i’m kinda shook cos i’m polish too and to hear that some of my own people get murdered so horribly. to add i experience a bit of discrimination for being an immigrant and it’s scary (ō.ō)
It's terrible, but also admittedly fascinating to me (with all respect for the victims). Here in the US, at least what I'm aware of, racial discrimination shoves all white races into one "race." I can't say that's good or bad, just different. And I know it wasn't always that way here; lots of history of discrimination against immigrants who were Polish, Italian, Irish, Slovak, etc. But is this still common in Europe?

As a fellow Polish person, I can't believe the cruelty i inflicted on Kalite and Marius. Why is the world so cruel to us Poles? It seems important to mention that these teens probably would've lashed out whatever ethnicity Kalite happened to be, but it still hurts. 💔
i am American but of Polish decent (maternal grandfather). I have read a lot on Polish history and I have to agree with you. It's disgusting on how people treat Poles. even here in America, my family was ridiculed and treated poorly due to where we are from (my grandfathers siblings and parents). We (americans) also used to have Deeds to houses that say the house is not to be sold to Polish people. like wtf did Poles do to other races? 🤷🏻
I'm polish living in Ireland for most of my life and alot of people here are very welcoming, but there are a few who don't like us. There's alot of Polish immigrants in Ireland and some people think that were taking their jobs. It was more so back when Polish people really started coming here. Again so many Irish people are so welcoming but there will always be those few that have something against us.
I was so bored with true crime stories before finding your channel. I love the way that you don't sensationalize the stories but still really try to tell the story in an engaging and human way. Your voice also really helps me sleep when I want to but I can still pay attention if I want LOL.
God I remember it. What I don't remember was that there were two men killed. I'd not long moved from Crumlin to Ballyfermot where crims used to just shoot other crims in the kneecaps outside their kids nursery not stab innocent men in the head with screwdrivers. There was a lot of racism against eastern Europeans too at that time :(
Hello, a Dubliner born and raised here! I can say Drimnagh is not a ‘relatively’ safe area, no idea what news source claimed it was haha. A friend of mine grew up there and he himself would say it’s known for crime.
My baby brother hates murder stuff and he came in to ask me something and just goes "NOPE NOPE NOPE I KNOW THAT VOICE IVE HEARD HER VOICE ENOUGH TIMES IM OUTTA HERE!" I thought it was so funny.
You’d probably find they were shouting P*lack, which is an ethnic slur against Polish people in the English language (You see it in A Streetcar Named Desire). Since it’s not as common use over here like it was in the US, it just goes to show the sheer level of hatred and racism is disgusting. Hell, calling the assault a ‘mad night’ is stomach churning- over an ACCIDENT. They killed him over an accident. True evil- RIP to the poor man and any victims. Don’t get me wrong, I feel for those with addictions and they NEED help (adults who turn a blind eye to this are enabling it. Vodka- any alcohol has a potent odour, so it wouldn’t be hard to tell. Likewise there’s always signs) but it’s no excuse to cause harm either. I genuinely feel these kids were troubled big time, left to their own devices, and took that out on the world. Unfortunately it’s innocent people that pay the price.

I am Polish a well, but born and raised in the US. Why is there so much stigma toward Poles in the UK. In my opinion, it seemed like British people are more welcoming towards African or Middle Eastern migrates than Polish people. Which does not make sense because Poles are fellow Europeans like the British.
@@daisy-wt9pd your comment is kinda racist btw. Kind of paints a narrative of they are also white unlike those black people that deserve more hate. I'm Irish but actually have never heard of this case. Thanks so much for covering it, Eleanor. There's actually a case, the Ana Kriégel case, that took place here in Dublin as well where these two 13-year-old boys murdered a 14-year-old girl and it was heavily talked about when it happened back in 2018. I think it might be an interesting case as well if you're interested in covering more Irish cases.
"And then his uncle got out and started beating him up too" Me: Gee, I wonder where they get it from 🙄 In all seriousness, it's so sad that those teenagers had such terrible role models and knew nothing else but crime. Of course, it's even sadder that two innocent men died because of those teenagers. But I always wonder how many lives would still be here if it weren't for abusive, terrible parents creating murderous humans beings.
Racist Thugs, most probably why we didn’t hear about this case! It’s sad for one human to do this to another but a group attack based on racism infuriates me. RIP TO THOSE INNOCENT MEN ❤️🇵🇱
A very harrowing case, I remember being in my late teens/early 20's between 2005 - 2008. Britain & Ireland really was broken and over run with lawless youths at the time. I used to hang out with friends on the streets drinking and taking drugs I also used to sell them. Thank God I had a good home life and knew better to never get dragged into violent situations or hurt anyone.
@ Briar Elyse Say out loud the letter “k”. Focus on the first sound you make when you say the letter K - before the “ay” sound. So essentially start to say “k” but instead of finishing with “-ay” (as we all would) replace that with “yo”. So it’s that first sound when you say “k” and then say “yo” after. So spelling it out into 2 syllables it might sound like “kuh-yo” but it should mesh into 1 word to pronounce “Keogh”. Practice this until it flows easily into one word. Like just take that first sound in K and follow with “yo” after. That’s the best way I can describe it lol sorry if it sucks my bad lmao
As soon as I saw the flag in the thumbnail I thought "oh goodness what have we done now?". I felt better once you mentioned you rarely went to Ireland on this channel 😅
It must have been so scary for the Polish men and woman who had to endure all of this, terrifying. And the woman and family, I can't even imagine how terrified the mum must have been.

And I know it wasn't always that way here; lots of history of discrimination against immigrants who were Polish, Italian, Irish, Slovak, etc. But is this still common in Europe?

Ireland is very racist.
i am American but of Polish decent (maternal grandfather).
True evil-

Don’t get me wrong, I feel for those with addictions and they NEED help (adults who turn a blind eye to this are enabling it. Vodka- any alcohol has a potent odour, so it wouldn’t be hard to tell.
