Eaglet #2 is dead,.killed by his older sibling. He was 60 days old if I'm not mistaken. I followed this nest since they hatched. This is certainly not the outcome I was hoping for 😢

This was a very difficult Video to Watch. The Implications stare one in the Face. Given the Current circumstances, it had to end this Way. Food supply was but a fraction of what it was . In the End, we find one Instinct overrides all other others as a Motive for Action--Instinct for self preservation. Ultimately, what failed here was an inadequate Food Supply for both E's to thrive on. It wasn't a Primal urge by the older Eaglet to do harm to it's younger Sibling --ever present Mom with food( mainly from Dad) kept that urge at bay and they treated each other as sibling sets found in other Raptor families and most of those never fight thru most of that chick-teen phase(even Raptors on meat and bird diets like Peregrene Falcons.)
It was a Real Pleasure to watch #2 gauge ,each day, how to react to it's older sibling--how close to approach or distance itself from-- many times standing right next to each other, waiting for food that many times never came to the nest.
Wonderful Parents Here at this nest. They tried their Best for their family. But in the end, they could not provide the food necessary to feed and Thrive their E's to Fledging and become part of that rare 5% or so Parents to fledge 2 G E eaglets successfully in one yr.

I gave up watching a GE Nest earlier this yr in Romania as the older E savaged it's younger sibling to death a few days after it hatched. The Price for watching a GE Nest is too much if the Price is the life of one of the 2 Hatchlings.
I shall give up watching GE Nests and limit myself to Bald Eagle Nests, where Sibling Cannibalism is a very rare occurrence. Eaglets in those nests fight(Bonk) each other-- but with plenty of food in good supply, such behavior fades as they grow into Young Adults near Fledging.There are many Raptor nests to watch and in many, there is no fighting going on at all and all chicks survive to fledge--a successsful Nest Yr for the fledglings and their Parents. 7月6日の夜 上の子のストレスが爆発して下の子に酷い攻撃をするのを私は見た😫このままだと…上の子に下の子は絶対に殺される‼️と思った。次の日の7日 朝 5時35分から6時04分までの30分間の攻撃で下の子は上の子に殺された😭😭下の子は4日間 餌も食べられず…逃げる体力も無かった😭😭ここまで育った下の子が 上の子によって殺された事は非常に残念だ😭でも…もう下の子はイジメられる事も無くなった。天国で【大空を】元気に羽ばたいてね🌈🦅💞✨今まで可愛らしい姿を見せてくれて ありがとう❤🦅🙏😭😭
