Without a doubt, this video is definitely THE BEST and easily understood tutorial I’ve seen. I will follow your tutorials , that’s not to say that other tutorials are worse or better as individuals. Thank you for your knowledge, time, & easy manner. Thank you, I will focus onto your tutorials channel.
Fantastic crash tutorial. I came here from a 30 mins. video that didn't even bother to explain the main dial. After watching this I was already getting comfortable with manual controls straight away, despite being someone who's never handled a serious photography camera before. Well done!
This is really great! I am glad I stumbled upon your channel. As I purchased one of these cameras last year, and coming from a Fuji to such a complex camera, it's taking me a while to gel with it. Although there is a plethora of info out there, a lot of it is too much. This is very concise yet clear and easy to understand and you also have the right Goldilocks amount of energy. Not too much that you're annoying, or not to little that you put people to sleep. It's just right and you get to the point. Your Autofocus guide was also excellent. If you are looking for ideas for future episodes, a guide to the various types of subject tracking this camera is capable of would also be very welcomed.
I just watched this video whilst I had 10 minutes and had my camera with me and I learned what I forgot in my 3 years of college doing photography 😅 Thank you!
Thank you!! SOOOO helpful! I no longer feel too overwhelmed to even pick up my Sony A7iii and keep reaching for my phone cam or GoPro instead. I'm about to go take some photos with it now!😻
Help! In manual mode I can change the shutter speed using the rear control Dial but using the front control Dial the aperture will not change. I reset to factory settings 2x. Hints would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
@@bringard16290 mine was doing the same so I just went in aperture mode switch my aperture where I need it to be than go back to manual mode and it stayed
Thanks very much for this. My previous cameras were Nikon F2SB and Nikkormat FT2... which I LOOOOVED ... but ran them to pieces. Not of big fan of a lot of auto functions as a result .. so this tutorial got me going very quickly. Thanks for your prep and presentation and efforts.
You are a great tutor to me. Now I need to set my camera where the display automatically shows up on the large rear screen when I remove my eye from the viewfinder. As for now, if I want to view the image to be photographed, I need to tilt the rear screen a bit to turn it on.
Thanks, I was having some problems learning how to manual focus and some tutorials told me to use Peak setting which sounded way too complicated for such a simple function, but you showed me the easy way.
Great video! Easy step by step, thank you. For the exposure compensator, I put my ISO to Auto however I wasn’t able to access the exposure to change it. Any suggestions why?
It’s actually WAY better than it used to be. I hated the ergs on the original A7. Hated the menus, the layouts, everything. This is a huge improvement across the board.
i have a challenge, Exactly where the letter "M" appears, meaning manual mode That keeps changing from "M" to "S" and "P". How can i change this to remain in "M" Manual mode?
heh. I haven’t. I had the A7III on loan to make this video. I’m still shooting my Olympus EM5II. However, after handling the A7III, I’ll absolutely consider it when I’m looking to upgrade (that or whatever version of the A7 is out there)

Underrated and under appreciated. I just switched from Fuji and this has been incredibly helpful
Greatest tutorial on the Sony a7iii. Thank you.

No live view based on Joeg - Raw has much more headroom
RAW definitely has more headroom.
