  • 🦶Spinal cord stimulators (SCS) are medical devices that can be used to manage chronic pain, including peripheral neuropathy and back pain. They work by delivering electrical impulses to the spinal cord, which modify or interrupt the pain signals traveling to the brain. This process can help alleviate pain and improve overall quality of life for individuals suffering from chronic pain conditions.🦶

These links should give you some local doctors & more information regarding stimulators. Check with a doctor and you can do a 1 week trial to see if it is effective for you.
Here's how spinal cord stimulators typically work:
Trial Period: Before implanting a permanent device, a temporary trial period is conducted to determine the effectiveness of the therapy. During this phase, a temporary lead or electrode is placed near the spinal cord, and the patient uses an external stimulator to deliver electrical impulses.
Implantation: If the trial period is successful and the patient experiences significant pain relief, the next step is to proceed with the permanent implantation. A small pulse generator, similar to a pacemaker, is placed under the skin, usually in the abdomen or buttock area. Electrodes are inserted near the spinal cord, and they are connected to the pulse generator via thin wires.
Stimulation Parameters: Once the system is implanted, the patient works closely with their healthcare provider to adjust the stimulation parameters to achieve optimal pain relief. The settings can be adjusted based on individual needs and preferences.
    Benefits of Spinal Cord Stimulators:
Pain Relief: Spinal cord stimulators can provide significant pain relief for various chronic pain conditions, including peripheral neuropathy and back pain. They offer an alternative for individuals who may have not responded to other conservative treatments.
Reduced Medication Dependency: By managing pain through electrical stimulation, spinal cord stimulators can potentially reduce the need for pain medications. This can help minimize the side effects and risks associated with long-term medication use.
Improved Functionality: Chronic pain can limit one's ability to perform daily activities. Spinal cord stimulators may improve functionality by reducing pain, allowing individuals to engage in activities they were previously unable to enjoy.
Reversibility: Unlike some surgical interventions, spinal cord stimulators are reversible. If the device does not provide the desired pain relief or if the patient's condition changes, the system can be removed without causing permanent damage.
It's important to note that spinal cord stimulation is not suitable for everyone, and it requires careful patient selection and evaluation by a healthcare professional. Potential candidates typically undergo comprehensive assessments to determine if they are suitable for this type of therapy.

I have crps I'm on gabapentin oxycodone xtanpza and more I'm 30 I have mine on 58 out of 60 it only helps me 32% but I wouldn't be able to walk without it if I didn't have the meds I would be screwed with crps the pain signals never shut off the pain feels like someone doused you with lighter fluid then threw a match on you and you are burning alive from the inside out and my central nervous system is malfunctioning it feels like I'm being electrocuted at the same time I have a service dog to help me as well. That dog is a lifesaver. Dogs are so smart. I snapped both my ankles and had 3 surgeries. I had to learn to walk 3 times. No matter what happens in life never give up.

I've had one for 4 years. It quit being effective after 6 months. When in use, it would randomly give me intense shocks. Sometimes, just moving triggered these surges. This interferes with waking, and won't even use it when I drive. Those surges will make you flex. I'm having mine removed. I researched it prior to agreeing, and willing to take the chance to have pain relief. I overlooked the warnings. I'm not saying it's not helpful- FOR SOME. For others... not so much. Just research, and then research some more

I had Rod's n screws put in lower back and 2 fusions in 1993. I at the point now where if it rains I feel I've been beaten up. Arthritis over 80% of my body, both knees replaced and I'm only 65. I'm scared but medicine is definitely not working most of the time. I'm very cautious about meds. After 2 doses and no relief I will not take more because it just piles on problems. I'm Praying 🙏
If anyone has a success please tell me❤

I had a spinal fusion then got a spinal cord stimulator. The SCS did not help. The only thing that helped was Tramadol or Oxycodone, but doctors will not prescribe them where I live. So, I must live the rest of my life in terrible chronic pain.

My doctor recommended this for me but every time a real patient tells of their experience, it was nightmarish and didn't get much relief that lasted an amount of time that would justify me putting myself through this procedure.

@@bhrismaw-q My doctor told me if I got relief from it, it would eventually stop working within probably 2 years. Honestly I don't understand why he is offering this to patients with such a low time and percentage of relief, if any, and 3 surgeries! One for the trial; one for the implant and one to remove the thing once it stops working. I can only speak for myself but I have to think when we are in excruciating pain and looking for relief, we aren't thinking clearly. We just try anything available. Fortunately I slowed myself down enough to research this enough to know it's not for me.

Honestly, if anyone is in severe pain like this. Go see a gonstead chiropractor, they are the best. They will correct the problem areas of your spine whihc allows your body to heal naturally. This stuff will never address the root cause of anyones pain

    • @ParallaxGaming63
      @ParallaxGaming63 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Chiropractors cannot help an old body that is breaking down, no matter how good they are. They can't "correct the problem" unless they give you a new spine, possibly a new body to go with it.
