Yeah the filter LFO is great, lots you can do with it. I’d love to see a dedicated LFO effect that could be used on all kinds of settings, like pitch, reverb dry/wet etc. maybe in a future update
Me either. I've just logged a support ticket with Roland about labelling MERGE as a sub-function of the RESAMPLE button. Currently there's no sub-function listed there.
It’s a great addition for making synths, works great with sound gen! Also, merging other synths or melodic samples can create some incredible new sounds
Thanks for this! First I'll say that yes I did have issues with the 4.04 update. For me it was when I would resample or import a sample from my library, tho not every time. I've had no crashing issues after 4.05! Secondly, in regards to the Groove function I believe you will get better results if you BPM Sync the bank. I know that ROLL works this way, where once synced anytime you press Roll it will just sound good!
That’s good to hear about 4.05. I never had issues with 4.04 until a livestream I did after filming this video… I had that resample restart 3 times lol Gonna check out 4.05 when I get back from traveling. Regarding groove, it definitely works best when the sample has an accurate bpm set on the sp. with that said, if you’re using it for more glitch sounds, especially on ambient drones, sometimes not having the right bpm can make some interesting results as well
For sure! Definitely would be awesome to have some of the more complex button prompts be simplified, but honestly I appreciate the value they’ve given the SP by constantly adding such huge updates. Beats having to buy smaller iterations constantly.
A few months ago, BeenJamminSinceBirth theorized they were working on an SP 505 MKII or maybe a companion app. His video came out a few days before the 4.04 update.
+1 on long-term software support being the way to go. The Torso S-4 could be really cool too in a few years once they get the firmware sorted. SP-404 MKii stays relevant years later because of the continued software support. Just picked one up after wanting something less DAW-like than the MPC-X, which is also a fantastic machine, but it kinda feels too much like being on a laptop.
I hear you, I built the website myself and am still sorting out the PayPal and am currently out of the country. If you’d like to buy through PayPal though, you can email me (my email is in the about section here, or through my website contact) and I’ll send you my PayPal info to send direct to, then I’ll send you a dl code for the sheet. Cheers!
Didn't know there was an LFO on one of the effects, that's so useful, thanks!

Didn’t know about sample merge. That is great with stacking the waves 🙏

Roland should take all of the updates and just make a new machine. I think they are on to something beautiful.

The site to buy and download your cheat sheet doesn't have a PayPal payment method? (I'm not one to pay at sites with credit card info.).
