Today I am going to show you how to download and use Retroarch MAME core. I am then going to show you how to import MAME/Arcade games and the MAME Retroarch core inside of Launchbox Frontend as well as show you controller mapping and video settings.

I play only 1 game which sunset riders for now. Can you do a separate guide where you can install a specific mame for it for example? and not downloading the whole set with whole games in it?

By doing this Launchbox just skips some games like Ninja Emaki. If you don´t skip importing "unplayable games in MAME" then all sorts of nonsense is imported, like keyboards and printers. Weird.

I have a launch box set up, but a lot of the games are running at hyper speed and I also don’t have audio on the games either. Can anyone assist?

Every tutorial I find only shows "mame sets" Do I have to use a set? I only want get snag a few games. And for whatever reason I can run them standalone with MAME but it wont load via Launchbox.
Reason being. If you download individual games. You wouldn't know which set/version of mame they belonged to.

Also, I hooked my laptop via HDMI to my TV and the games run slower that way.. Why is this?.
@TheSideways2k hey. Its likely a refresh rate issue. Your TV might ve set to a higher resolution also.

Yeah. Change your resolution in retrobat. Vsync is sometimes an issue too.
If i have emulation station can i just use the games i already have in those folders for launch box? Or do i have to duplicate all my roms again for LB?
You can just direct launchbox to find your mame games which are in your LB folder when setting up mame in LB.

Will you do videos showing the best places to find complete lists of games released on each system for building 1g1r sets. For example best place to find a complete list of ps1 games released in the US with console exclusives from other regions.
You could also do top 100 games list for each region. Then play through each of them.
Wikipedia is not that good anymore. They are removing games from their lists that have been rereleased.
I will not encourage where to find games. I have said in previous videos about owning games etc. It is also against TH-cam policies to encourage piracy by offering links etc. In terms of general full lists. Just Google full system lists for each system. For example you can find complete listings for each commerical game availble on Snes.
@@JustJamie1983 I didn’t mean where to find roms. Just lists of games, like when you google snes games released in the us, Wikipedia comes up and has just a list of every game released in the US. No links to games just lists of games released. The region exclusive lists are hard to figure out though. Wikipedia has removed a lot of the console region exclusives from there lists.

What if you have different mame roms that work on different versions of mame?? I’m new to this.
You need to know which rom set it is and then look up which mame version is supporting the Romset.

How do i know what version of mame games do i have?
I have no idea. Are they in a folder?
Do you have a video of how to add more mame games at once, or say games 1 at a time, if i have a zip of a load of mame games... Im new and trying to learn how to do this stuff as i am a old school arcade player--- way to many quarters in my youth lol

@@timbergreywolf2 hey there, just put them into the same folder, so that they are all toegther, just remember, some MAME games will require CHD files too.

Yes that's fine.
do you know if you can use Mame 0.99 with launchbox
You can yes. Launchbox has all of the Mame cores to support it. You will need to find which core supports it. As you know. MAME has endless sets which has been updated for years now and so the cores/emulators change with them to support all the new updates.

Quick question, do you know how to alter controls in Mame for launch box? I want to play some shooter games but I don't know how to make my mouse the gun. Only keys on my keyboard.
Hmm. Which version of mame are you using? You could try using the mame menu button which is TAB I believe?
