The reason this doesn't work on most school laptops is because the admin usually revokes privileges for the command prompt terminal, making the batch file redundant, they do that stupid shit which A. blocks any form of entertainment, but B. any 3rd party software that teachers might want to use, either making it incredibly tedious to install it on all their students devices, or just not being able to use it at all and having to throw out an entire unit plan because some asshole didn't want to let kids have privileges on devices that are already monitored by the government.
fr I even have a story for it. These dumb unfunnable teachers dont want us having fun on our school computers. Because what if their mom couldn't afford one and they just gonna block it. These stupid ass teachers need some more respect because A. They only need students for money and learning. B. Their using us. And C. They don't even care if we don't go because now I know they using us for money and shit. I'm saying school ain't shit. I mean I hated school since 1st grade. Like there's nothing fun to do over there. Like why cant schools never exsist and we can have a brain already.

Make sure you're not installing directly into the programs folder, try and install in the same folder as you're running the batch file from

Yooo, Ik ur a busy man but, I have a question. When I open the command prompt, the 1st sentence displays the command prompt has been disable by your administrator. Anyway I can fix this? I am trying to download a old and fun game called Crossfire.
Some apps I've done with this bypasser still makes me type in admin password regardless.
I think the reason some things don't work is because this setup is supposed to get past an initial admin screen, but some programs like the EpicGames launcher makes you put in one on the install screen. But i was able to download some stuff so thanks for the video man

So, i wanted to download a video editing software on my school computer. I've seen this video before, but I didn't try it because I didn't think it'd work due to the comments..but it did when I finally gave it a go! I was trying to download lightworks, and I renamed the lightworks application so I can cut down on what I had to type after the word 'start' on the notepad. After I put it in the folder it'd download but said it couldn't 'write' and the download/setup process was not complete. So what I did is, when it opened or tried to download I changed the destination to the '.bat' folder and then it worked for me and completely finished downloading. I was so worried it wouldn't work lmao. thank you soo much!

What about pasting files on a restricted folder? I can't paste riot's vanguard on the program files.

Make sure when you choose the loacation, you choose the folder you created. It will ask you where you want to save it once complete near the beginning. Works like a charm.
Sometimes its different. You may have to select custom install.

still works in 2020! I just did this with a different program besides steam. I did second life! At first I thought it didn't work because, it asked me for ADMIN pass, but, my file was asking to extract , and i told it to extract the files to the "new folder or name of the folder to get whatever program you want folder" and it just worked like a charm!

@@amariyahhilton1127 it probably depends, like not every app is going to work unfortunately, but whatever it is you should put the exact name of the program so for example if it says leagueoflegends_05.06 Setup, you would put start leagueoflegends_05.06_Setup like you would put the exact exact name. n then erase out The command: part so it would say set_COMPAT_LAYER=RunAsInvoker then the start thing . Hope this help. If it doesn't work then that just means some apps will work with this and some won't unfortunately :C

it did not work for me I had this. league is the name of the application I was trying to run. it still came up with admin password needed

I do this and it launches, but everytime it opens and i log in, it has to initialize, and then update/download when i open it, and it just says something went wrong, when i did everything right :/

Hes talking about installation privileges not download ones, you have to download before you install. sounds like your school is locked down tight or they just quickly set that up in the browser you're using, try using another browser as well try playing around with the set download location in browser settings
For different schools its different, some schools have there shit on lockdown, and some are really easy to get past, so if you have a problem it probably just means you did it wrong or the school has better protection
there a solution and it is hack the password of admin acount of computer by cmd :
1/go to run by click on windows logo+R
2/write cmd and click enter
3/on cmd write net user
4/then you will see account existing on computer
5/write on cmd net user (name of account admin) * note: you have to write the star*
6/then change the password directly with out writing previouse password

This didnt work for me, i was trying to install "Python-3.6.0.exe". Another way to fix it is to put cmd /min /C "set __COMPAT_LAYER=RUNASINVOKER && start "" "%1"" and save it as .bat . Then drag your program on it.

Method to make fortnite work
Try installing the epic games launcher on the other laptop (your own laptop not school) and run it. It is like around 8 GB so have a 16 GB usb and convert it into it ( the whole folder). Once it is in your USB , transfer the whole file into your school laptop, after it have been done, search "epicgames"(

This is wrong. The only way it will ask for admin password is if you run steam as admin. I have done this at school and it works.
And its impossible to run as admin if you don't have the password.
