It would depend on how plentiful the food was. Swans will drown other swans cygnets. In fact parent swans teach their cygnets to swim under water ducking and diving through the reeds, just in case another swan tries attacking them.
Yes they are closely related. They are closely related because of the fact they are all adapted to swimming and other things involving water. Together they are known as waterfowl.
My old Biology teacher told us that when she had gone hunting once, she shot a swan when it was with its mate. The other began wailing as it saw the other die. Then she felt bad and decided to leave afterwards.
I created a character for my novel whose name means “swan” and I’m so surprised to see how similar his personality is to real life swans! Maybe it was the destiny 🥰
I wouldn't classify that behavior as "being mean", they are simply protecting their nests, progeny, and immediate surrounding food source. Nothing mean about that! That's making sure they live!
When I worked at a wildlife sanctuary one of the jobs was to feed the swans out of a wheelbarrow. As soon as you grabbed the wheelbarrow to go get the food they would all start marching toward you like dawn of the dead. Got me over my fear of swans though.
PLEASE DO WOLVES. I love wolves so much and know quiet a lot. I wanted to study wolves more when I got older, like an ologist. I dont know if that makes sense lol but you know..
The oddest thing, we had swans down at the beach, hadn't seen swans on salt water before. I didn't think they were jerks, they were quite nice, we fed them bread sticks. They were used to humans, didn't run away or feel threatened, almost as if they enjoyed the attention and if you have food they'll fall in love with you instantly.
i’m unsure if macaws have been featured, but as a macaw owner, i would love to see them on here. i loved the bearded vulture video, i’d love to see more birds.
The swans near where I live like to go for a walk through the village. I once stepped outside my house to two adult swans and their four teenage babies on my front garden. Not the easiest group to walk past XD good thing these guys were relatively tame.
Ive noticed in your videos that when you draw, you tend to make features short and thick. They always look nice, but i just find it interesting that your brain wants to shorten things and make them beefier. The swan in this video is a perfect example. It has a noticeably shorter neck and a thicker beak then I would have chosen to draw it. I just find that interesting
right by my school their is a pond that has a bunch of salamanders and ducks and always one swan couple, and they might not be fisty but whenever they are on land they usually slowly walk after me so that out of pure fear i just give him all the bread i have, and one time on the nasional day here in norway, the male swan walked almost all the way up to the school, scaring all the kids away from the playground, just so that he could poop on one specific spot and the he headed back home, something interesting that happens is that when the swans lay eggs they actually eat the unfertilized eggs.
They also have an amazingly romantic dance, when they demonstrate how they can synchronize the movements and be in harmony with the partner. Actually this is the first bird I see where females have equal part in the dancing. On the bad side: the fidelity is a myth, genetical research shows that approximately 17% of chicks are from another males (and the same female), and there is a channel about swans where adultery was documented: the male flied away and the female cam to the human with the lover, a younger one than the husband was and with no tremor in legs. But after the spouse returned from Italy she returned to him, and the young lover met another young female swan, so now both pairs visit the humans separately. The author of the channel also documented domestic violence on behalf of males only, and the male even prohibited the female to drink with him by angrily looking at her. So, far from the romantic dreams, but still close enough...I also loved the thing about swan fathers being able to sit on the eggs, if the female is dead, but he forgets to turn them, so lower chances that the chicks will hatch.
I heard that a boat race in Glasgow was cancelled because *one* swan was in the river. After seeing the monstrously huge birds up-close and personal, I can understand why. An whole *flock* mobbed me for a small bag of bread crusts. One even bit me. Did you know the inside of their bills is serrated?
Now whenever someone says that they're so beautiful and majestic I'm gunna go "and have straight up murdered fools" Also I was expecting for her to go "that they killed" in relation to that adoptive pair lmao
Ooh! Do a video on the Marabou Stork. They're pretty creepy looking and have some pretty evil and nasty habits. You'd find a lot of neat/odd things about the birds.
One time a goose got ran over and the person behind them picked it up and put it in the grass by the others ones.... they stared and we were worried they wouldn’t leave, when geese are a couple like swans and one dies they basically become a widow, this made me so sad when it happened
Did you know that sometimes if swans lose their parteners they even reportedly commit suicide...by flying high and just fold their wings and dive head first into whatever it will hit. Or others drowned themselves
If swan can wait 20 years for their right mate so can I.
chayanuch utara why do I relate to this so much
Sure
i waited one near world ending event then waited 300 years for nothing...

I know I sure did
So Swans can be considered to have better loyalty for 'marriage' then a lot of humans. Now that is funny.
Sozin really? I thought they cheated
I mean humans aren't a monogamous species in nature, and we can only push away our natural instincts so much.

Because love is defined as having sex with only one partner for life. *sigh* Love is so much more deeper than that. Oh well, what will the PETA know?

Sometimes I wish I was one of these bird species. True Love is so much easier when you don't have to worry about the issues of the human world.
Aww they adopt other swans instead of being mean!! 🥰
*huh?*
Sometimes they adopt them, sometimes they murder them for entering their territory, it depends on the couple really. Some are nicer than others.
It would depend on how plentiful the food was. Swans will drown other swans cygnets. In fact parent swans teach their cygnets to swim under water ducking and diving through the reeds, just in case another swan tries attacking them.
Imagine thinking, “I’m being killed by a swan”
Swans are part of the Geese family, aren't they? That would explain the first part.
No swans are no geese. Swans are swans, no family to geese!
i'd say distant cousin
Ah, okay. Thanks to both of you.
Yes they are closely related. They are closely related because of the fact they are all adapted to swimming and other things involving water. Together they are known as waterfowl.
They are all members of the Anatidae family

Ooo, that's so cute! I'm working on a story involving swans.
Does he drown a person by pushing him out of his kawak and then prevent him from swimming to the shore?
Have you done Grey Wolves yet? I ask for obvious reasons!
Your name
yes, do grey wolves!!
Grey Wolves!!! :D ^_^
Dire wolves wait I'm on the wrong channel
There was a swan pair at our lake in the town some years ago. One of them got run over by a car, the other one died of grief one year later.
I wouldn't classify that behavior as "being mean", they are simply protecting their nests, progeny, and immediate surrounding food source. Nothing mean about that! That's making sure they live!
A swan killed a man? Must’ve been a frustrating way to go out.
there was actually a swan in münster (germany) that fell in love with a swan-shaped boat!!
Its illegal to kill a swan in the England for its the queens animal.
But not the natinol animal

Can you do a video on ostriches?
It's so cute that those swans already had 9 babies but decided to adopt those other 6 even though they already had many mouths to feed
I don’t know why, but Daniel looks more badass in this video. Maybe the jacket? 🤔
Sometimes, if a swan looses its pair, it might never fall in love again. How tragic...

Im amazed this channel isn't more popular
We have some aggressive swans here in Camrose Alberta. They do not like people walking past *their* sidewalk.
Imagine dying because of a swan
I think you should do one on chickens because they are pretty smart and they have perfect personality.
