+Maria rodriguez Nah, it's because Lady and the Tramp was set in Italy so they made her tan and The Lion King was set in Africa. If you've actually watched The Lion King, Nala's fur is way lighter than the skintone on here. It's based on what country they're from and what they're animal personas look like.

I don't like to be picky, but I always imagined O'Malley from the Aristrocats to be a black jazz player. Just because of his voice and the time period it was supposed to be set in. Other than that all the illustrations were very well done.

That's reasonable. I think the artist went with the fact that O'Malley is an orange cat and translated that to red hair on a human.

I cant believe people expected Simba and Nala to be white. If they were human they would be black, point blank. The movie takes place in Africa. Their lion "Pride" would be an African tribe if they were humans. White people living in Africa are not natives, they're invaders. I'm so sick of all the ignorance smh.
+Des Yes, and did these fools notice that Simba and Nala are Swahili names and words. Swahili, a Bantu African language. Did they not notice that many of the songs were chanting phrases in Zulu in the background. Zulu, another Bantu African language. Did they not notice that these characters are played by black actors on Broadway. There's already black people playing them in a live action show. Don't you just hate it when people can't hide their ignorance?

Exactly! I agree with you :) I don't personally care much about the race of characters but like why do people have a problem with them being black? I don't expect Mulan to be black? I don't expect snow white to be black? It will make the most sense for the lion king characters to be black because of their culture !

This video, in some ways, blew my mind because it took my favorite Disney animal characters and interpreted them into human characters. It makes one wonder how the film would have been different if the characters were originally humans rather than animals.

Oliver and company, Bolt and the Jungle Book were the best in my opinion. Very well drawn and it's what I imagined they would look like..

I'm so happy the artist made the faces actually similar to the animals. I saw another thing like this the other day, but all the characters looked nothing like the original except for the colors.

Just reminded about magical Disney movies are. Even their new ones. I'm in my mid 30s with no kids but I still go to Disney Land for the magic...and the Turkey Legs, and mickey mouse on a stick, and all the food!
Disney land is for people of all ages... it's not like their going and riding all the kiddie rides, the foods good too..

They're from Africa... The majority of African people are black.. I guess that's why she didn't match the color of the fur if it's that what you want to say.
I've seen some others with a similar idea but I like these much better. They make sense and they look great and I can really see the characters they're inspired from quite well.

They were Indian.
The jungle book was based in India(as you can tell from their names) and the Lion King was based in Africa, although in the Lady and the Tramp and the Aristocats is set in the UK and they were white, so enjoy YOUR representation.

Blurry Birb I'm pretty sure that there's black people and other races in the U.K. besides white people so that's not really that valid. But I agree with everything else you said. So maybe if the animal had dark fur she could've made them had dark skin.

the horse one was fab, i love how he actually designed them all in outfits of their own time-set.
Fun fact! All of the colors for clothing and skin are on the original character or are a slightly different color but in the exact same shade as their fur. Nala and Simba's skin color are actually on the original characters, mostly found in the shading of their fur. Cool, huh?

The Zootopia characters drawn in a 1960s and 1970s hard scratchy look Xerox style (after all, Nick Wilde's design is heavily modeled off the title character from Robin Hood (1973) (who is also a fox).
