- traced the schematic of this old Telefunken Tape Machine to sort out the connection between an iPad to the audio inputs. I should probably use transformers, but this was just a quick test.

I love that the bottle of hot sauce is there next to the machine. It's obviously there to help spice up the mix. lol
I had also this great thing in the 1960ies. German Tech.....
Can play the tapes of my Rockband of the 1960ies.....
I found an old Grundig and when trying it out with the old Tapes that were in the same box I was absolutely stunned how good the recording quality still is. Especially if you compare it to compact cassettes or early digital solutions.
Wow, a good old Telefunken. Great. Thumb up.

nice looking into an akai reel to reel. was that distortion from the machine or was that already in the song and not caused by tape machine
I have one of these old Telefunken Magnetophon 97 machines - is it possible to transfer reel to reel to an ipad/macbook?
kinda sorta... but you would have to rig up a special cable that connects to the 5 pin speaker output connector and run it through an adapter for line level recording to your interface on the iPad/computer.
hey Peff, to the end of clip you put your hand on the left wheel and produce a noise or effect (tape effect). make this effect in reason and put on you tube.good luck.thanks
