Rain is crazy online, fought a few badass rain players. Once they get those combos going it gets crazy
Combos? What about his frame data and gameplay? Is it decent? I don’t have it yet. Combos mean nothing if the character is garbage.
@@Strat10100Yeah, his gameplay and all that is good. Most of his launchers aren't punishable and you don't have to rely on his specials to much. He also has really good mixups, with a overhead and low launcher.(but thats just me, most of the rains I play just utterly mix me but this is the second Mortal Kombat I've played so I'm still an amateur).
@@Strat10100he has 2 combo extender moved that aren’t specials or require EX. Along with along of safe strings & mixups. Even a few unblockable setups.

Couple things coming from a rain main:
- down 3 is the better poke for it’s crazy range, I abuse it bcuz most of rain’s strings are mad slow
- use the projectile shield in order to “blind” ur opponent to what ur doing. Especially if they’re jumping in or trying to close the gap
- portals, portals, portals! Cancel ur strings into portals all the time bcuz it throws ppl off when they’re on the field and they don’t know how to deal with them. If you teleport in their face after doing f2,3 for example they’ll poke you out of it at best and rarely punish hard
- you can cancel f3 into a grab for some reason but it works every time
- I prefer scorpion as my cameo he lets you convert basically everything into a full dmg combo. although sub is nice for the “unblockable” setup
Correction on the portal thing: F2,1*
I was going with scorpion kameo but I just discover sektor, the pressure you can put is insane (but the kombos are shorter)

One thing rain needs a buff on is some of his strings range. For having summonable water and a staff he’s got such limited range. Especially since he’s more of a zoner he can’t do anything without getting in their face
More specifically his 1,1 his F2,3,1 and his B2

Scorp is much better as a cam then sub for rain imo. Perfect combo extender and great wake up or armor to combos. But great sub gameplay either way.

I love Rain
if you time the setup right with rain you can meaty the forward 3 with and even if they eat the portal, your forward 3 will leave them standing. thats how you know you time it properly. and if they delay wakeup alot you can dash after your charger projectile and timed properly your setup will do the same to their delay wakeup as well.

Im a rain main and he is alot higher on the tier list than people think. Hes just not broken like the god tier(raiden,johhny,mileena). His projectiles need to buffed. There way to slow. I feel like everyones projectiles are lighting fast, but his.

With rain everything is based on using the bubble and traping
There were moment where I didn't have any game audio at all in some of my matches
I use rain with sector gonna have to try him with sub zero to keep combo going

7:18 this audio problem isn't a mk1 problem. It's a ps5 issue that happens in every game annoyingly
gradually losing more interest in these vids been watching over a year and personally think playing the same opponent 3 or more times is boring unless its very even
Hope you read this, because I am a big fan. You absolutely CANNOT come out with a character that sonicfox has already put a video out for. Your rain videos come out one or 2 days after sonicfox has rain videos out. Watching you play after seeing his video is depressing. Feel like I gave my baby the sticks and the baby just hitting buttons compared to his technically sharp videos
