Tadej was dominant but what a ride by Novak must have led out group up 3-4 climbs before redoute...and great to see bardet back smiling and bernal back racing at this level

Carapaz and Bernal both suprised me specially Bernal he is improving good to see,Pogacar just level above everyone else,shame some other top riders like Evenepoel are injured and did not participate
MVDP was there and was found wanting. Remco wouldn’t have lasted either. Only a good climber and classic rider like Wout could have challenged.

No other riders since Hinault has a record like Pogo's. The races he wins (most of the races he enters) are not really races, they are exhibitions of his dominance.
You'll know Pogi means business when he takes the time to tame his hair before the race begins. He became more aero and effortlessly slicing through the wind during his solo breakaway 🤣🤣

Year of the long solo wins, tons of them so far both on men and women's side.
Bardet second!!!!! Not his best race but definitely one that goes on his wall.
MVDP, with how much talk there was about his stature/weight holding him back I thought it was crazy that the other entertainers of the race weren't able to get a higher position than him even with the heaps of helping he had in the race.
Van Gills fourth! Good result by him following other Top tens this year, definitely a person that people need to keep an eye on. And it is amazing to see the ProTeams show it to the WorldTour teams so far, tons of PT podiums so far in WT races. Can't wait to see who gets relegated and who gets promoted during the next adjustment.

Tadej is like a fine racing engine on motor or cycle: once he gets into that optimal power range he’s gone and able to hold it for many miles…

That was not an attack. It was high tempo plus a few 30-second intervals workout, part of his training block leading up to the Giro.
But the best ride of the day has to go to Bardet, that was an amazing ride by Bardet to keep second place.
Also good to see Bernal back in form. Ineos should send him to the Tour.

Why does pogi play with his hood buttons so much, does he have a motor, or is he playing snake?
the hoods have buttons for shifters on Shimano groups. Is it that?
Anyone understand why the 2nd group didn't push to the last meter? Were they all out of breath simultaneously or what?
that's the beauty of the monument, if you gain 15 seconds you can maintain that difference for 20 kilometers as Bardet managed. Everyone drives at their current optimum, because if you speed up to max towards the end of such a race, you only have energy for a maximum of 2 kilometers on the flat and 200 meters uphill, and then you're done with the race
just sitting perfectly on his bike. 500, 600 or even more watts...?
