- This is my HP Envy 13 Review. There are a few HP Envy 13" models for 2018 but this one is the HP Envy 13 ah0010nr LINK: amzn.to/2PglZFp
with a Intel Core i7 Quad Core Processor, 8GB of RAM, 13.3" 1080p Display and a 256GB SSD and all aluminum build. I like how a lot of laptops have the design where it slightly elevates the laptop when you open it.
It makes sense and it's good for ventilation of the laptop and an improvement for posture and comfort while typing.
I think you should also make note of if a laptop is user upgradable/replaceable since some people like to replace/upgrade components in a laptop down the line like RAM and internal storage.
what i've noticed with this laptop in particular that since theres that hinge, it really does cut into your lap when you have it on there. apart from that its a great idea i dont really see why other manufactures dont use it.

The idea stared by a gaming laptop and exists in several like razor and msi as far as I remember like from 2 or 3 years ago
I just don't really like it on the hinge. I would want it to operate like the Asus gaming laptop that has an extended feet, as opposed to like their new Zenbooks which has hinges that doesn't inspire confidence in their sturdiness. Won't wanna slam it when you lose dat CS:GO game.
The hinge will get scratches over time

hi, i need some advice to buy a new laptop :) So, next year i´ll be going to college to study product design (but it´s different, like a mix between design, architecture and product design ingeneering) so I´ll be using heavy duty apps but i need to take it to class everyday, it needs to be light. It´s required to have 8 or 16 (better) gb ram, SSD, good graphics card and preferable to run windows. THANKS! :D
The i5 version of this, or the huawei matebook x pro i5? In my country the price difference is not that much. Any thoughts? I do some web browsing, light gaming, microsoft office(words etc) and watching videos mainly.

I have this laptop it is fantastic. The only thing I am not a massive fan of is the trackpad. It is really good for using at college.

I want to buy the HP envy 13" 16gb RAM 2019, for 1080p video editing, however, here in Serbia, we only have Radeon RX Vega 10 graphics.
Worldwide, it's sold with Intel UHD 620 or NVIDIA MX250 GDDR5, but here, it only comes with Radeon.
Is it worth buying it either way?

Was going to get this, settled for the Pavilion 14 and saved a few bucks. Spent those on a stick of SO-DIMM which i realized the thing can't take since it only have one, pre-occupied slot, and a 1TB SSD. Now I run around with a laptop with more than 20% of its worth being the SSD in it.
Why dont you buy Lenovo Ideapad series. They have 2TB SSD or more I think

I've been using the 15 inch version of this laptop. It's excellent overall. However, I find the laptop too heavy compared to other laptops.

They're not in the same class. The spectre is their "highest" end laptop series. the components are exactly the same, you're just paying a premium for a slightly lighter laptop, different design, and the 360 convertable option. performance is the exact same.

@@sambronstein_ I should have clarified... There isn't only one Envy and one Spectre laptop. Within the Envy lineup, there are multiple configurations. You can get an Envy with the same processor or a dedicated GPU.
Between the hp 13 envy and asus 14 vivobook which one is the best option??
Imo definitely envy 13 is better option. better quality, better battery life. But price is a bit lower on vivobook though

What even is DDR? I don't know much about computers but I heard that the higher the ram is the smoother it runs and I'm in the market to buy a laptop for video editing.. I saw one on Best buy that is the HP envy and it's a 17.5 screen and it has 12 GB ram but now I'm starting to doubt it would be good enough because you're over here talking about the DDR being whack

I have 13 inch 360 2017 model great computer for school, browsing and movies. Its plenty fast.

SSD can be upgraded but not RAM, gaming is much much better with the Nvidia MX150. Capable little machine

Not sure if it helps but I have the i7 model with 8gb RAM but last year's model, not this one. I can run SolidWorks on it now create components etc But any analysis that I do takes up all the memory on the computer so it's not enough. I'd recommend 16gb RAM
Finger scanner works best if you store the same finger multiple times, in multiple positions.

Hey I want a laptop, but I don't know which to get. Im a student so I will be carrying alot and I watch a lot of media. The Asus Zenbook models and HP Envy have really caught my eye. But I don't know whether to wait for the new Zenbook 433FA to come to my area or get this. What's really getting to me is the fact Envy has dedicated graphics. Which should I choose??

I suggest you get the HP envy. I have the same one, except that my disk has 512 GB disk space. I'm very happy with it. So I recommend that you buy it. You won't be sorry.

That dedicated mx150 gets so hot is praticaly just marketing. If you are just a student then all you want is a laptop with atleast a 1080p, 8gb ram, usb-c charging to be convenient and the dame as your phone and if you are going to type a lot than try the keyboards first cause people get used to keyboards but nothings is better than a keyboard that feels great

I'd say this as it's cheaper and would perform very similarly. I've also heard of people having issues with some software not being available on MacOs so Windows is a safer option just in case

Probably a late reply but yes. I use a usb C to HDMI adapter to connect the same laptop to my external monitor and it works perfectly.
