Petrolicious is truly one of a kind! their videos are allways top notch and refreshingly it's not just about pure horsepower but about the pure enjoyment of these fantastic machines! you don't need 1,000 + bhp to have fun! keep it up guys!
From minute 7:31 you captured the "essence" of driving for me. I really appreciate the sentiment of these videos. Man and machine on the open road = everything is right in the world, ableit only in our minds.
I am absolutely captivated by your work! I can't adequately convey to you how much I love this channel. Your subjects are exquisitely wonderful car people. It is fantastic that these folks lovingly use and care for their amazing pieces of automotive history. Live long and prosper.
This guy seems like one of the most fun guys to just go for a drive with, that Porsche and his love for it would make for a very memorable drive. Spike I'm sure I'm in a very long line, but just tell me when it's my day to go for a ride with you in your 911, because that would be amazing!
I have always said that if you hav'nt spent time on the Autobahn in Germany (especially in the 70s but anytime is acceptable) you do not have any awareness of the real world of Porsche,,,But this 68 911L makes the exception, it screams the Heart of Porsche.
I have subscribed to this channel a long time ago. Now I came back and I'm really surprised that this channel *still* has _only_ 500k subs! I mean the quality of the videos have always been like a 5M sub channel! They really deserve more!
What a beauty! And what an incredible story, You bought a car which you had for ten years on a photo and realized it afterwards...Thank you for sharing!
Only Petrolicious quality could have profiled a guy with the same life, mindset and goals that I’ve been striving for decades to hit. Fantastic, so much more than just about the car!
Wow! Feresten and "Dickie" Smothers just upped their street cred by a couple of notches... You're funny and talented, but you needed this one, Feresten.
Our paths crossed back when I ran CBS Late Night & you were with Dave. Great video homage to a wonderful 911. My 1st Porsche, was a new 69 912 (because I couldn't afford a proper 911). Now I wish I had the 912 back. Congrats!
You know, I'll be honest... I was almost reluctant to click on this video. Not because I doubted the quality, but because I honestly didn't know how else Petrolicious would do a 911 video. I mean, there are quite a few on the channel so I just doubted how.... fresh... It would be. Less than a minute in and I laughed knowing damn well I should never second guess the people at Petrolicious. This is a FANTASTIC video. Well done.
Great car, Great story. Seems like a great guy. All the euros owned the Trans Am racking 2.0 L class then the little old Datusn came along lol. Keep it up Petro!
Maybe some people back then also said "modern cars suck. Long live the classics". And some people will say the same in 30 years time. Many of the "classics" from that era were nothing but very unsafe and almost dangerous to drive. So were most of that times muscle cars. It's only when they get a touch of modern tech (modern suspension, tires, brakes, etc) that they become cool and nice to drive. Or drive very occasionally, like this 911.
Jai my boy, you and I differ on the driving experience of both a 997-991 GTS Cabriolet, 997-991 GT3, Panamera Turbo and Turbo S, Late 80's 911's. if modern, Audi R8, among others. A Honda V6 coupe 6sp is fun too. Jai, you have to get back to your cars now. We won't bother you anymore.
I love these small bumper Porsche's. I remember I could had bought a nice 1970 911s for 12,000 in the 80's and I never did. Big mistake. Now they are untouchable in price. I have a Triumph TR4A but I sure would like a early 70's Porsche. Maybe someday. Great car channel.
I am not a Porsche fan, but that is a great car. Dick Smothers, I had to listen to that a few times. Wow, I remember that show, but did not know he drove. Great show. Great story.
The reasons that were expressed about the early air cooled Porsche is the reason why I opened my Independent Porsche Shop in 1980. Most if not all my customers were like this.
This video feels way better than the last one from last week in video photography, the story of the car, and the character of the person (by character I mean that person has a more richer history with his car).
Truly a fantastic story something is for you it won't go by you that's this porsche with the guy in the video awesome viewing true car custodian and its a life worth living thank you for the video 😁🌍🍀
Spike is fantastic, I love his show because his passion for cars is apparent and because it is truly different AND practical. I am also a card carrying porsche fanatic (finally kicked my BMW gateway drug and went straight to a full blown main line Porsche heroin high) That being said, the 68 911 is truly next level stuff...Fuck that is a nice car, good for Spike.
I can just smell that old NFS Porsche Unleashed in the music that you have put for this video. So apt for a Porsche! And the guy is awesome as well. Should I ever comment on the car or your videography? this time its more than a magnum opus
At about the 5:06 mark on this video Spike rips by a bicyclist and you can clearly see the rider turn his head and twist his body around to see just what went by...and just before that at around the 5 minute mark he (Spike) squiggles the rear end a bit as he tightens up on the outside of a right and slight uphill turn, that's what's great about driving these cars.
I was surprised to see Spike on Petrolicious. Spike is a true car guy with impeccable car taste. Love his show Car Matchmaker Where he tries to match people with cars. If you haven't watched it, check it out. I believe it's on Esquire network and Amazon video.
Excellent video I love it, by chance someone knows the name of the song in the 2:03 minute gives a very special touch that makes you want to see and hear the story several times.
Another awesome video! Call me old school, but I've always liked this generation Porsche 911. I like the sound of the air-cooled boxer 6 engine as it revs. I'd buy one myself if I had someone to enjoy it with me. :)
Do you by any chance have a high resolution picture of the image at 7:39? I've fallen in love with this still, and would love to have it as my pc wallpaper.
This is by far the best car channel on youtube. The production value and content is top notch. Great moves. Keep it up, proud of you.
H3h3
true. great videos editing places and cars
it's SLAAAAAMIN
Petrolicious is truly one of a kind! their videos are allways top notch and refreshingly it's not just about pure horsepower but about the pure enjoyment of these fantastic machines! you don't need 1,000 + bhp to have fun! keep it up guys!
I'm happy this guy has this car.
"I'm not a golfer..." I like this guy! Gearhead!
just discovered this channel recently, arguably the best one I've come across...
The stories they put together are beautiful.
From minute 7:31 you captured the "essence" of driving for me. I really appreciate the sentiment of these videos. Man and machine on the open road = everything is right in the world, ableit only in our minds.
Petrolicious and a classic aircooled 911 ! What more can we ask for ? 😊👍👌
Oh, IDK.........a better car, for a change?????
I am absolutely captivated by your work! I can't adequately convey to you how much I love this channel. Your subjects are exquisitely wonderful car people. It is fantastic that these folks lovingly use and care for their amazing pieces of automotive history. Live long and prosper.

Lucky man he has one of the best and it seems he really appreciates owning it. Another superb short film.
The super high production value of these videos is amazing! Thank you so much for making these videos. I enjoy every car and story.
“I’m not a golfer, I can’t stand it”
I thought I liked Spike from his Hodinkee video, now I absolutely adore him
Each your video is masterpeace.
I have always said that if you hav'nt spent time on the Autobahn in Germany (especially in the 70s but anytime is acceptable) you do not have any awareness of the real world of Porsche,,,But this 68 911L makes the exception, it screams the Heart of Porsche.
That's my Porsche; No Soup For You!!! Come back, One Year!!
I literally just finished watching that Seinfeld episode lol.
Beautiful car and wonderful video. Thanks to Spike for restoring this car and to Petrolicious for this superb video.
You guys are killing it with the soundtrack. Please, I beg you to share song titles in future videos!
I have subscribed to this channel a long time ago. Now I came back and I'm really surprised that this channel *still* has _only_ 500k subs! I mean the quality of the videos have always been like a 5M sub channel! They really deserve more!
or does this "petrolicious" stuff appear somewhere else? How do they make money?
This is the TH-cam channel for a great website. Lots of great stuff there, you won't be disappointed.
petrolicious.com/
Great upload.
Porsches from this era are pure and so much fun to drive. I have a 1968 Targa which I've owned since 1996 and will never sell.
This is the charm that keeps me returning to this channel over, and over again.
Fantastic car. The sound is intoxicating and the Minilites actually look really nice on a vintage Porsche.
This is one of the best car stories that I've ever heard!
Excellent production by Petrolicious - as always.
Wow! Feresten and "Dickie" Smothers just upped their street cred by a couple of notches... You're funny and talented, but you needed this one, Feresten.
The wonderful decision is living in that sunshine state with glorious driving roads! ❤
FTW... #rare & collectible whilst being that old school raw car. Porsche fever!!!
Our paths crossed back when I ran CBS Late Night & you were with Dave. Great video homage to a wonderful 911. My 1st Porsche, was a new 69 912 (because I couldn't afford a proper 911). Now I wish I had the 912 back. Congrats!
@Spike I have watching this video many-a-time. Still love it and your authenticity. It's why I am a SCR fan.
Whatever is similar to poetry, but not an actual poem, was the natural authentic script, that flowed in this video, thank you for your fine content.
You know, I'll be honest... I was almost reluctant to click on this video. Not because I doubted the quality, but because I honestly didn't know how else Petrolicious would do a 911 video. What a great car and what a great story. This is what I love about Petrolicious.
Congrats! Besides of my Porsche passion, every video are even getting better!

One of your best yet. Love it. Keep up the great work! Cheers
Cinemaphotography was ...."RIPE"
Classic Cars find new owners... New owners dont find classic cars
Im happy for this guy.
Great car, Great story. Seems like a great guy. All the euros owned the Trans Am racking 2.0 L class then the little old Datusn came along lol. Keep it up Petro!

What a sublime car! That's simply wonderful!
Modern cars suck. Long live the classics.
all classics were modern cars once
+Hold Fast Films Sliced bread was "modern" once. Your point?

Yep, you need a new car for the daily but for the weekend....? what new car would you buy? Old car option always better!
I love the old 911's.
One of the best Petrolious videos, Spikes a very likeable car guy and clearly "gets it". Porsche is always good too 👌🏼
I was just watching Spike last night on his show on Esquire, when I saw the red Porsche with number 8 and rollbar,,,hey I've seen that car!
truly an irresistible car. Nice video
Just beautiful.
Best Car Chanel for historic automobile Ledgends
perfect film......there is no better channel for petrolheads
Sir you are one of the lucky few to drive such a brilliant machine ... one day i will own a classic Porsche 🇩🇪
Great story Spike! Petrolicious is the best way to tell it. Keep it up!
I like how celebrities and regular folks are treated the same on this channel.
Soooo coool!!! I Love the edit, colour and quality of yours videos
I am not a Porsche fan, but that is a great car. Dick Smothers, I had to listen to that a few times. Wow, I remember that show, but did not know he drove. Great show. Great story.
Don't ever sell it, Great story, thanks for sharing it,
The reasons that were expressed about the early air cooled Porsche is the reason why I opened my Independent Porsche Shop in 1980. Most if not all my customers were like this.
Fantastic work! One of the best
Great story and thank you for not saying it was a visceral experience.
Thanks again Petrolicious !! GREAT !!!
Good man, keep revving that baby as long as you can!
Beautiful car and great story.
Petrolious vids never disappoints me. Great one again !!.
2:08 dude, have no words for this
A replica antique Porsche 911 or an equivalent or a real rear engine Porsche from the 60s or 70s is on my bucket list to own build or drive.
"Petrolicious" sorely missed. Thanks for memories.
Completely awesome channel.
Great quality channel and very informative and interesting to watch
You guys nailed it! Thanks for that!
I can just smell that old NFS Porsche Unleashed in the music that you have put for this video. So apt for a Porsche! And the guy is awesome as well.
Should I ever comment on the car or your videography? this time its more than a magnum opus
Lol he's not smiling when he's driving in the beginning
Excellent car sir! Love it. I'd love an old 911 but they are so expensive (in the UK at least).
Everywhere
Les images sont absolument sublimes ! J’adore votre chaine ❤
This one is particularly good.
4k makes me so happy. Thank you Petrolicious. 👍🏽
Petrolicious has the best video ever, hope to appear on one of the episodes once i get my 78 Buick opel. Fingers crossed
Reminds us- atleast the post 80/90s generation- what 'Motoring' actually means. Long live the Classics.
never get tired of watching the one :)
From one writer to another - you Sir, have good taste.
looks pristine
Probably the best Petro vid I have seen. Spike I will have my Cayman S in S. Cali if you want to swap keys for a canyon run...
Wow! That car is my dream car. One day - one day !! :)
watching this in 4k on my new retina-screen is better then anything. b-e-a-utiful
Thank you for a great story!
Excellent review and owner!
I was surprised to see Spike on Petrolicious. Spike is a true car guy with impeccable car taste. Love his show Car Matchmaker Where he tries to match people with cars. If you haven't watched it, check it out. I believe it's on Esquire network and Amazon video.

Unless you're in Oregon. 😁
So they loaded up the truck and they moved to Beverly
Hills that is.
until you realize theyre socialist and hate everything to do with cars and want us all to ride buses.
That car looks way to pristine, must have had quite some work on it. Loving the engine Sound.
Great video again Petrolicious!
Excellent video I love it, by chance someone knows the name of the song in the 2:03 minute gives a very special touch that makes you want to see and hear the story several times.
thanks for this, and for all the videos
Beautiful videos as always
This channel got really great really quick. Wish the vids were longer though - yes id pay for it.
another great video✌✌🖒🖒🚗🚗
Great story and awesome car!
Another awesome video! Call me old school, but I've always liked this generation Porsche 911. I like the sound of the air-cooled boxer 6 engine as it revs. I'd buy one myself if I had someone to enjoy it with me. :)
so good to finally see a posche in petrolicious!
Do you by any chance have a high resolution picture of the image at 7:39? I've fallen in love with this still, and would love to have it as my pc wallpaper.
