In addition to that, more and more schools encourage instructors to use Respondus Lockdown Browser and Monitor which is almost impossible for the students to cheat. The program is very sensitive and tends to tag any movement or behavior as cheating. If you sneeze while taking test, it would be tagged as a cheating.

preventing backtracking is the worst possible option as students won't be able to manage their time when solving the test, as they won't be able to skip a question and go back to solve it to save time. When backtracking is turned off, students are forced to solve a question which would affect the their time. So if backtracking is turned off then additional time should be added,

Can you know if student switched tabs in the browser while taking a test? Or is it completely invisible for the teacher and Blackbord?
When you use lockdown browser and monitor, the students are not allowed to open another window.
