Did you compare the integrated engineering intercooler with the DO88 here from Sweden? Its supposed to have better flow than Wagner Tunings which also was the biggest one before?

I got bummed out when he said that :( I feel like i learn new things all the time watching you work on masterpieces over the years, thanks to you, I knew how to help others. SOOooo Excited to see the Evo 8 evolve. :)
the thing you said is a turbo speed sensor, it’s actually the diverter valve Evan, it does the same thing as a blow off valve but recirculates into the intake

Nice to see a VW on the channel ! As an ex VW dealer tech ... once you know how they come apart they are actually really simple and make sense . Also .. haven't gone back and watched the old vids on it but looks like the waterpump is/was leaking by the stain on the oil pan . One last thing ... big difference between old and new watercooled VW owners .
They would really hate their life's if they had to change the new style water pumps 🤣 but I would love to see them do it hahaha. I do them All the time and still hate them
You need a vibrant resonator instead of the stock one, it will give it more bass without being raspy, but the problem is the stock muffler, with it will be quite and without it will be annoying, maybe try a club sport muffler.
@@TheAndy7042 what I'm saying is you need a muffler with a downpipe or else it will sound like shit, I am aware that a downpipe would increase the sound dramatically.

Check that thermostat housing for leaks or evidence of replacement. That white residue on the oil pan is from coolant. Pretty common on mk7/mk7.5 mqb cars.
Also that that electronic part on the turbo doesn’t monitor turbo speed, it’s a diverter valve. It’s a recirculating system so it diverts extra boost back into the system rather than a blow off valve venting it to atmosphere.
correction* the is38 does not have a turbine speed sensor as that was just released on the mk8, what he pointed to is the diverter valve to release pressure back into the intake when throttle is shut

Exactly how is a true front mount worse and just might as well run the stock cooler? The stock cooler is thin and sandwiched between two hot heat exchangers. How is that just as good as a thick, aluminum bar and plate intercooler hanging out in the wind at the front of the car with tons of airflow? Just want to understand your reasoning. Why are you running true front mount setups on your other cars?
@WonderWaffle I have an ARM one on my MK6 and a Neuspeed unit on my MK5 with the stock cooler deleted on both. They work great. Very well made and thick with great fin density. I can understand the IE unit working well because of the massive surface area and thick core, but to say a real front mount is as bad or worse than stock is ridiculous.
@WonderWaffle Couldn’t have said it better man I got a CTS fmic for my mk7 and it’s worlds better than the stock one lol I can’t believe people still argue over what’s better, 6 years that this platforms been out

Sheesh it actually sounds pretty good with the stock exhaust with the muffler on it
I’m running a CTS catted downpipe with a MBRP exhaust and it sounds killer. I have a video if you’re interested in listening
Just throw a set of Bronze 17" Enkei RPF1s on there with a meaty tire set up ;)
The intercooler on my 12 regal gs was like that. Between radiator and condenser. A fmic was a must and helped tremendously
Positive message today was so true and I often need to be reminded of that. Thanks for the positive force!
To be honest I quite like install videos. One of the main reasons I watch automotive TH-cam is to learn about different cars and different parts.
Records are set on a true FMIC setup, regardless if the IE one flows better.
Don’t do a muffler delete been there best thing that sounds good is a AWE exhaust.
Congratulations on the stage2+ intercooler XD
Also, get a magnaflow dual exit exaust without dampner, sounds perfect
And delete the resonator!
I have a VW CC of the same model year with a rear muffler delete and its the perfect volume for me living in a more residential area
