Great video lads, thanks for sharing it. It looks a great ride and experience. I watched your video on Etape Caledonia last year, so you inspired me to give it a go this year. I’m in my 60’s and come from Scotland so I’m used to steep climbs. I did it and chuffed I didn’t stop on any of the climbs especially the last one 5 miles from the finish, where you take a sharp left and hit the steep hill straight away. I was buckled after that. Sorry back to your event, well done again and look forward to your next video.👍🏻
Honestly you don’t notice it, too focused on other riders, potholes, the route and wiping the sweat from your eyes. Need to go back and just do it at a chilled out relaxed pace.
Mate, awesome video! Thats just about the perfect weather for the Fred aswell.....nice cool start, warming up a bit later...plenty of early mist for those mind blowing views! Gorgeous! Gutted about the camera dying, next year!!!!!!
Yeah wasn’t too hot and wasn’t too cold, I was worried the climbs would be really wet but I got away with it. Hardknott was very cloudy when I got there so even if the GoPro was running you wouldn’t have seen much other than a few people pushing and few people falling off 😂
@@BeardonaBike haha yeah, seen that a few times, nearly done it myself!!! 🤣 Often wish they'd run it in reverse one year as I think Blea Tarn then Wrynose in the right direction is an amazing one-two... same with Honister, always feels like a missed opportunity doing the climb from Seatoller every time... Hardknott gets too much attention for my liking.
Hahahaha love it as Paul Chaudry would say Great Wideow and yes I was out celebrating my birthday was at a Peter Kay show but il join you next year InshaAllah ❤❤❤
It might of been me shouting out to you, firstly at Ambleside were we where staying and then later on at the top of Whinlatter Pass, my daughter was doing the Fred and we were there to cheer her on 🚴♀️
It's literally just occurred to me, we bumped into you guys at the bottom of the Valparola Pass outside a cafe a day or two before the Maratona dles Dolomites in 2022. Doing Fred Whitton this year, so I'll come say hi if I see you!
Yeah I think I remember around 10:23 in this video. We didn’t get in to Fred this year unfortunately th-cam.com/video/xktaR4CE53c/w-d-xo.htmlsi=gh2ZqPisqylmj_HQ
@@BeardonaBike Ha! Yes! I think that's us leaving (recognise my mate's jersey). Shame you won't be at the Fred this year, but this, and your Hardknott video have been brilliantly useful to calm the nerves a bit. Have a subscribe.
Sorry mate missed this comment, I generally use a mouth piece or bolt it under the handlebars. Mouth piece Rena les me to hold it in my hand if I want to move it around. However can be a bit minging
In all honesty I’d say the Fred so far, it’s brutal but so well organised. You are guaranteed an epic day in the saddle and also achieve the bragging rights to say you’ve done it 💪
Honister took me by surprise and it didn’t help with there being a car burning out it’s clutch causing a massive bottleneck for people to squeeze through on the steepest section.
Brilliant video, looked spectacular popping out of the mist at the top of Kirkstone Pass! Well done BOB squad, I'm signing up for next year! 💪
Well do it all again 💪
I enjoyed watching you on this epic ride I wish I could do it I still ride at 72 David bolton

Fantastic video. Best organised sportive in the UK so much I’ve done it twice in a row. Roll on 2024 😝
Deffo up for it 2024 🙌
Well done fellas. Great job in capturing some massive scenery there. You probably didn't notice it at the time...

Fantastic Video thank you, looking at this just ahead of 2024, will you and the crew be there? Great kit
Unfortunately not we didn’t get in on the ballot.😢
Like the music! Well done Aky, the face of Stolen Goat ;-)
Cheers Stevie mate
Great vid mate xx
Glad you enjoyed
Great stuff, really enjoyed that. thank you. Keep them coming. Get back up Hardknott I wanna see that and I dare not go near!!! 👍
May even drive out just for that in the near future

Fantastic video and well done
Thank you very much Andy!
Superb video. Altaf put me onto your channel. Your description of Wrynose descent made me chuckle. I would rather climb it than descend it though!
Welcome aboard! I’m all for climbing than descending to be honest 🤣
Thanks for sharing. Them climbs looked brutal. Hope Dr. Has put some patches on his bib shorts before the Dale's trip 😂
Bring some shoe polish to colour them in 🤣
Don’t worry Kev, you just worry about not messing the inside of your BiBs when you see the Dales climbs I have in store 😂
@sherazrashid7807 I do that anyway... It's an age thing, though.

Great video and content 👌 thank you for sharing your FW experience.
Same again next year it was reality good.
Am tempted to do this after watching this video . My cuzzy did it Nasir from Preston this month may 2024 .
Get it done, it’s not that bad with all the excitement and buzz as long as you haven’t done your back in that is 😭
@@BeardonaBike oh no may Allah grant you a swift recovery ameen ya rab
Great video thanks, I’m doing it in a few weeks. I’ll video it for my channel too!
Good luck today pal!
Great video and ride mate - shame I didn't see you on the ride, although you were probably well ahead of me!
See you on next years 😜
Fantastic video and well done to yo.u all😊
Thank you so much 😁
That looked like a proper tough ride mate….chapeau 👌
Proper but when you’re from the North it’s just another day in the office 🤣

Great video! Just finished Maratona and your video from 2022 really helped. What do you use to hold the GoPro?

Mate…loved this vid. Top effort👌
Thanks a ton!
Great vid shame about hardknott .but still great 👍 thanks
Been back just to ride Hardknott again and film it, watch this space
Have you got the 100 climbs app . I’m going October to give it a go 🤞
How much holiday do you all have since you can meet up so often all together? its pretty cool
Not enough to be honest, everything in the UK is done on a weekend in most cases.
Honister Pass is so brutal!
I was shocked near the top 🤣
Like it you thought Holbeck Ghyll was Kirkstone so early on :-)
Like I said should have starred the segments, didn’t help nobody else knew where we were either 🤣
Looks cracking. What’s the best sportive you’ve done in the UK?
In all honesty I’d say the Fred so far, it’s brutal but so well organised. You are guaranteed an epic day in the saddle and also achieve the bragging rights to say you’ve done it 💪
you were always about 10miles ahead of the route :-)
Great video what was your time ?
I have no idea and wasn’t trying for a time, I’d have liked to have another go but didn’t get in this year.
@@BeardonaBike lol I never want to do it ever again 🤣🤣
Cold fell was where the most and fog was
I thought so because it Fell Cold 🤣
I found honister pass harder than hard knot. All hardknott was the steep start then that steep corner
