the spending on public transport and infra is less (no construction activities?) So damage to environment is less. Laughable.

16 minutes into this and hands down the worst episode of the series. Are you thinking of bringing a MF distributor next?
