How Do I Use Stampin' Blends?

Stampin' Blends are alcohol markers and wonderful coloring tools! In this video, I show you the basics of using them. They come in pairs - a light and dark shade of the color, and there are Blends for the majority of Stampin' Up! ink colors, but not all. There are some additional Blends - Bronze and Ivory, Color Lifter and five pairs of skin tones. When coloring with Blends, you will want to stamp your image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink (or one of the colored ink pads) as it is water based, the opposite of the alcohol markers. On each marker is a thin or thick line which indicates the bullet end or brush end of the marker. I usually use the bullet end as this gives me the most control. Note that your coloring will bleed through to the back of your paper, so you will need to cognizant of this and layer your colored piece on something else. I also recommend making swatches - this will help you see how the colors look when dry, as well as help you select other colors to blend for your image. Don't be afraid to mix colors together - you can get some lovely colors just be combining shades. The best part is that they make you look like an artist - no harsh lines when overlapping and simple to use!
