I am a 69 fishing Grandmother. I drag a fishing cart to the Jetty in Ft. Pierce, Florida. Have caught: Snook, Flounder, Pompano, Redfish, Black Drum , Trout, Mutton Snapper, Mangrove Snapper, Gag Grouper, Take me fishing!!!! #FishingTrip
You cant go wrong with the blue goofish rod. Its a good quality rod and affordable compared to other rods. Also the penn batallion slow pitch rod looks nice too, but i havnt found any in stock. As far as the reel, it depends on how much you want to spend and how light you want it. I have an Accurate valiant 300 on my setup, but you could also go with shimano torium 20, Maxxel, Penn fathom15 or 20...

Man October is a great month for just about anything that swims inshore, AND it should be cooling off alittle bit by then so it won't be as miserable fishing Lol You could fish the rigs with some live shrimp and catch specks, reds, ladyfish, Spanish...etc
Im not sure of the model electric reel i was using other than it was a daiwa. I have a tanacom 500 that i normally use but didnt bring on this trip. They are very helpful in deep water. Thanks for watching!
@@CaptCollier Yea I figured. Did overnight trip a few years ago with some friends and stayed night at a rig about 60 miles out. Caught some nice gags and a big eye (think that’s the correct name, think you caught one on a video too)
Those Blue Goofish rods are something else. It is funny you go into a tackle shop and all they have are Star and Penn slow pitch rods. The Goofish blows them out of the water. Don't have to be so worried about high sticking because they are solid rods. I can tell you for a fact the Star slow pitch rod does not take to high sticking at all. Never have won anything but what the heck. #Prizepackage

What would be a good slow pitch rod and real to get. I was looking at some calcuttas for the real. Not sure on a rod though.
