    I have a question 🙋‍♂️ does this detect laser guns and somewhat block the laser?!

    Whether I have my V1 on or my Redline, I am always looking at the Waze minimap to make sure there is no police reported in the miles ahead, then I actually check the report and see how long ago it was reported. My minimap usually shows about 6 miles distance so as soon as I see them pointed out on waze I already get back down to around 5mph over the limit until I pass the report or if my detector goes off sooner. I find it very necessary to have both a detector AND waze as so many troopers run constant on while driving and are quick to flip a U turn in the median to go after the speeders on our side. Saw that happen 2 times this past weekend driving to South Florida. I can't wait to see the heads up battle between the new Redline EX and R3.

      laser is easy if you have the right jammers. Right now that would be ALP jammers but none of these are cheap.

      Made in Korea. It's a Japanese company but I think these are mainly designed in America by the American division.

    About the 60Db can’t escort give the redline a software update to allow more dB. Or on the circuit board of the detector do they need to add actual different hardware?

      Thomas my R1 is barely more sensitive than my redline. I only use 2 5 8 and laser. Nothing else. The rest of the time there identical

    For police radar to be accurate, it must be used at no more of an angle than 15-20 degrees from the target vehicle. So the radar/LEO must be fairly close to the side of the road. Radar shooting across a roadway at say.....75-90 degrees will not be accurate and may not even clock a vehicle. This is taught by LEO radar instructors in radar certification class. It is true that if you are the lead vehicle and the LEO is using the instant on feature, your detector...no matter the cost, will alert just as the radar unit records your speed.

    • @veilguy
      @veilguy  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      In fact, it wouldn't produce much of a reading because the vehicle wouldn't be traveling in that direction and readings would approach zero. The angle of the road around a curve was more of the factor here at limiting traversing down the highway to other oncoming traffic. Slightly off-angle shots have a much bigger impact on detectability farther away as the radar waves propagate further off-axis.

    There's no Roy's image on the video, other than what RB's website is showing currently. I suspect "RadarRoy" is going to be their "brand" for a time as they work through their transitioning processes. I equate that to the likes of KFC and Col. Sanders, Wendy's as Dave, etc. That's not out of the norm actually when a company has been built around an "individual." Furthermore, there is so much content, that's all not going to go away either. I'm sure Roy would want his face to continue in some respects, at least that's been my understanding.
    Look, I'm happy that they are continuing on because that's what he wanted, that's a fact. It would have been a tremendous loss to this industry has it not or had changed ownership. That happened once already and the quality dropped.
    RB's support both pre and post sales continues to be extremely capable and that's a good thing. I am going to continue to support RB as I always had and I hope their customers well remain loyal supporters. I know she appreciates those who do!

    You not really looking at the picture.
    You speeding but where is your true protection other then using some laser jammers on you vehicle you drive. I am impressed seriously. Laser jammers are ok to use because they will only work against a laser hit. But ask yourself what about radar.
    You see using a radar detector is ok long as your using other vehicles in front of you to shield your car from radar at a distance from police running radar.
    Police radars are very wide like a funnel taking up to 5 or 6 traffic lanes across.
    Laser is narrow like 18in at 300ft hit.
    You see why your more safe speeding with a detector long as your using a front door. The closer you get up on the cop then hit computer can detect your speed.
    Try speeding at night with your High End detector I would like to no how confident you feel driving alone. With a radar detector by itself you are a much easier target to getting his vs someone that is invisible. Until the last minute. That is why I didn't get tht speeding ticket when I was hit with a laser in Illinois. Speeding like 72mph in a 50mph zone. 2 state troopers. Sitting in the middle waiting on me. Now you tell me can a radar do that for ya. Hell no

    You dont need to spend $600.00 on a radio....a Cobra RAD 450 does the exact same thing, has Escort parts, has voice alert, bluetooth, upgradeable, and $130.00. I have got an Escort in one car and the Cobra in another...save your money.

    This guy lost me when he said that they shoot ACROSS the road....HIGHLY UNLIKELY!!! Look up Cosine Effect Error...this reduces your metered speed by the cosine of the angle of incidence. Why would a cop do that??? He wouldn't.

    • @veilguy
      @veilguy  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Angled, not perpendicular. Happens all the time. Yes, they give up a couple of mph, but the stealth factor really works to their favor.

    I counted about 8 seconds to react...IF we are getting a slight PING, REACT! My police friends are setting their alarms from ten over and above to 7...YES...& OVER, but in listening, it is to make sure they take a look up as to WHAT is going by them. I remember JUST a few years back in Wisconsin, I am now in Florida...The speed allowable on the interstate was about 10-12 over...(80-82 MPH nna 70)...SO I would guess, this has also came down too. REACT!

      When I worked on TV's back in the 80's Samsung was terrible, now look at them. It's about the engineering staff, not the name. Boy, people really go for the art of the deal BS.

  • @amin77illinois
    @amin77illinois 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I understand what your talking about all the way.
    But I have been there and done it. Now days using a regular radar detector by itself is pretty much u on the roads today vs the old skool days.
    I wouldn't dare trust any radar detector unless it can protect you like a bullet proof vest.
    That is how back then a young man like myself loss my driving privileges.
    Getting hit with laser and with radar.
    Even the radar detector I use now that has been up graded by escort radar solutions. It picks up good and has that new program installed where it picks up like the redline. Big deal because by itself that that high End radar detector I use is totally useless.
    So what you trying tell people here is BS.
    I have been using my scrambler for years. And that dam device kept me tickets free. Any time I can roll 80mph behind a state trooper on the highway. Just me and him no other car in front of me to catch the bate. That is some military technology. A scrambler can't be tested on trailers or other radar guns. It's because a scrambler Irma built a mind programmed to work on one little computer chip only police officers have in their systems. Now you tell will a regular detector do what I can do everyday. Hell no
    With my scrambler. I was driving 50mph in a 30 zone. No cars around at all. Local police turned right at a traffic light coming my way my STI magnum radar detector was screaming. I gradually slowed down. Right in front of him. Can radar detector do that he'll no. That would have been a stupid big ticket if I were using your radar detector by itself.
    That is why I will never drive with out using the technology I still use today. No tickets at all. And I travel from state to state for years.
    That is why I told you before any radar detector you use by itself is totally useless. I can drive with confidence at night 10mph over vs you can. Did it for years. A scrambler only shields from front only not the rear.

  • @amin77illinois
    @amin77illinois 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    As many years I have been using a scrambler with my radar detector. I can guarantee you that I can drive much safer than you can with that high end detector. The escort max that same radar detector you got now or even my $500 detector I currently own is no match.
    Police instant on is no match because you cannot hit someone coming at as an officer if your computer doesn't show any reading. But how does it works. Reflection just like a mirror. It the scrambler is only programmed to work on one thing. Computer chip. Something people out there do not have any access to period unless they are a police. So basically what I'm trying to say is any radar detector you buy and use is useless without a bullet proof vest.

    Clear your voice, get with a voice coach as you talk to people. That raspy sound, known as "vocal fry" is a habit, not a physical issue. I had it for years. I know you don't know this but it's very annoying and hard to listen to long term. Love the video, however. Looking forward to my first shipment of your product. Ordered it 2 days ago.
