The song is a classic Philippine song entitled "Anak." Or, "Child," in English. It has been translated to many Asian languages - here, to Chinese - and, English.
Lyrics in English Verse I When u were born into this world, your parents are so happy and proud of you, and their hands are your guiding light, your father and monther dnt know what to do, they keep on eye on you, while you are at sleep, at the night she's not able to sleep, just to make your milk That's the meaning of that song..
This song Anak (the Children) tells the story of a son or daughter who became a prodigal son/daughter and then realized his or her mistakes in life. This song was composed by a Filipino composer or song writer and singer, Mr. Freddie Aguilar. This song was translated into many different languages.
KZ chose to be patriotic on this one by singing "Anak" (Child). This is an "Original Pilipino Music" which has been translated into 27 languages of the world because of its endearing message!💞
Anak- by Freddie A.- one of greatest Original Pilipino Music (OPM) of all time- 1970's the golden era of Philippines Music when when Freddie A, Asin, Sampaguita, Coritha, Hagibis, Florante, VST & Co, Boyfriends, Rico J Puno and many others "Manila Sound" are popular
The song "ANAK" was originally a story like that of Freddie Aguilar's own story as the prodigal son who went astray as he was growing up and ended up involved with many vices gambling, women, crimes, alcohol and drugs. As time goes by he realized his many mistakes and was very remorseful and tried very much to be reconciled with his father and mother. In KZ's rendition she pointed out the remorseful side of the prodigal son and to remember love of her parents/God as our Father but removed the main story line and added some Mandarin lyrics that pointed out more of the love side of the story. You can sense that the words used were taken or inspired from many Bible passages example remember me in your days of old when you are cold hold on to me dearly, when tired and very weary let me wipe your tears or pain away, just hold on to me dearly and call upon and remember my love that never fades away.
Kz sang this song in both Tagalog ( subtitled ) and Mandarin on every chorus. This song ANAK ( To Children ) is the most successful Original Pilipino Music ( folksong )in the PH, written and performed by Freddie Aguilar back in 1978.Here is a link to the original with English subtitles. th-cam.com/video/tQ3Ta6jYkG4/w-d-xo.html It is so successful that it is interpreted in 27 plus languages in the world, including Mandarin. That is probably why she chose to sing it.BTW, the elderly gentleman with the light green tie is the Ambassador of the PH to China, he was there on behalf of the PH for moral support. Basically, the song is about the love of parents to their child from the day he/she is born, and throughout the stages of the child's life. Even though the darkest periods, that the child can't take the parents for granted. Very touching, and worth listening to. Enjoy.

Below is the English translation of the song Anak meaning Child: When you were born in this world Your parents were very happy And their hands were your light And your mom and dad were beside themselves Watching even when you were asleep Your mom stayed up nights preparing your milk And in the morning you were cradled by your dad who was so fond of you Now that you’ve grown You want to be free Though they don’t agree They can’t do anything You suddenly changed You became stubborn And you went against their advice You didn’t even take into account what they did for you. ‘Cause what you wanted was to follow your whim. ok, for the translation: Remember the tagalog part is the child, the mandarin part is the parents. Child: when you were into this world your parents saw a dream fulfilled and their arms were your light your mom and dad were so worried did not know what to do and watched over you even in your sleep you did not even care about what they were doing is for you for you only wanted to chase your dreams so you ignored your parents Parent: everybody has a dream of going far away and everbody makes mistakes that you have to walk this long path but if you are cold, you can hold me tight and if you are tired, just lean on me if you are in pain, let me wipe your eyes and take it away Child: and your eyes just burst to tears falling down without you even noticing and you are filled with regret when you realize you have made a mistake you are filled with regret when you realize you have made a mistake Parent: my hair is turning grey as time went pass my youth has passed and voice becomes hoarse but please don't be worried or be scared when you were flying high I will be leaving this world I hope you remember my love which will never fade away Child: you are filled with regret when you realize you have made a mistake and your eyes just burst to tears falling down without you even noticing and you are filled with regret when you realize you are so wrong wrong wrong wrong you are filled with regret when you realize you have made a mistake you are filled with regret when you realize you are wrong
I got goosebumps once again from KZ's rendition. *WATCH* another iconic version 🇵🇭👪 that will take you to another level of of emotion: th-cam.com/video/bun5n-N37XY/w-d-xo.html
*Unfortunately final count she didn't make it to the finals. I feel she was under pressure to do the "political" thing since China & Philippines have had issues over the years but eased ever since both Presidents met last year...and now with her popularity (if you had seen the longer version where the ambassador of Philippines talks about her being a ambassador by her being in the show) she helps boost ties.*
Unfortunately she didn't make it to the final..with this phenomenal performance she was ranked 7th out of 10..only the first 4 singers made it to the final..don't forget she was sick during the episode..though she sang in Tagalog and mandarin
the Land of Dez she was sick (got flu) during this episode which was crucial for her..another thing didn't play in her favour..that her order of singing was second among 10 singers..order matters a lot as most singers prefer to sing last so the 500 audiences who are the judges don't forget their performance..to know how much its important..in this episode the last 4 singers who performed were the ones who qualified to the finale..
Sami sam. agreed but not (all) girls wear contacts JUST to change their eye colour. alas, i need it too on occasions when wearing glasses would be awkward :/
Gracious Love I have sight problems my self and I wear them most of the time..btw I think Friday episode of the singer which is the last one will have a surprise for us..I think KZ is back..as a guest singer with Jessie J..
Anak mean Child. . . . .not to the children. I am a Filipino giving proper information. She has a New song in wish Buss " You!ll see Miracle ". They had also collaborated song with Regine Velasquez " Rolling in the deep " and " Adele Medley ".
Hey you two, are you a couple. The song is about a child or children who are more ungrateful of parents who raised them up. The song was originally by Freddie Aguilar, also a Filipino and popularized Internationally. It had been translated into different languages. Do you have kids? Beware as most likely to get this when kids have grown..

I like that very much Kz! No one can do what u did .?
KZ wants to spread love... Family is love...and family represents Philippines...
Kz took my attention. Its like we are long time friends
it feels like her singing style is an art in itself. The feels on each of her performance is beyond my imagination. Her passion is oozing that audience can feel, it's so amazing even just wathing it on a vid. what more if it's live!

ANAK LYRICS
Nang isilang ka sa mundong ito
(when you were born into this world)
Laking tuwa ng magulang mo
(your parents felt a surge of pure happiness)
At ang kamay nila ang iyong ilaw
(and their guiding hands are your beacon of light. )
At ang nanay at tatay mo'y
(and your mom and dad)
Di malaman ang gagawin
(are fretful and afraid)
Minamasdan pati pagtulog mo
(that they keep watch over you even in your sleep)
At sa gabi'y napupuyat ang iyong nanay
(and with sleepless nighttime , your mom )
Sa pagtimpla ng gatas mo
(feed you your milk) > NOTE this shows the sacrifices of the mom preferring to the milk as a symbol
At sa umaga nama'y kalong ka
(and at daytime you are cuddled )
Ng iyong amang tuwang-tuwa sa iyo
(by your dad who is overly blissful with you)
Ngayon nga ay malaki ka na
(and now that you are an adolescent )
Nais mo'y maging malaya
(you wish to be free and independent)
Di man sila payag
(though they have hesitations)
Walang magagawa
(they allowed you)
Ikaw nga ay biglang nagbago
(Suddenly, you begin to change)
Naging matigas ang iyong ulo
(became stubborn and indignant)
At ang payo nila'y sinuway mo
(you defied their guidance)
Di mo man lang inisip na
(why havent it crossed your mind)
Ang kanilang ginagawa'y para sa iyo
(that what they are doing are for your own good)
Pagkat ang nais mo'y
(should it be because you wanted)
Masunod ang layaw mo
(to follow your own capricho/whims)
Di mo sila pinapansin
(that you completely shut your door behind them)
Nagdaan pa ang mga araw
(As time passed by)
At ang landas mo'y naligaw
(your life just went downhill, you went astray and lost)
Ikaw ay nalulong sa masamang bisyo#
(you succumbed to vices and wrongdoings. )
At ang una mong nilapitan
(the first person you asked for help)
Ang iyong inang lumuluha
(is your mom who is in grief)
At ang tanong, "anak, ba't ka nagkaganyan?"
(and she asked, "my child, why are you like that?"
At ang iyong mata'y biglang lumuha ng di mo napapansin
(and your eyes begin to tear up unknowlingly)
Nagsisisi at sa isip mo'y
(you're full of remorse and in your contemplation)
Nalaman mong ika'y nagkamali
(you seek forgiveness for all the grievous mistakes you have committed against your parents. )
On the last part when KZ repeated the word MALI (meaning wrongdoing or error), she emphasized the gravity of realizing ones mistakes thus the repition. This can be interpreted as someone saying IM SORRY over and over again just to ask for forgiveness. This is very dramatic in that sense that the singer sang it this way.
I hope I was able to help!
Classic song about the unconditional love of parents for their children. KZ was still sick when she performed this but she still gave it her all. She is just fantastic.

KZ's Anak(Child)
Song by Freddie Aguilar (1978)
(Filipino)
When you were born into this world
Your parents were full of joy
And their hands were your light
And your mother and father
Didn't know what to do
They watched over you even in your sleep
But you didn't even think about what they were doing for you
Because you want to follow your pleasures
You do not notice them (you just ignore them)
(Chinese)
Everybody has a dream of going far away
Everybody makes mistakes
You have to walk through this long path
If you are cold, hold me tightly
If you are tired, lean on me
Let me wipe your eyes and take your pain away
(Filipino)
And your eyes suddenly tears up as
You didn't even notice
Your mind is regretting when you learn you were wrong
Your mind is regretting when you learn you were wrong
(Chinese)
My hair turned grey as time went fast
My youth has passed and voice hoarse
Please don't be worried or scared
When you are flying high
I'll be leaving this world
Hope you remember my love which will never fade away
(Filipino)
Your mind is regretting when you learn you were wrong
OH!
And your eyes suddenly tears up as
You didn't even notice
Your mind is regretting when you learn
You're wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong!
Your mind is regretting when you learn you were wrong
Oh oooo
Your mind is regretting when you learn you're wrong

Below is the English translation of the song Anak meaning Child:
When you were born in this world
Your parents were very happy
And their hands were your light
And your mom and dad
were beside themselves
Watching even when you were asleep
Your mom stayed up nights
preparing your milk
And in the morning you were cradled
by your dad who was so fond of you
Now that you’ve grown
You want to be free
Though they don’t agree
They can’t do anything
You suddenly changed
You became stubborn
And you went against their advice
You didn’t even take into account
what they did for you.
‘Cause what you wanted was
to follow your whim.
You didn’t pay them heed.
The days passed
You lost your way
You fell into bad ways
And the first you approached
was your weeping mother
And her question: “Child,
What happened to you?”
And your eyes welled up
The tears unconsciously fell
Regret was on your mind
You realized you were wrong
You forgot yesterday
Including your bad ways
Your parents were very grateful
You really cleaned up,
found yourself.
Your thinking got straight.
The days continued on
And you learned to love.
Before long you decided
to settle down
Your youth is over
You’re almost a father
So you strive all you can
The day arrived
Your first child was born
It felt like heaven to you
Now, child, you know
what if feels like
to be a father
It was also what your
mom and dad felt
when they saw you
Now you feel
Now you experience
Now you understand
Your mother was right
Your father was right
Now you no longer wonder
It’s no joke to be a parent
Now you’re experiencing it…
ok, for the translation: Remember the tagalog part is the child, the mandarin part is the parents.
Child:
when you were into this world
your parents saw a dream fulfilled
and their arms were your light
your mom and dad were so worried
did not know what to do
and watched over you even in your sleep
you did not even care
about what they were doing is for you
for you only wanted to chase your dreams
so you ignored your parents
Parent:
everybody has a dream of going far away
and everbody makes mistakes
that you have to walk this long path
but if you are cold, you can hold me tight
and if you are tired, just lean on me
if you are in pain, let me wipe your eyes and take it away
Child:
and your eyes just burst to tears
falling down without you even noticing
and you are filled with regret
when you realize you have made a mistake
you are filled with regret
when you realize you have made a mistake
Parent:
my hair is turning grey as time went pass
my youth has passed and voice becomes hoarse
but please don't be worried or be scared
when you were flying high
I will be leaving this world
I hope you remember my love
which will never fade away
Child:
you are filled with regret
when you realize you have made a mistake
and your eyes just burst to tears
falling down without you even noticing
and you are filled with regret
when you realize you are so wrong wrong wrong wrong
you are filled with regret
when you realize you have made a mistake
you are filled with regret
when you realize you are wrong
I got goosebumps once again from KZ's rendition.

Plss react to kz tandingan put your records on on wishbus
child english version of that song
Unfortunately she didn't make it to the final..with this phenomenal performance she was ranked 7th out of 10..only the first 4 singers made it to the final..don't forget she was sick during the episode..though she sang in Tagalog and mandarin
Sami Sam She was sick during this or before?
the Land of Dez she was sick (got flu) during this episode which was crucial for her..another thing didn't play in her favour..that her order of singing was second among 10 singers..order matters a lot as most singers prefer to sing last so the 500 audiences who are the judges don't forget their performance..to know how much its important..in this episode the last 4 singers who performed were the ones who qualified to the finale..
Anak means Child/Son or Daughter.
To better appreciate KZ’s performance, watch this video with English translation starting at 19:33 th-cam.com/video/gnAjFnsAi8g/w-d-xo.html
Yea she wears contacts..due to sight problems..
i think thats what contacts are for, sight problem lol
Bill Liberati lol not necessary..girls wear contact lenses just to change their eyes colour..
Sami sam. agreed but not (all) girls wear contacts JUST to change their eye colour. alas, i need it too on occasions when wearing glasses would be awkward :/
Gracious Love I have sight problems my self and I wear them most of the time..btw I think Friday episode of the singer which is the last one will have a surprise for us..I think KZ is back..as a guest singer with Jessie J..
Sami Sam - hope so and looking out for it. "see" you around then :)
