There are a few good bands around, mostly in Japan, but where Band Maid scores is Kanami's ( song writer, lead guitar ) creativity. Great variety, great hooks, superb riffs and above all melodic. She can and does shred maintaining a melody and the wonderful talent of the band support her delivering perfect songs in perfect performance.

These women are incredible musicians and the lead guitarist Kanami is the writer/composer of their music and Miku the rhythm guitarist and backing vocals/founder of the band writes the lyrics to the songs. I have been following Band-Maid since 2014 and as a musician of 56 some years, I have found Band-Maid to be one of the most progressive and talented women in the world today in my opinion. Love your channel and your reactions. Keep Rocking 🤘🤘

Oh my Maid overlords I can't compare thee. All amazing and beautiful. Songs and women! Almost every song I hear from them is my favorite. Great reaction guys and I hope to see more. You can see them give a crowdless concert here on TH-cam on the 23rd of July. I have been a Beatles fanatic since l watched them on the Sullivan show in February 1964 as a twelve year old. I followed the Grateful Dead since 1966 and attended 36 of their shows. I saw Band-Maid last September in LA and l went to that show as a fan. I left two hours later talking to myself. Anyway, long story short, Band-Maid has become my second favorite band of all time. Even passing the Dead. You currently have about 95 Band-Maid songs to choose from and all recorded in just less than seven years. Who puts out quality music at that rate? You can count them on three fingers. Sacramento loves Band-Maid.

Such a great band! I saw them live in Dallas last year and can confirm: They kill live. Just outstanding musicians. Nice reaction! If you haven't done Domination (live), Choose Me (live), or Freedom (live) They have uploaded all three vids to their official channel. All three are from the February 14, 2020 show in Shibuya/Tokyo, and all are worth a watch!
We will check out and wow we live in Dallas wish we would have known about them back then!
@Reactions To The Classics They played the smallest room at the House of Blues (Cambridge room) so it was only 250 people. It sold out in minutes. I flew from Nashville TN for the show since it was the closest to me of the 5 shows on the US tour. 2 in NYC, 1 in Dallas, and 2 shows in L.A. Hopefully they’ll play more cities next time they come back to the US! I’m flying to Tokyo to see them at Budokan February 11,2021!

BUT if ONE member would leave this band, you can´t replace her, they are all individually SO TALENTED, it´s not possible, that´s how good they are and we can thank MIKU she put them together and they are all like friends to each other, so i guess we don´t have to think about an separation of these ladies. Interesting to hear from some with different reactions to the maids. The first time I saw them, I thought, Japanese women in French maid outfits trying to play hard rock, well they look quite cute so it might be fun... Oh, she's got a good voice, those drums are really good, and she can shred.... In the last 50 years, it is only Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin, that have been been able to get to me in the same way. For me, it is the way they can seamlessly mix catchy pop (I like ABBA) with heavy riffs (I like Motörhead), great drums (like the best of Bonzo) and great melodic guitar solos and performed with an energy that makes me think of the great MC5 before they all got busted (I only know from video clips). The bass is a real stand out. Misa was brought up on rock at home. She plays lead bass. I really can't think of anyone quite like her. Maybe in Rush? The lyrics, for the more thoughtful songs anyway, are poetic and sung with conviction and emotion by Saiki. I like some of Lemmy's lyrics, but Miku gets the poetry award. Some are put off by the look. I was until I realized it is an ironic statement about not judging by appearances (po). Some can't believe that they are actually playing their instruments-too good to be true. When asked about this, Kanami smiled and said, I understand why you might think that by looking at our appearance, but no, no air guitar here. Band Maid, nothing like them.

This is a first time for me listening to this band and watching their live performances. Both the first and second songs were wild rocking songs.. You guys are right about the instrumentation, the lead guitar, the drumming, the bass. They can play their instruments.. The third song is also wild with lots of percussion like you said. I don't know the language so I couldn't understand what they were singing about. Maybe I would go with the first song, but really all three were basically the same. You guys are much netter than me at dissecting and understanding the songs.

Wow, what a great selection. To pick a song from Band Maid is really difficult. 100 fans 100 different lists. Besides that most of their songs (a catalogue of +90) gain a lot with successive listenings. Thank you for help us to spread the word. This band deserves recognition, and I bet you that if you continuous listening to them they will gain a place in your amazing wall.

They are definitely proficient on their respective instruments - absolutely - and the lead singer has a good strong in tune vocal performance with catchy tunes - as to the comparisons to the wall collage of creative, innovative, progressive, pushing the barriers music behind you...well my mother had a saying.....so i'll leave it at that.....but errr, not even close, sorry mum...but they are fun, i'll give them that.

I hope you guys didn't just decide to do the three band-maid songs, and then that's it. I'm sure by the comments you can tell, not only do they have an extremely supportive fan base. But their live performances as well as many of their music videos. Are worth checking out over and over !

It's refreshing to hear a voice like Siaki's coming from a female Japanese singer. It's a mature sounding voice that I could listen to all day. The "Kawaii" squeaky little girl voices that some other lead singers have get old and tiresome to listen to very quickly.

Not for me unfortunately. Obviously highly competent musicians and great fun but the sound wears thin very quickly - just way too polished for my ears and the vocals sound like an American Idol audition (a good one mind you!).

I've been listening to rock since I heard Little Richard sing Good Golly Miss Molly
on the radio in 1957. I've got all the albums for the Stones, Beatles, Led, Deep Purple, MC5, Stooges, Pink Floyd, and many, many more. I would rank Band-Maid up with the best of them. Their song writing is as good as just about any band from that era.
