Just a suggestion, since you have a door stop in place. Maybe do a drop down table behind the door. Also a apartment size stove or just a cook top. All refrigerators are designed with reversible doors. So your fridge can open up into the kitchen. You did a beautiful job on this project. Keep up the good work.
That's a good idea! I was really struggling with what to do for a dining table, if any, so that idea is great! True, I had planned on reversing the refrigerator doors. And thank you for the kind words, very much appreciated!!
To be honest, this is great for older people, or younger people who are just starting out so they can accumulate savings. Many people seem to have more house than needed if they don't have children in the home because some spaces either get crowded with unnecessary storage and clutter or go unused.
Thanks for the kind words, I definitely felt the same way, I would have loved an opportunity starting out to have some small space to call home, minor upkeep, and be able to start saving some real money!
That's too bad that he doesn't have a Habitat for Humanity re-use store where he lives, they have new and used everything for homes for dirt cheap prices.
@@elijahemmons1999 Glad to hear that you are up on that info bro as an investor. Here in MN, we have 2 to choose from, I turned over my 1976 trailer using those stores. It looks like a brand-new one inside and out. I bought mine in 2012 and the prices for everything were ridiculous. 1 example was (1000 sq ft) of premium vinyl siding 7 new full boxes cost me $240. That kind of price is gone now but still great prices, it was great at the time.
@@lionelhowell4972 Oh man, sounds like you killed it on fixing up that trailer! That is definitely a smoking deal on siding! Maybe sometime I will have to grab a truck and trailer, and head up there to my nearest one, and see what they got!
Excellent job! I would build a unit with drawers to go under the bed - plenty of space there. I know many people who would be thrilled to have something this nice to call home.
7:27 outlet probably should've been a GFCI since it's within 6 feet of a water source unless it's already on a GFCI breaker but otherwise nice use of the space
It's not too bad, if I had to do it over again I would have thrown everything I had into it as soon as I got it, but over the last two years we have done some other projects that took money and time, so I guess it works out! And thanks for the compliments
Fair enough, that's something that came with the shed when I bought it, not my favorite placement either. Maybe they will hang a picture over it 😂 but thanks for the love!
Thanks! I almost went with a ceiling fan, but since the ceiling is vaulted, the fan would have sat very low so that it wouldn't hit the ceiling, if that makes sense
Needs a different small sofa that makes into bed or the oversized chair that makes into a bed. Get a slide out table where you can pull up both sides to use then push back. Then a full size bed or twin and add a small tall dresser with floor to ceiling light like the 60s they’re around $30 on up. Add rugs pictures you’re done well that and nice curtains…or cool shades.
Not bad at all, especially for a single person. Cost of rent will depend on location. We lived in a studio apartment in northern California about twice this size that is renting for well over $2000 per month. Not bad at all but the couch needs some work. 😊
Thank you! Yes I could have, but when I bought the shed the walls were already in place, and electrical was already run. So it would have meant a lot of reworking of wires, because there are two outlets on that wall, and removal of a couple of studs. So it was very doable, but would have been more work, and more money. So I opted to not. I was very close to swinging the other way though
Cute house, don't like the couch in the living room at least the extra wood that comes out from it. I would have let them bought in what they wanted. The cabin's above the air/heater unit could have been lower somewhere else in the room. But I really like the house in general.
Thank you! Very good input, that's definitely how I feel in the end, I thought the couch would turn out better, but I'm not the craftsman I hoped I could be 🤣
@@elijahemmons1999You’ll figure it out no worries. Just watch a few more tiny house builds you’ll get some ideas! You don’t have to build a couch up for storage they’ve got plenty of small couches and chairs with lift up cushions for storage space underneath!
@@denisekenney6436 Thanks! Yeah, there are definitely a lot of other options out there, most of which would have probably turned out better. But you live and learn I guess 😂 And I definitely want to keep researching, and working on/ building more tiny houses, So I definitely plan to keep learning!
Love it as a home because with all that land one could put in a huge deck and shed and all sorts, but as a rental most folk would be unwilling to put in that equity. Good effort though and you will for sure see good ROI. Also being such a tiny space and being in Texas with good sun you could take her off grid electrically for only 2 or 3 thou. PS. viewing from Thailand so not prospective renter!!!!!!
That's true, yes! Definitely good ideas, if I were to sell the place, that's exactly what I would do with it. Upgrade it, turn it into more of a home. Thank you for the love from Thailand!!

Total was less than $15,000, that was to purchase the shed, move it, remodel it, appliances, driveway for property, and all connections from City and power. I just posted another video, which goes into detail about the cost of everything, and a little more in depth tour, and what it took for each part of the process!
its a cute space but change the color to more neutral so it can match people decore. please remember you might have built the place and its what you like but its should always be about the customer and what will sell or get their interest
No keep that paint , its a chick magnet for single guys renting ( source , am a chick , i want that paint !) Plus its a color you can still see with cataracts / glaucoma , my momma had that . And it helps cheer me up when my bipolar flares up.
TV all the other options were too high I thought, decided to just do a door stop, and the TV swivels out which I think looks nice 🤷🏼♂️ couch is definitely not my favorite, was going purely for functionality, since it acts like a table and a chair and storage
I do, although I do also remember a time when houses weren't all huge, and people lived in little cabins, much like this 🤷🏼♂️ that said, I too keep my tools and camping stuff in a building twice this size 😂
You should have gotten a white refrigerator to match the stove. The refrigerator should open from the other side. The build quality of tiny house seems very poor. Everything looks like it was thrown together.
Well if it were going to be my home I would have completed with maybe some different finishings and final touches. However this is a rental, and the more money you put into a rental the more you risk if the tenant mistreats the property/appliances. I think that would have been foolish, especially with this being our first tiny home rental, and experimenting with it 🤷🏼♂️ for some reason the white fridge was not on clearance like the black one was, saved $200 where I could, and it's why I was able to keep this entire build under $15k
He did a great job dude! Why does there always have to be a dick on every video. Sure it needs tweaking but for first time build for this young man you need to learn some basic people skills. Yeah, thanks again for the input dick😬

What part of the video makes you think that? If it's all the mud in the trench, we had just that night had 2 inches of rain, so that's what that is. But if it was something else, I am genuinely curious!
I hadn't planned on it being that much, but when I looked at comparable units, mine was still the lowest listing at $500. The other thing to keep in mind with a small space like this is that bills are significantly lower, likely 25% of a normal sized house. I think it will make somebody very happy!
I'm very proud of the work I did, but this is only my second rental, I'm definitely going to asking a little below market rate. I think it will make someone very happy!
