While the art you chose isn't my own taste- I've got to say that Vinchyart's website has literally 100's of paintings that ARE my taste! I think I might prefer art that's less free form and more ordered due to having children- they create a lot of chaos around me with toys and such- so something more grounded helps me to feel grounded. Your situation is different so your taste is different and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. I just want to stress that I honestly think that there's something to please just about anyone on thier website after browsing it- which was a lot of fun. Sadly, not in my budget right now- but I'll be keeping them in mind come tax return season and recommending them to others in the meantime. Also, loved what you did with the lighting! Really brightened the area considerably and those rechargeable sconces are super clever. Well done again as always!
Um...I would like to live in your hallway. This turned out SOOOOO good. I have been toying with the idea of putting up molding on some of my walls and color drenching a room, but haven't yet. This has inspired me.
I keep being drawn to the work you’ve done in each space. The little touches so subtle but so impactful. I like art but that’s a hard thing for me, choosing. Never thought of decorating the hallway as its own space. Well done. I’ve got those dumb boob light I hate them too.
Beautiful! But the doors on the end of the hallway need another coat of paint inside the crevices. You can notice it when you are putting the nails up for the artwork.
With things getting a bit rumbly around Southern California, this is a good place to discuss things like museum gel and other easy items to use to keep things from falling over in the event of an earthquake. Things like seismic picture hangers nailed into the studs to keep the mirror in the hallway from falling onto the floor to bookcases anchored to the walls. Even things like pots and pans on high shelves. After Northridge, people did a lot of things to prepare but in the nearly 30 years on, many have forgotten those lessons. The rule: It it is heavy, store it near the floor. That Le Creuset dutch oven is the last thing you want flying out of an overhead shelf in the kitchen.
@@DesigningTheDream89 IF you have not already, Amazon has earthquake hangers so that items hung on the wall won't jump off the hangers. Just be sure to nail the hangers into studs.

So beautiful. I love that they are 'twin' paintings, but you have to really look to see that. Great choice. Your hard work on the moldings really paid off. I'm more a "Plein Air" person for art in my house (1920s Arts and Crafts bungalow) because it works well the architecture. But I was looking through the Vinchy online catalogue and keep seeing things I really like. Appreciate the discount code.

Great job! I think you could've created the art pieces yourself. I like the contrasting art pieces as far as one being white and one black, but wondering what two white ones would've been like. I agree that the mirror looks so much better, but I would be bothered by the white in it's reflection...so I think I'd paint it the same color. And, please work on what's in the vase. Go ahead people...let me have it...we know you want to. Oh, I'm glad I didn't have to wait for this second part.
Please let us know how many times the wall sconces get bumped into (at wide shoulder height) and whether any clothes get snagged on them when you walk by
Everything can easily be undone. Just some hole filler, sandpaper, and paint- voilà! True, it’ll be a long job whenever I decide to move, but for me it’s more important that my home reflect me and where I want to be.
@@DesigningTheDream89 My goodness, it will take you a month to undo all your work! Do you think the landlord would like to keep all the improvements ? If so, would you charge him for all the materials & labor ? I really feel for you if you have to remove all that you have done. And all that re-painting!!!😥
I’m still debating, honestly. I obviously would like it when they’re closed but I don’t know if I want a dark blue door in my bedroom when it’s opened- which is 98% of the time. But I definitely welcome any input on that subject!!
@@DesigningTheDream89 the reason I ask is because I’m thinking of colored drenching my hallway in which I have 10 doors, four bedrooms, laundry room, bathroom and closets. So I don’t know what to do. Some open some always closed

Just say NO to boob lights. Those things should be outlawed. Great job with the sconces. Everyone has a TOM FORD book including me. He's make a killing on just that. Your hallway is very indicative of something that you would fine in a little Parisian apartment on the left bank. Runners are great but for the old money look, if you ever run across a somewhat moth eaten and threadbare little antique Persian for a good price, jump on it! To take any design to a higher level I always suggest that one add a few well used items with age, patina and use so that a space looks that it has evolved over time rather than something from a catalog shoot. I would love to have something like that and looked at a lot of vintage runners but most are too wide for the space. The hallway is only about 2.5” feet wide which proved challenging when finding a rug
Looks lovely, and I hope it brings you great pleasure. Just two tiny points: “obsessed” is pretty strong, and one can’t have dozens of them. Most folks don’t even have one. And my obsession is wondering why every single soul on earth has to have the cheap looking Tom Ford box? Tacky and ubiquitous. But love the re-do, and the sconces are terrific.
WOW, very hard to believe you are not formally trained in this interior design. Although THEY would have a few things to say about it, I really like it. One thing I found out by almost mistake, is that I used a ceiling light similar to yours but it is a clear diamond covered pressed glass globe, so with a CLEAR, non-frosted dimmable bulb, and it castes a diamond pattern on the ceiling and walls. I am sure that you use the vase for keys, etc, but a piece of spanish moss on the empty side, hanging would balance. I would be careful personally with adding too much primary saturated colors in further rooms, might be too much. As an artist and architect, I would have painted whatever artwork you wanted, the problem would be the shipping. What you have is fine. I see why you used the high gloss blue and it works well for me. Weird how it makes it looks bigger, WHO else has an interesting hallway? We tend to overlook this space. THANKS
The blue and green paint choices absolutely do go together, they are both deep and cool jewel tones. The brass elements are tying it all together. Not everything has to match and be the same. The hallway complements everything else in the apartment, and Justin isn't done all his renovation projects yet.
Wow factor x 10, ................ Now for a downer: Please lose the Tom Ford book. Such an overdone cliché. Here's a chance to prove your originality. Find something more unusual, more personal, more unexpected. The art is great, but break from the blk/white theme. Maybe an antique book in tan leather. IMO, something that doesn't match is stronger.
I don’t get this comment. It’s a rental and there is only so much he can do. The hallway is beautiful. It looks very elegant and high end. The materials are definitely quality. Love the sconces. Perfect.
The remodeled hallway is truly incredible🤩, thank you for completing this remodel with our artwork👍

It looks so sleek and sophisticated! Those wall sconces were a game changer, I don’t think the artwork would pop as much without them.
