In my opinion one of the best sporty hatchbacks out there. My Mom bought one in 2016 fully loaded for around 16.000€ in here in germany. It is tuned to 220 hp and has a Miltek sports exhaust which sounds very nice. It has a very nice handling on curvey roads and still its very compact for city driving. I'm currently at summer vacation in the netherlands and averaged around 6 l/100 km even with heavy traffic. So if you want a sporty compact car for daily driving, this is a very good choice 👍🏻
Exactly why I got mine, 12k USD, 54k miles, I average between 28 and 33 mpg and if I'm trying can get into the high 30's. With an intake and intercooler on a tune it's quick, with e30 it is a riot, 1st and 2nd become burnout gears then when it hooks its legitimately surprising.
One of the best hot hatches ever made. You can run 15 inch wheels on them which gives them a nice ride and lightens up the responses nicely. I wish the second gen of it came here to the US, I would have gotten one in a heartbeat as it nicely improved upon the original.
Totally, Ford went all-out and pretty much made a Honda hatch but better. Although I've never been much of a fan of sound of the Ecoboost 4 cylinder engines, there is no denying they're very capable tuning platforms.
4:43 Yep, engine braking is your friend. When we were driving up the side of the smokeys via the highways with a 3/4ton 12v Dodge and a 28ft camper, my dad was up/downshifting... time it wrong and you lugged up and got passed by the rigs. Even when we were in Oregon driving to St Helens/ Mt Hood, rental Trail Blazer... lever down in 2nd or 3rd. I'd hate to drive a CVT or an Auto that has no idea what gear to be in because the driver didn't manually lock it in to 3rd or 2nd.
Fiesta ST is one of the best bang for the buck cars on this planet! Missed my '16 FiST while watching this video. My only gripe on the ST was the rev hang when up-shifting, but I guess you get used to it after a while, shrug. Definitely snagging some of your new stickers!
You can also have that removed via a tune, along with the fuel cut on braking. It makes a world of difference to be able to trailbrake and not have the clunky shifts
I actually did this back in 2019 with my 2015. It overheated near the top, and I had to get out let it sit. I ended up getting altitude sickness. Lucky a nurse was staying at the bnb where I was at who helped me with it.
I'm driving out from Texas in my Cayman next week and this is on my list of things to do. Can't wait. Thanks for letting me experience the pov vicariously through you before the actual thing!
I did the drive in a Mazada CX-30 rental (great car BTW). No issues on the climb. On the downhill I used the tiptronic shift lever to hold the gear and quick stabs of the brakes when necessary. No issues at the brake checkpoint, they said I was way under the threshold. Never had a Fiesta, but I used to own a Focus ST which would have been great for Pikes Peak. I drove it a lot in the mountains of Alaska.
The road above the checkpoint was dirt the last time I was up there about 15 yrs ago. Weather blew in and had to literally crawl at 5MPH the last mile or so as visibility was
Accidentally I discovered your channel and seriously, not even kidding, I'm addicted to it. I discovered my purpose of life. And now I would start working upon it to achieve the same. Earlier when I was a kid I was quite interested towards automobile and stuff and years went I grew up and due to lack of money and confidence my interest got deviated towards content writing and I never got an opportunity to discover the automobile arena myself. But when it's written upon your fate, no one could separate it from you and I wish to start an automobile collection for the rest of my life. Thank you so much sir for the confidence I regained from your channel. I still lack in finance but no issues as I would work upon it to sort it myself 😊💪❤ Together we shall write a new beginning! 😊❤
I recently just bought an ND Miata and these are the kinds of scenic roads I dream of driving it through. Maybe not at this high of elevation but still lol.
Pikes Peak is a bit like Americas Isle of Man TT with the “brush with death margins” but for cars so maybe a little less insane! What an awesome road and scenery.
I would never watch the Pikes Peak Hillclimb in person. 10-11 thousand feet for an extended time with asthma is a bad idea. But I will happily watch it on my TV or laptop because The Hillclimb is bonkers fun.
That was quite a drive! Definitely going to have to add Climbing Pike's Peak to my Bucket List, though I might have to bring some spare oxygen along just to make sure that I can breathe!
When I was there, they wouldnt let us drive up to the summit. Got hypoxia and had to leave pretty quickly, but man it was so cool to check this off my bucket list.
Damn, if your out in this area again I would go Old Stage road from Springs to Cripple Creek then go down Shelf Road or Phantom canyon road to Canon City. Dirt roads that around Pikes Peak and are very scenic and more fun.
Thanks for the ride. Amazing views. Idk why but my mind kept adding 5cyl turbo charger without BOV sound under your narrations 😅 Now imagine going up on gravel at full throttle . Wow. A rallye fan
It’s funny because I’ve never accidentally ended up off a road but for some reason I worry that could happen on a mountain road. Why? It’s literally just a street lol.
You'd have to climb up to about 19,300 ft above sea level to get the air to be exactly half as dense as at sea level. At 14,000 ft, you're still working with about 60% the air density of sea level. Which is enough to notice, but not enough to be worried about.
Wowww, Pikes Peak in a Fiesta!!!! BTW, the ST goes like stink! Out here in Europe we also have the 1,0cc turbocharged 3-cylinder, and that goes really well too.
@@thearousedeunuch to be honest you can do similar results in every generic 1.5 turbocharged engine(i got similar figures in Golf VIII with 1.5 TSI) and actually have decent performance and lower rpm/less noise on highway. I'm not saying current turbocharged, small engines, vastly popular in Europe are perfect, but I'm astounded people are still buying such archaic engines as 1.0 N/A engines. The only field N/a can outdone turbo ones is reliability as 1.0 and 1.5 Ecoboost are infamous for their failures.
@@JeremiBulakowski Lower rpm has to do with gearing, not the engine itself. I specifically didn't want a turbo for a variety of reasons, which is why I went with the 1.0 N/A. Also, I don't need a lot of power; I find momentum driving to be more fun, with the added bonus of getting me in less trouble with the officers of the law.
I'd still have my Fiesta ST if it weren't a "Friday car". I really enjoyed the heck out of it, but man, build quality was awful. Looks like a ton of fun on this road!
Such a fun and relatively relible car that can get good mpgs. But my goodness the paint is horrible. Living in a snowbelt state makes it even worse. I’ll hold onto mine until I start seeing any rust.
I hate those people that don’t know how to drive the mountains which took out 2015 Ford focus turbo ST in 2020 up no problem going up that thing the only problem was when you’re going down using the gears no problem with the people in front of you using your brakes and stopping and stopping forcing you to push in the clutch set a time make you pop the clutch. We go to Colorado every other year take the manual transmission car all the time that’s all we all is manual transmission cars and SUVs and trucks. I’m not on automatic

Can we all just take a moment to recognize a legend, Ken Block, who drifted a AWD 1400hp mustang at 13,000ft here. Absolute madman

Have a 2017 one with stage 1, love it in NL!
And now the time for small cars is gone... Only SUVs

Jealous! 😍
Have a 2015, with stage 2, last of a dying breed here in South Africa, love it!
Admiring the view while cruising at high places is a great experience. I highly recommend it.

After nailing a pothole on 270 and knocking out a tire, 15s will definitely be in my future
I run 16s on mine with 205/50r16s for a better ride lol

Super happy to see that Tedward posted a Fiesta ST drive for the first time! Can't wait until I'm 18 and I can ditch my parents' Prius for a Fiesta ST
As a trucker, stab braking is the technique that makes tractor trailers even mildly functional on the road.

As a Fist owner I am so happy to finally see another one on the channel after so long! Came from an NA Miata as well as this owner! Haha

Miss my FiST so much. Sadly I didn’t have the Recaro seats which are a must.

This is a sign that I have to climb pikes peak after work. Was just thinking about this and here it is.

Driven this a few times - watched the race a few years ago. Highly recommend the experience 👍🏼
Perfect car for the perfect road I think. You don't need an M4 in these roads!
Beautiful view, kinda crazy to see there are big schoolbusses driving around there with those thin road edges.
actually virtually experiencing the drive up makes me wonder how they even race up pikes peak... nope. no way. legends.
We took the cog railway up to the summit of Pikes back in 2011... Aamazing views.
That was quite a drive! Definitely going to have to add Climbing Pike's Peak to my Bucket List, though I might have to bring some spare oxygen along just to make sure that I can breathe!
I watched the 4 wheel two seat side by side video race up the hill a few years ago. Just crazy!!
Growing up near Pikes Peak I always have to remember how crazy 14000ft is for people not from Colorado lol
FAA requires pilots to wear oxygen masks over 10,000 feet. Its definitely not normal lol
I own a FIST and approve of this video 😁
When I was there, they wouldnt let us drive up to the summit. Got hypoxia and had to leave pretty quickly, but man it was so cool to check this off my bucket list.

amazing views!! love your enthusiasm in every video tedward! 🙌
Love the fiesta st but I wonder what his coolant temps were on this climb? This car is notorious for overheating
My biggest fear is falling of a mountain in a car, so I would never drive there 😂
It’s funny because I’ve never accidentally ended up off a road but for some reason I worry that could happen on a mountain road. Why? It’s literally just a street lol.
14:45 why do they get the temp? I didnt watch the whole video but is this to like prevent racing? lol
If your brakes overheat the pedal goes to the floor and you have no brakes.
I've driven in similar enough places. It's scary! The fear is real, i feel ya!
You'd have to climb up to about 19,300 ft above sea level to get the air to be exactly half as dense as at sea level. At 14,000 ft, you're still working with about 60% the air density of sea level. Which is enough to notice, but not enough to be worried about.
FAA requires oxygen over 10k for pilots. It’s enough.
Manual is the ideal choice no doubt!
What a road man those views are insane
It's unfortunte that there's no shipping to the EU for the stickers! Any plans for that soon? Great video as alway man!
I cannot wait until I can pick mine up in a week.
Funny to see how careful the Americans are when driving up/down a mountain. 😂
On 5:11 he said the Swiss Alps 😂😂
That's insane how many bugs there were at the summit!
there is more traffic than ive ever seen in Finland 🤣
I did pikes peak in a 2020 suburban 😅 was nervous lol
Beautiful road and nice car
What is the name of that aftermarked head unit?
Great drive. Would love to see this done in an EV on a single charge.
You could probably fully charge your battery on the way down😂 jkjk
A lot of the Hill Climb cars are electric, including the VW IDR which holds the record.
You did see the Teslas in the video right?
"This would've been cooler unpaved."
Give Blackbear Pass (by Telluride) a shot 😁
It’s so weird seeing Fiestas on the road. I never ever see them in my area
Crazy rare these days
Haha everyone is going slow because the speed limit is 25mpg. I've been here at least 10 times and its great always.
Can you do a video of a 2023 manual mazda 3 please
on this road, engine braking is your friend. especially when you drive a heavy vehicle. now a lightweight fiesta, not a problem but still
Imagine being the schoolbus driver going down it 🥲💀 let alone a light fiesta
Driving is all well and good, but sometimes it's better to be a passenger just focus on the views
🌄
Yeah being the driver in a scenic area sucks. Being the passenger is the best.
I miss the beauty of Colorado's natural scenery. I definitely don't miss the cost of living though.
this car is amazing for many reasons, i wont say, or i wont go into detail cause many pepole know

make sure you chew some coca leaves if you camp up at the top.
Seeing longs trains of trucks and SUVs with hot brakes slowly descending the mountain is such a pitiful sight.
I can't imagine the power loss at such elevation and moreover the incline xddd NA cars might be crying out loud.
bruh my little 2011 Fiesta has 82hp 😭
I guess they have no need to install EV chargers at the summit. Down all the way on regen!
All these cars struggling, the Toyota overheated, but the school bus made it up there???
Also- just bought a sticker. It’s going on a 2014 Chevy Malibu so nothing cool lol
I appreciate it all the same! Thanks
