Good info, but i think the drop bracket would be better, that bar is supposed to be horizontal that way if there is articulating suspension up or down there will be en even amount to push axles both ways. If you get the adjustable bar you are just fixing the alignment when truck is on even floor and not when articulating. There would be more movement on one side of the suspension than the other. I thought the same way , that the adjustable one would be the way to go, but no. There is a good video out there explaining this. Makes sense.
Using frame rail lowering bracket will put panhard bar parallel with axle [ At ride height].This will allow less side to side movement by using flatter part of arch. Which gives better handling. The higher up in the arch the more side to side the more rear steer or bump steer you will have . The amount of handling you get with bracket is worth drilling holes . I use bracket and adjustable bar
I just got some UMI non-adjustble pandhard and lca bars, dropped with UMI springs for my 92 camaro.... fortunately i got away on not buying adjustible ones (which are over double the price). If i would have gone lower, i'd be needing them. Great info bro!
I just bought an adjustable panhard from founders performance with some lcarbs. I already had the UMI lcas. The panhard bar from founders performance is pretty cheap.
Is there a formula to figure out ,Say for every inch you raise your truck you should extend the panhard bar X, I am installing mine today , I have a BDS 6” SUSPENSION LIFT in the front the rear was raised 4”s installing core 4x4 adjustable lower & upper control and there pan hand bar ,I have them all set to the factory length ,but after watching your video I’m thinking I need to adjust the panhard bar , what do you think 2012 ram 1500 fox suspension upgrade rear coil upgrade 22” wheels 35” tires been lifted going on
Hi there great vid. Was wondering if it’s worth adding the bar to a y61 Nissan that slide from side to side in turns? 2 inch lift front and back. Thank you
@@secrets532 To be honest I'm not that familiar with the Y61 platform, but if your truck is shifting side to side I can tell you from experience that it Sounds like the bushings in the ends of your panhard bar have failed. You can check by getting under the truck and watching where the bar ends mount to the frame and axle while trying to shift the body side to side. Everything should be good and solid, but if you see movement between the mounting points the bushings have failed.. You could try just replacing the bushings but considering that you're running a decent bit of lift it'd probably be worth just replacing the whole bar with an adjustable one.
I'd just take a tape measure and take some measurements to see if the axle is still centered in the car. Measuring from the inside edge of the tire to the frame on both sides should do the trick. If the measurements are the same on both sides, there no reason to change the bar. But if the measurements indicate the axle is shifted to one side, then an adjustable bar would allow you to get it back to center.
If you're vehicle is lowered, the rear end will now be offset and an adjustable panhard bar is mandatory. Unsure why the gentleman running the channel thinks there's a chance it will be centered.. If totally stock it is centered, lowered it will be off center. Plain and simple.
If I have an adjustable pan hard bar with adjustment on one side of the bar where should the adjuster be placed. Closest to the axle or the sub frame or does it matter? Thank you for your time
I'm not sure that it matters. I just place the end with the adjustment where it's easiest to get to and make adjustments after it's installed. I've installed a couple this way and so far no issues. 🙂👍
Just put it where ever it's easiest to make adjustments. If it's a dual threaded adjuster like a tie rod -- make sure you have equal threads on both sides; because you can accidently get all your threads on one side and only have a a few threads holding on the other side. The best way to do it is to get both ends started-- and then just turn your central adjustment bolt so that it's tightening equally to both sides at the same time.
I need to know the correct lengt of the pannhard bar, because mine on my 2015 RAM 4x2 that y recently bought is bend and i dont know if it had the correct lengt or the correct form.
"Ram or Fiat. However you want to say it" I think I'd say Ram, Ram and Fiat, Fiat. I understand what you're getting at but I haven't see a Fiat 2500 4x4 Diesel sooo..
Usually that would be caused by an out of balance tire, bent wheel or maybe a bent axle if it's a solid axle car. The panhard bar wouldn't have any effect on wobble.
@@eramydelatorre7709 I would start with the wheel and tire itself before diving in straight into the axle check balance if it still wobbles check the wheel for any dents then look into suspension components
I see things . In my mind , I see a pan hard bar with a hydraulic cylinder in the middle . A system driven by rear shock pressures controls the length of the PHBar . Down and up pressure ... long and short on bar length . Am I JUST seeing things ???
the panhard bar just doesnt make any sense to me, siince it pulls or pushes the axle sidewas if the axle goes up or down, i wonder why such a bad design ever made it to the market. can anyone proof me wrong?

Have a few questions about my panhard bar on a 1957 Buick I want to lower...how do I get ahold of you to ask? Thanks Jimmi V.
My F350 7.3L diesel 6spd manual 4x4 has a Dana 60 in the front with leaf springs --- and it still has a panhard bar.
Question - my vehicle is my panhard bar is bent. Is that normal?
Is it safe for a longer travel truck?
Hi there great vid. Was wondering if it’s worth adding the bar to a y61 Nissan that slide from side to side in turns? 2 inch lift front and back. Thank you
Thanks! When you say it slides, do you mean it loses traction? Or that the body just shifts from side to side over the axle?
@@TheBudgetMindedMotorist The body shifts from side to side. The suspension is a fox 2.0 with adjustable stiffness. Thanks

Hi Im getting a 2inch lift kit. Do i need to replace my panhard? Thank you in advance
Are you doing a 2 inch lift front and rear? Or just lifting the front 2 inches so the truck is more level?

With the new jimny 2019. If lifted about 50mm or lower, is there a need to change pan bar?
I would.

If installed right theres very little side to side . If installed wrong you will avoid curve roads
Samuel it’s simple, lightweight and cheap. And it works well enough within certain constraints.
Adjustable bar makes things worse
Thank you
You are welcome! Nice WS6!
