    For me I like the fact that the programs are typically shorter and also cheaper. Plus you get to live overseas. What more could you ask for?

    Debating on whether on not to get my Masters in Spain and I'm so glad I came across your video. We have pretty much the exact same reasons for studying abroad. For me the cost is especially important. The cost of a Masters degree in America is disheartening and one of the main reasons I'm hesitant to get my degree. I've also been wanting to move abroad meet new people and immerse myself in other cultures.
    Now my main concern is getting older and settling down. I'm turning 30 and my biological clock is ticking, but if I want to settle down in the future it would be difficult to have a family and take on the amount of debt it takes to get a Masters degree here in the states. I don't think I'd be able to study abroad with a family although I'm sure it's possible. It's just one of those things I want to take on without the added baggage. A lot to think about - Thanks so much for uploading this!

I absolutely love having different life experience and enjoy building connections with people from diverse background. Thanks for making inspiring videos as always.

    Thank you so much for making this video! I'm in the exact same position. I love london, and relocated there for 2 months last year (I'm self-employed so I could work remotely) and I've been considering doing a masters in england on and off for 8 years. Seems like a student visa is way easier than finding a brit to marry me, which seems the only other way to get employed. I studied abroad in germany in 2012 as part of undergrad for the life experience mostly (and my uni paid entirely for me to live their because of my financial aid), but now it's a mix of wanting the degree (at 1/2-1/5th the price of getting it in the US) and to live in London. I could do a masters in germany for free, but it's twice as long. Anyway, thanks a bunch. I'm saving cash like bananas right now and I think I would be able to move there by 2021 and pay for it in cash. This was such a helpful video!

    Hey love your videos! beautiful content keep it up :)
    I'am a 20 years old Sudanese born and raised in Qatar and currently studying in BA Mass Comm and majoring in PR at Malaysia. I think what made me decide to study abroad is really getting out of my comfort zone to fully evolve I have always been sheltered and from a small town so I've always had the urge to live independently without relying on my parents. I guess as well for the fact that I'm a third culture kid so being around different cultures is the norm for me.

    Kchoi, Thaks for the video. I got my MBA outside of the United States...kind of. At the time I was in the Air Force, stationed in Japan, but going to the University of Maryland's MBA program. That school has a partnership with the DoD to set up campuses in different nations with DoD activities. There were students and faculty from a lot of countries. My MBA class had students from Isreal, Japan, Korea, United States, Germany, and Norway. Some were military members and their spouses, some were international professionals in Japan that wanted to complete an American MBA program. I am out of the Air Force now but still living in Japan, so I actually will run into them sometimes or meet up occasionally.

In North America it seems like MBA is a big thing, while degrees like Master of Finance are viewed as "junior" degrees. I was wondering though for european grad school programs specifically, did you need work experience before applying that was related to the degree you were going to study in? I’m American and I also want to study abroad in Europe but many grad school programs require my undergrad or work experience to be the same field of study that I’m applying for, so I’m having trouble deciding if I should apply or if I can get in any programs.

    • @bykchoi
      @bykchoi  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      For my program in particular, you could have 0 years of work experience (straight from undergrad) or a few years (there were even a few people who had 5+ years of experience). We also had two “routes,” one for people who studied business in undergrad and one for people who didn’t (the required/elective course options were a little different). Most program descriptions should specify if work experience or previous study in the field is required or not!

    I congratulate you for receiving your Master's degree in London. Are you planning to do a PhD or are you done studying? I live in Ottawa, Canada and I did my MA in Classical Studies through Distance Learning at the Open University for two years from 2015 to 2017. I went to the Open University because it was the only university which excepted all students and they did not ask for too much to enter in such as letter of recommendations from your professors, a letter of intent, a resume, and a piece of work which you done. Furthermore you do not need a high mark to pass your Master's degree in Classical Studies at the Open University. You can get as low as 40% which is considered a pass there. It costed over 2,000 euros for my MA in Classical Studies Part 1 and over 5,000 euros for my MA in Classical Studies Part 2 which costed over $11,000 in Canadian money. I did the MA in Classical Studies just for general interest. I was still living in Ottawa, Canada. I was doing my degree through Distance Learning on my laptop.

    I am currently applying for a MiM in UK for 2020 and I find your videos soooo helpful. However, I’m a bit concerned that because the program is only one year long, it’s hard to fully immerse myself in a different culture. Also, I feel like have to start looking for a future job as soon as I start my masters study. Do you have any advice on this issue? Thanks!

    • @bykchoi
      @bykchoi  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah recruiting generally starts that first/fall semester especially for graduate schemes! One year goes by fast for sure. I feel lucky because I got a taste of British culture during my semester abroad in undergrad, and then London was completely different because it’s so international.

    your videos are really informative and as someone who has been interested in getting a degree abroad they are really helpful as well! i have a question i hope you can answer.. im currently in undergrad but unfortunately it is very unlikely that i will be able to study abroad due to the rules at my current university, however I am thinking about going to the UK for my masters, how would you suggest i get a feel for what its like to live and study abroad before I commit to getting my masters in the UK?

      if you could visit that would probably be the next best option, but if not, there are lots and lots of videos on youtube about life in the uk/studying in the uk!

    Hello, I am a law student in Iraq. My dream is to complete a master’s degree in a foreign country such as Britain or America 😪❤️, but I see that studying a master’s degree in Britain is cheaper compared to America!? But I ask you to explain more to us, because I am a student in an Arab country, what is required of me in order to accept any university in Britain, because I love so much to live that experience 🥺❤️

      Not sure to be honest! London School of Economics and London Business School are definitely more well-known in the US.
