Okay before you ask what happened is that in drama class they decided to turn on the fog machine, the fog machine activated one of the smokes and we had to evacuate. The only problem was that when the fire department came they could not reset the simplex panel because it was showing normal and no fire alarm yet the smoke detector went off. Another issue was that they did not have the keys to the panel room so they could not reset the main fire alarm panel. After a while, they obtained the keys to the panel room and reset the panel. Since the smoke did not get cleared out about 10 mins later the alarms went off and we had to evacuate again. JUST LIKE THE FIRST TIME, they could not reset through the annunciator since it would not show the alarm so instead of resetting the panel they just removed the NAC wires and I could hear it beeping lol But yea fun time! And people wonder why simplex sucks ass, this is an example of why lol
@@Roxxofoxxo WHY NOT? Who doesnt want a USB port on there annunciator Also this is why testing is important, they probably could've found the faults really easily
A USB port is unnecessary for that type of annunciator tbh they could of just added dip switches. If it was a network annunciator then maybe I would understand but nope this is not a network annunciator. Also, testing wouldn't have helped since this was just a rare occurrence with the CPU not talking to the annunciator.
And thats why you always check ur wiring and programming job twice. Although one of Simplex’s major weaknesses has been its programmers. I have a johnson controls programmer for es panels but it somehow wasn’t compatible with my 4007es and now i get a nice “master crash 34 error” on startup. Whats worse is ill have to wait AGES for an employee from Simplex i work with to give me something i can load on the panel through a usb. I guess the one thing simplex actually did right was usb auto loading and programming checklists (partially because i dont know what the hell im doing lol).
@@Roxxofoxxo I don’t understand how the cpu is bad just because of a tamper monitor unless you can give me evidence the tamper was also a false alarm. Besides i also mentioned programming in my comment where i ranted about my inability to get the right programmer for my panel.
Also one more thing to note: I’m VERY knowledgeable on Simplex equipment and how to make it work. I’m also very familiar with the brands quirks. I honestly think the panel just needs to be reprogrammed.
You're saying that thats why you need to check your wiring The annunciator was connected to the panel properly The panel just wasn't communicating to the annunciator probably due to the panel probably acting up because the next day the annunciator was communicating to the panel by the fact there was a trouble showing
@@Roxxofoxxo and also thats why i corrected myself in a reply saying the panel needs reprogramming because the panel seems to not recognize its own hardware. Im trying to look at the big picture

That Simplex annunciator literally has a USB PORT on the back, that shows you how over complicated they made it

@@Roxxofoxxoprobably because the annunciator is computer programmed and they need to plug it in to program it. the panel is the same way.
in that case you pull a simplex TURN IT OFF AND THEN BACK ON AND YOU'LL BE FINE.

It wasn't the wiring it was the CPU
Because the next day there was a trouble coming up for a tamper valve

"simplex sucks ass" - dude simplex is my favorite fire alarm brand :C
Sorry to offend you but it's true simplex isn't that good ngl
Looks like a very Boston / New England type of setup
How come there are so many bells near the entrance?
They are trouble bells
If there is a trouble in the panel the bells ring
Is the reason there is a master box is because it is part of the old system, or is it used as a dialer, because I heard some places still use those.
It's a dialer. This is a new building less then a year old, here in Chicago we still use master boxes.
Fuck Simplex. I'd bet money that if they put in an NFS-320, this wouldn't have happened.
This tbh
Or a nfs2-640
NewAgeServerAlarm had this exact same issue with Simplex except a 4100U panel.
