I am not an Italian, but I've lived in milan for 30yrs. Here's two tips on how to perfect your italian bike brands pronounciation. CAMPAGNOLO say: CAM PAN YOLLOW CINELLI say: CHINELLY :-) :-) This bike looks FAB!
Happy to see some love for the 600 tri color. I am rebuilding my 1987 Paramount with it. The original Campy parts are long gone and this was the best I could get my hands on at a reasonable price.
Your not far wrong...I had the idea then couldn’t believe my luck when they appeared New old stock in the USA 🇺🇸 eBay saves the day 👍 Thanks for watching and the support
Wow great job Andy. Did not think I would like the colour scheme but I love it. Miss cycling on those English country roads. All the best from Canada. John.
Someone is ready to win the Tour on that bike, beautiful, Andy, thanks for bringing it back to life. And the homemade paint job was interesting, I don't recall that being a thing here in the States. We were more like just put STP stickers all over a bike. :)
So nice to see you again with a new bike rebuild and then with a nice idea to rebuild a bike like a shimano 600 promotion bike. Really awesome, it fit so nice together. Stay well my friend, best regards from germany ✌😃👍🚲🚲
Next to the gold arrow group set the 600 tri color is my favorite retro Shimano sets. Nice and clean. Sharp looking with the white frame and decal set. A perfect fit. Cheers. Sorry for the late post. Hope to see more soon.
Marvellous, absolutely marvellous, Andy. If it's too small, fetch it up to Crumpsall and leave it with me - I'll even waive my usual 'headache-relieving' fees, just for you ('cause I'm nice like that) ;-) Seriously though, as others have said, a fitting tribute to Shimano's 100th anniversary. Wonderful work, sir.
Very tutorial, informative and well conveyed...I will start on my grandfather's Hetchins 54cm , grandfather is no longer around but when I look at the bike , he has never left. I will leave the beautiful patina but polish the amazing lug work on the seat stays and chain stays and bottom bracket shell and fork blades.
Thanks for watching I’m glad you enjoyed it and that’s it’s inspired you to clean and look after your late grandfathers bike. It’s a rewarding and great thing to do…enjoy and thanks for your support
lovely job Andy :-) I'm about to start on my Major Nicholls that I raced on in the 80s. I've sourced a Shimano 600 group (pre tricolour) for it along with some MA40 rims. Just need to get the frame resprayed in its original midnight blue colour now. I say "just"! It'll still take me a couple of months to sort! My late dad bought me the frame as a 21st birthday present so I want to do it justice.
Thanks for watching and the support, this project has taken me months. I think it’s key to take your time and enjoy the journey. I’m sure you’ll do a great job👍🚲
I see you make films - I think I speak for many of us reading your OP when I say it'd be nice if you could share the transformation/restoration, even if it's just a before and after vid. A larger audience of appreciation for your hard work, if you will. All the best, in any event :- ) .
@@C345OFR thanks. I am planning before and after build videos. I made one a while back about my Peugeot which you can find on my channel if you like :-) (I'm not going to spam Andy's channel and post a link to it here).
You've just taken things to another level there Andy. That looked like a fantastic restoration project and the grey lugs certainly set the pearl white finish off beautifully. You are doing a great job at bringing new life into old bikes , I can't believe you got hold of a turbo saddle !
Hello there Andy.... great to have you back with another restoration I'd had my share of no name frames over the years.... it's good to know I'm not alone.... great video and a fantastic job as always...best regards pal..🚴♂️
Thanks buddy...it’s a nice a rare thing to have a one off bicycle. Loved the ride on this one shame it’s a little to small for me otherwise it definitely would of been a keeper
For all of us' back in the day' old folks great build. My first proper index group set, ma 40 rims ,531,turbo saddle, paint was lush mate. Maybe blue hoods would take it to the Jedi level.
Nicely done! I was able to purchase a second hand Trek 520 frame from maybe 2007 for cheap. I raided my dads parts bin and found unused shimano Deore XT rim brakes, a Deore Xt Triple crank set, an XTR front mech, and a deore xt rear mech. All from the 90s. Now I have a sweet touring bike with retro shimano. I love it!
Once again a beautiful bike! Your videos are so pure! From parts to a flying machine!! And the attention to detail... Makes us vintage bicycle lovers feel warm inside! Keep up the great work! All the best!!!
Thanks so much for your kind words of support just happy you like. I really enjoy bringing these treasures back to life. Hopefully for future generations to appreciate. Take care all the best Andy
I enjoyed the Banana 🍌 build also....🤔🚲I have a load of restorations to get through first, maybe start looking for anther though. No harm in looking 😬 thanks for the support and watching 👍
Beautiful restoration but must admit I'm pinning for a different bike to be restored just for the novelty value. Maybe something like a folding bike; a Raleigh 20 or maybe a Dawes Kingpin or maybe a Raleigh Chopper or Grifter if you haven't done one already. Maybe a classic 3 speed hub road bike, they used to be a thing. Maybe a slightly older road bike like the old BSA's.

Hi Andy. Excellent refurb as ever - high quality work. Hope it is bequeathed to someone shorter than you who can enjoy it's full potential. Keep up your grand work.
Nice , No clues from the frame number then.? A British thread BB and reynolds tubing hmm . Like the grey lug paint touch.. cannot beat that shimano group.. so durable.. Those new Turbo saddles seem harder than the old ones.. Must be me getting soft or getting used to Charge saddles which I rate quite a bit. ! Yeah good job very nice bike..
Hello my friend, no frame numbers I posted it in a load of facebook groups with no joy. I think in general the saddles are getting harder, or maybe us getting older probably the latter. Thanks so mush for you long lasting support stay well thanks again Andy

Amazing build to celebrate 100 years of Shimano. Did you have to do anything to the lettering on the group set? Was it in such a good condition when you received it?
Thanks for your support George, it took an 8 speed block. I had the rims from another build, think 🤔 they were from the Raleigh 653 race build. All the best 👍
