Don’t take the pig out! It is an offering from the village to try and keep the monster at bay. (Then remove it like a month before the server shuts down to signify the beginning of the end)
I love this suggestion! Also, at the bottom, there should be a massive ore vein, to show where they abandoned digging when the beast was unleashed. Equipment lost in the panic would also be good.
I love how despite how everyone knows everyone else on the server is extremely talented, everyone is still blown away by everyone else's talentedness. You love to see it.
Born underground, suckled from a teat of stone Raised in the dark, the safety of our mountain home Skin made of iron, steel in our bones To dig and dig makes us free Come on, brothers, sing with me!
Pretty sure Bdubs is a rare case of playing on reasonably dark lighting so that hole probably looks incredibly creepy for him. Plenty of places to hide in the wall and use the "I see you" horn of the month..
Iskall, Stress and a few others play with shaders with HDR support. If they have monitors with that capability, I imagine it'll look incredible for them.
@@benja1378 HDR means you have a larger range of contrast, so instead of seeing: "Bright / less bright / complete black" you can see far deeper into the murky darkness.
Happy Birthday for yesterday!! I love this lore so much, it's so cool that the whole village is centred around this story! And the creepy mine and hole is so good!!! I love the timelapse music too!! And LOL when Grian thought you'd done an explosion without asking him! I'm excited to see more about the monster and story!!
For a creepy effect with the lighting is maybe have a water logged sensor activating out of sight lamps to add flickering lights down some of the tunnels off the big hole. It looks amazing though! :D
When Cub starts selling your rockets, it would be very colorful and magical to have them in dispensers on your amazing new bridge that goes off when you walk past. Whether it's timed to injure the passerby or just be exciting is an exercise left to the reader.
Can't wait to see the details with the mine. Also, you could prompts the Hermits to change their lighting settings before they enter. That way, it's spooky enough!
From the command center, you could add branches that go in one or both of the other directions that were sealed off for any reason like a cave-in or something
That path could make a great horror chase game(one person gets some items like jump potion or even an Elytra but with restrictions like can't overtake the chased, but also one or two debuffs/buffs like slowness and has to chase the others up the path to kill them/turn them or so, possibly with a monster skin and creepy noises, especially with some other hermits doing game stuff and the gaming district existing it might be a good horror themed group game) Also happy birthday fellow may person xD
Assuming you will be having an event of some kind, you could use observers and delayed redstone to timed droppers raining “crumbling walls” blocks onto the path in front of the clients. 😉
I missed your stream yesterday so I didn't get the chance to but happy birthday Cleo! You're videos make me smile whenever I watch them and you always give interesting and insightful commentary Here's to a great life!
that mine entrance is a masterpiece! super reminds me of those old adventure maps people use to make (i remember one in particular that is very reminiscent of the mine, had something to do with dracula's castle or something). awesome work!
I love the way that the big creepy hole looks and feels! Two ideas i had watching your video: For the copper parts maybe make them less and less oxidized the further you go down since there i less and less oxigen left in the air. Maybe test out the ressouce pack that Gem is using to make her place look creepy. Perhaps that will make that big hole even creepier for some cinematic shots.
can you add glass fog effect? it will make the creepy hole a bottomless pit. digging it by hand is a testament on how good Cleo is, the details of the hole is so good.
For some reason the view from the bottom of the hole reminds me of those parkour map levels where the lava is gradually rising (my least favourite things in parkour maps which adds to the uneasy feeling the hole itself gives, so i guess that's a bonus)
You can use a silenced ender man in a boat (using tripwires) to detect when a player looks at it. Hide it in a wall behind a painting or something and you can have some real creepy effects. Wall that has an eye that opens when you look at it at just the right angle, custom jukebox that insults the player looking at the painting
could also add within the hole where the walk way is is like where a monster has broken some of the path to get down to describe a story, and see if anyone can help with redstone where if you walk by that certain area it brings out either like a zomie/skeleton/spider/creeper?
an idea for the creepy tunnel leading to the creepy hole. you could add some like armor stand bones to help with the creepiness of what lies down there
Cleo, Don't build a giant Cthulhu on that hole. And if you do, don't build it out of wool. And if you choose wool, don't ask X to enable doFireTick. And if you do, check the bedrock for lava pockets. If you know, you know.
The pops of green from the weathered copper trapdoors add so much to the unease, I think. With all the darkness I can't help but be on the lookout for creepers, and it leans just a little bit more towards creeper green rather than zombie green.
I *love* the path down into the mines. It's reminding me of dungeons from some of my favorite RPGs, where you descend linearly through a series of platforms (and fight monsters on the way) before getting to the Big Boss at the bottom. You captured that effect perfectly, and I can't wait to see the Eldritch Horror that the greedy humans have awoken. Also: very much love to the memorial for Gluestick and Drumstick. Long may their spirits prance.
Your big creepy hole reminds me strongly of the mine in Gothic. You should look up cave crawlers from Gothic and see if they inspire you for some additional monsters in your big creepy hole.
This episode truly has it all: fun interactions with other hermits, timelapsing with rad music, armour stand magic, lore building, pig in a hole! Perfect
There is a creepy horn at the horn shop that is "i seeeee you" Maybe have a pressure plate about half way down the monster hole that triggers the sound when a hermit steps on it? Or trigger music boxes to make moster sounds.
This is the reason I love Cleo’s builds! I love the ways she tells a story through them! I love a good story and I’m so excited to see what they do with this! Also sidenote, lots of horrors and monsters around the server this season (Cleo, Gem, False mentioned there’s something in the water) and im obsessed!!!!!!
“We gotta get rid of the pig.” And here I was thinking the pig was the sacrifice/meal like the goat in Jurassic Park. Then later on you’re like, “Where’s the pig?”
Happy belated birthday, Cleo❤ The creepy hole ambiance reminds me a bit your season 4 build (that had a big eye in the bottom)... oh I loved that base n also lovin what you're doing now
Specifically for creepy builds like this I kinda wish there was a lantern sized copper bulb where it would still do the "gets darker as more weathered" thingy. I think that would fit in great for this, still provides light but steadily gets dimmer, the lanterns would look all corroded. Also fully agree with adding some soul lanterns as you go down for the color shift. The creepy hole is amazing and I had a similar reaction as Grian when I saw it in his video when you said it wasn't an explosion. The time lapse was immensely satisfying to watch.
I just want to tell everyone that I absolutely, completely LOVE this! We need more creepiness on the Hermitcraft server! I also love it when bases have lore.
Dude, Cleo totally Nailed the Creepy Vibe! Like it's not... well, you can tell where it IS inspired from Existing Fiction, but it's not like a Direct Inspiration from any singular Fiction. Like, it totally looks like an Original Take. And the Creep Factor is off the charts. Like I feel nervous just watching the Descent through and down that Mine. I can only imagine what I would feel like to walk through it! Good Job ZombieCleo!!!!
Every Hermit is different, but you are the MOST different and I love it, Deep dark holes, magic bridges, and recreating memories for Skizz. You are the best.
INB4 the "monstah" is just Stress. whether it's an armorstand Stress or "organic build" Stress or Stress herself locked in a "cage" i cannot yet say. LOL
I just wanna say the ominous action-y string music you put over your building montage for the creepy tunnel and shaft is a really great touch! Really gives a sense of budding mystery and importance on the build. Love the story your creating so far! :D
You know those old rickety elevator things that use like chains and ropes? I think that’d go nicely for creepy hole. Love the story telling that’s always a part of hermitcraft.
As you were describing your mineshaft lore I couldn't help but be remind of a song by Gorillaz called "Fire Coming Out of the Monkey’s Head": In time Strangefolk found their way Into the higher reaches of the mountain And it was there that they found the caves Of unimaginable sincerity and beauty By chance they stumbled upon The place where all good souls come to rest The Strangefolk they coveted The jewels in these caves above all things And soon they began to mine the mountain It's rich seam fueling the chaos of their own world
Cleo i have to say that a hole with a down-going mineshaft like yours has been a long-time dream build of mine, but i never had the energy to mine it out quite as big as you did. It looks amazing and surprisingly is entirely traversable. Good Job! :D
Cleo your imagination is epic, I so enjoy the storylines behind your builds and can't wait to see more progress on this, and the monster it all sounds creepy and weird and I'm here for it! I also just love the clear enjoyment that you get from what you do, your laughter as you go is just everything. Thanks so much for taking all of us along for the ride!
Don’t take the pig out! It is an offering from the village to try and keep the monster at bay. (Then remove it like a month before the server shuts down to signify the beginning of the end)
That pig as already a different destiny. They want to launch it from build height to Bedrock with fishing rods to see how fast it goes.
@@BlueStrategosJ keep it in the boat and you can do both. That does sound like a fun idea tho
I love how they ended S8. I wished they did that for S9. That would be an awesome bit for S10. ❤
Before the monster rises, kill the pig and leave the pork chops in the boat via armor stand.
I can't decide which is better, Grian's reaction to not being invited to blow something up, or to learning that NOTHING was blown up.
Very creepy pit. Suggestion: Use soul lanterns instead of regular lanterns when it gets deeper, give a visual color change as it goes further down.
Regular lanterns up top, middle soul lanterns and glow lichen at the bottom.
I love this suggestion! Also, at the bottom, there should be a massive ore vein, to show where they abandoned digging when the beast was unleashed. Equipment lost in the panic would also be good.
