    I liked the part when they said 'Infinite Content'

      I especially love how they wrote a stripped back version to repeat the exact same lyrics while adding nothing to what little meaning the songs have

    When this album first dropped I only liked three songs, but now the whole thing just listens so savory to me.
    I know some people don't like it, but I like that some of the songs are more simple. Not everything has to be a big ordeal to be comforting and enjoyable. It's stripped back but still lively

    I appreciate that AF doesn't recycle its own sound. This album is certainly a departure. It's a challenge for me so far. I need to give it a few more listens.

    Initially, I did not "enjoy" the EN album but now I do. Songs like IC and EB helped persuade me to make multiple replays.
    Great are the albums that mature at each play like this one.
    That's why AF's work is so damn positively rewarding to me.

    Idk what their thoughts were when they wrote this song. But damn, this song hits me in the feels as a creative who is expected to just always be creative all the time. And since it’s my career of choice my money is already spent on it.

    It's weird, usually I love Arcade Fire's longer songs like Reflektor, but this is under two minutes and one of my favourite songs on the album! And it's hard to decide a favourite, it is a really good album. Everyone has different tastes in music but I really do like how Arcade Fire can change their style of music on each album, or even between songs, and are consistent with knocking it out the park. Nice one guys :)

    I read a review which referred to "Infinite Content" as "filler", a song played in two different styles, presumably to fill-out the album. Could you be more oblivious? On the contrary, how about "infinite content" as a statement about the fickle nature of consumerism, available in whichever flavour you prefer this week. Brilliant.

    • @anateresapereira7384
      @anateresapereira7384 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes!! Finally someone who gets it. I can't believe how much negative feedback the whole album, and this song in particular, is getting. It's so good. I guess people don't like being called out on things, and the whole album is such a massive critique of our society.

    Alright this song is getting a lot of flak so lemme get a couple words in here.
    1.) As a standalone song it's not great. It's not supposed to be (stay with me). It's part of a pair with Infinite_Content which follows right after it.
    2.) It's also an important part of the album, which is trying to communicate a point.
    This is a punkish, aggressive song and they just keep blasting you with "INFINITE CONTENT" over and over and over. It's abrasive. It's supposed to be. Whether you like that sort of sound or not it's supposed to abrasive. And in an album all about consumerism getting rammed down our throats, this is maybe the one making the clearest point. For example: Once there was Netflix. It had a good thing. So we got a couple more: Crave and Hulu show up (I'm sure some others actually came first, it doesn't matter for the point I'm making). And then a couple more show up. Yahoo's streaming thing and ABC All Access and Disney+ and Amazon and this and that and this and that and they all just keep adding more shows and holy shit it's a remake of a show that was popular in the 80s and oh man the Lord of the Rings movies were good let's take the Hobbit and make a trilogy out of it and then let's take the Harry Potter prequel and make a seven part series out of that and let's reboot some more shows and let's greenlight this and let's dump all of our back catalog onto our streaming service and let's get some Game of Thrones spin offs and INFINITE CONTENT.
    And that brings us to the point the song is making on the album: As soon as it is over you get the same damn song again, except this time it has an underscore in the title and it's the country remix of the song you just heard. Because of course it is. That's the most Infinite Content thing you could possibly do.

    The idea behind the album is very relevant but they did it too literal. The media is oversaturated. The apathy, irony, post-modernness that comes with it is overdone. The band is obviously self-aware, but the album, this song, makes it seem like they're fighting for relevancy. Irony is not a good color on them :P...

    this album is all over the place. if you're gonna do a disco album then just go all out, don't shove this random rock song in to it. and then a random acoustic song after it.
    after The Suburbs got some mainstream attention you've become full of yourselves. Reflektor was pretty good, but this album is awful.

    • @LXWLESS
      @LXWLESS 7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Alex Martin I Disagree completely!!! I think it's variety that makes an album, one genre shows nothing in creativity! Arcade fire are one of the best bands of our time! they certainly are not "full of themselves" The songs on this album are pure genius and interesting and incredibly well written, with emotional and meaningful lyrics! sure you might of liked their older stuff better, but it still doesn't give you the right to say this album is "awful" id like to see you make a better album! as a songwriter myself I think this band are amazing! And this album is amazing!

      All this is part of the album concept. even his comment. we have "infinite content", infinite comments about how this album was from every perspective possible. we got "everything now" it's all about how this media is eating ourselves. attacking each other, filling the bathtub and putting their first record.
      Yes, there is indeed a little bit of everything in the album, and it does enter in the big meaning of "everything now".
      Well this is all my opinion, you can ignore it if you want but thats how I like to understand the album.
      I mean... art is subjective, right?
