      Question about 2016 Civic Ex 2.0 Vtech. All the lights on the dash came on ABS, airbags ect. Battery alternator checked with volt meter come to find out it was a bad abs sensor on passenger side. Secondary issues is harness going to the abs connector on the engine side few inches right by the connector also fried. Checked the sensor by unplug in it and setting my volt meter to ac and spinning the hub nothing at all 0 volts. Honda said sensor 55.00 plus engine harness 490.00. Cut out the few inches and solder new wire to the existing good wire to the connector.? Or will that give me issues with codes.? Still not sure what happened to the wire being fried. Nothing rubbed against it and it was clipped away from touching anything with original push clip. Ground is good. Please help

    It’s got a built in screen!! Exactly!, who wants a screen that looks like an afterthought that was glued onto the dash. So many new cars have the screen added on looking; a dust and crap trap that looks like it’s a design abortion. l PLOP here is your screen dummy, we’ll glue it on here. NO! • @faheemabbas3965
      @faheemabbas3965 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      Honestly, Tesla will never be better than Toyota, but with the planned obsolesence route Toyota has been going down recently with their newer cars involving smaller engines and recalls, Toyota may be no better than Kia and Hyundai as they are now in about 15 years time. EVs do not help either. The future of buying used cars will be buying hybrids with batteries that are almost at the end of their lives and need to be replaced for a lot. Simliar to a EV at that point.
      Yikes.

    Here is a small detail I noticed: the front corner of the door's window goes all the way up to the A pillar (the metal on the sides of the windshield). My beloved 2008 Caddy DTS has a black cover there to hide the mirror mounts. This makes the bottom of the A Pillar really wide; you can easily hide a pedestrian behind it. This means you really have to watch out when you are driving in crowded areas. Nice to see Suburu (and other brands like the Versa) taking care of this problem. --Old Guy

    Hi Scotty. 22 years ago my wife had a Toyota Alltrack AWD and I had a Subaru Legacy station wagon. Both were about the same height off the ground. We live in Longueuil just south of Montreal and apart from modern models having traction control it is basically the same AWD system being used today at Toyota on their RAV4. Now handling of the Subaru was indeed better BUT if you had 8 to 10 inches of wet sloppy snow on the ground the Toyota did better because it had a button for locking the rear differential and she had better winter tires (Pirelli) than me at the time (Nokian). And her car could do circles around the Subaru during these worst of conditions up to 10mph at which point the rear differential would unlock. But just the same I tested this many times and Toyota had the advantage. So I know you said this guy was getting stuck with his RAV4 but quite possibly his tires even though studded might not have been well adapted to the vehicle. Also the Subaru Crosstrek Sport has a good inch of additionnal ground clearance and a 2021 model has X-mode which is fantastic in that it emulates a limited slip rear differential but nothing can beat a locked differential under the worst conditions. As good as the Subaru is and I have a 2019 Outback which I love, I just wonder how it would do against a 2019 RAV4 with the same tires.

    Love my ‘11 wrx. No modifications. Lots of fun. 105,000 miles, no issues. Tires last 50,000 miles. Besides brake pads, rotors, oil, only did the 90,000 recommended service.
    Although the clutch will go at some point and that will be $2,000

    !! Subaru people Love their Subarus, they will tell themselves anything to justify having to replace a blown engine and trans YEARLY! Myself I would never buy a boxer engine Subaru, I don’t care what year it is, but hey I respect it that’s dedication!.. All my friends who’ve had WRXs foresters etc. we’re always on their 2nd-3rd engine/trans minimum🤣 but for some reason that I will never understand, they loved them… My one friend decided to LS swap his WRX after destroying his 4th engine, we all laughed so hard about it being the smartest decision he’s ever made🤣 and it was, he’s put over 80k mi. on that old LS and it’s still going strong.

    The cvt reminds of the transmission on the Suzuki Burgman 650. Being a scooter it, of course, had a cvt but it was a genius gear driven forced compliance system. As far as I know they are reliable. You could put it in standard cvt automatic mode but it also had button shifters and a separate overdrive for highways.

    I just took delivery of my '24 Mazda 3 Sport GT Premium Manual. There isn't a single car currently on the market that I would accept as a trade for it - and I'm talking even supercars. Basically, literally any car at any price that still has a manual transmission. That's how much I'm in love with my car. That most definitely includes anything produced by Subaru.
    Love Japanese cars, but not a fan of Subaru. I don't understand why they make them so ugly! The new WRX is one of the ugliest cars on the road, IMO.

    After 5K I traded my new CX-5 in on a new CX-30. The AWD made the bigger car float around too much, just like the RAV. The increase in control in the CX-30 was amazing and just as good a ride.; same 2.5 engine delivered the same power to the smaller car. I’m a happier camper.

    Subaru's were always good reliable if underwhelming vehicles my mom drove a 1986 XT turbo hatchback until 1993 when the head gasket blew with roughly 115,000 miles on the odometer personally I like Toyotas better my dads 79 Corolla station wagon ran until 1986 with 120,000 miles on the odometer or better yet my moms 05 Hyundai Sonata had roughly 160,000 miles on it when it was totaled in a state mandated inspection drive in Nov 2019 and in replacement of that dad bought a used 2011 Cadillac SRX with 133,000 miles on the Odometer and its now around 170,000

    No thanks....the CVT is a deal breaker for me! Besides the Boxer engine which has a horizontal design and pistons lay flat in the cylinder. When the engine is turned off, the fluids tend to pool next to the head gaskets instead of draining, and over time acids in the fluids eat away at the seals. The gaskets deteriorate and oil and coolant fluids start leaking. Plus the dealer network sucks.
