As an electronic technician, and recent studier of the USA ABYC electrical standards, that wiring job almost brought tears to my eyes. Someone cares and that is VERY rare on a boat.
I’ve been watching your videos since the start of G.I.S. Build, Best thing about you is your authenticity and honesty in your vids. Keep up the good work
Hi Lou! We can't have any boats with full or long keels here since at low tide there's no water left!! I had never been to that area in Spain but it really is beautiful. And that is only on the river side! you can get a ferry and be on the Ocean in just a few minutes too!
Hi Ben! Yes it's a really nice cruiser, perfect for our sailing grounds and some coastal cruising too! Edgar's Kayak looks awesome just like his catamaran!
You guys are on it!!! Looks like fun. I know how much work too. Glad to see u trying new ideas and always the great scenery. I just bought an 18 foot day sailor that im converting to a live aboard for summer. My first live aboard, cant wait. Always look forward to your videos. ZPLAA
Hi Zacharias! All the work done just makes it more special when the day comes to sail it! And regardless of the size, every boat is a fun boat for someone! Have fun! 😉
That's a lot of boat for 25 feet of length. Nice interior space usage. And i see you had the scariest moment there as well. Seeing your boat hanging by a crane is always a "uh-oh"...
would you tell us why you want you are upgrading? Are you planning long voyages? By the way, this boat looks tremendous...I found your previous videos thrilling so carry on. All the best.
Hi Trevor! this boat as been extensively refitted over 2 years. Pedro will be very happy sailing her! *Spoiler* I bought a Kingfisher 30 and yes, I do plan on longer trips! 😉
Perfect little cruiser, just the type of boat I'd like to own. She's in very good condition for a boat over 40 years old. The wiring was perfect, for me that's a big part of buying a boat, when I see the wiring is good it shows that the owner has cared for the boat in my mind. What would a boat like her cost roughly over there?
The owner had finished a refit not even 2 years ago but unfortunately couldn't keep up with all the expenses like marina's and maintenance for his 3 boats!! So he had to sell... Boat prices in Portugal are awful because we have a very small market, in Spain they are a bit cheaper but Pedro got a very good deal! Over here a boat like this would set you back around 13K-15k. Crazy right?
Nice boat he got. Here in the USA we do not have to many bilge keel boats and that is a shame as the benefits are good. Just look how easy to transport.
We live in the estuary area so we can only get bilge keels or swing/lift keels so the boats have to take to ground twice a day! But they also have other advantages ofc. Unfortunately in a world of light and fast charter cruisers/racers ppl look down on bilge keels. Me on the other hand spent well over a year looking for my bilge keeler! 😁
Thats a attractive little boat inside... And out.. great that it has bilge keels...saves a lot of stress in shallow water and if you have to dry out to do maintainance. 😎🇬🇧 Theres a Dutch guy who has two trimerans Dawn and Twilight in the Algarve Check Living on Oceans channel. 😎 Hes modifying an ex racing trimeran into a live aboard.
@@TheBoatRambler I thought you might want to make contact as hes lived in the Algarve for so long and its his adoptive home...as well as being a experienced sailor..

Tanx Max,I appreciate that!
Love that both boats are twin keels, yours and your friends. And I didnt know southern Spain looked like a tropical paradise, wow!!

Nice choice, just what you wanted!
What's the design on the little kayak at the end? Is it homebuilt from plans?
Hi Neil, yes Edgard built it from plans bought online. I'll ask him about the design...
