I’m not gonna lie I prefer Air Canada over WestJet. Partially because Air Canada alone has gone up against multiple Canadian Airlines in the past (CP Air, NordAir, Pacific Western Airlines, Canadian Airlines International) and has managed to overcome them all. Also, their “Frostbite” livery is one of my fav liveries.
Native Calgarian here, I can indeed confirm that Calgary is the most insane major city in Canada where most of the population is seen doing the most wackiest things that end up on America's Funniest Home Videos, and that every Air Canada flight entering Alberta let alone YYC must perform a side slip when approaching the runway. Indeed, the King of Canada is Charles III. help alberta is canadian ohio and its falling apart (also WestJet bias because of experience with Air Canada LMAO)
I don't know what one is better for me because I used to fly WestJet all the time when I was a kid and loved it, but Air Canada is the better airline overall when you take literally everything into account.
the most recent canadian airline is porter. tickets are quite cheap, and ive seen many aviation youtubers talk about it. apparently its like buisness calss for economy price
This French Canadian actually prefers Westjet overall for the cost, comfortable planes and especially, the best crews ever. They will do everything to make you happy, from upgrading your seat just because you asked nicely to giving everyone extra snacks “because there’s so much left over”. Air Canada’s customer service is sadly lacking in comparison if something goes wrong and you try to reach them for resolution. You’re forgetting Air Transat, which I also like much better than Air Canada. If I want to travel on different routes, I’d much prefer Air France or lovely British Airways ❤
On November 5th I flew from Montreal to San Jose, Costa Rica. They lost my checked luggage, Nov.7, Monday they said they told me "We have it" and asked, what is best time to deliver it. Tuesday afternoon I ask where is my suitcase and was told , is still in Montreal. I waited 6 days, until Thursday No. 10. It was delivered to me at 8pm. Suitcase was totally destroyed, it's garbage. When posted my story on Air Transat web, I was told, it cant be published. Not a word from Air Transat rep, no apology, nothing. That's one way how to treat customer I gues.

no WestJet is no longer a low-cost airline since 2015 it became a FSA (full-service airline) and they are doing there best to try and be a good airline. In my opinion WestJet is better
1:42 There’s a 30 year gap WestJet was found in 1994, so it’s an airline that isn’t too old, which means it has 0 fatal accidents. Air Canada was founded in 1964 tho.
