I thought that all the pianos despite some differences seemed to be basically on the same level and wondered what this test was about until I heard the Grotrian Steinway at 4:14 min. A complete new world!
I have to be honest, now that I try more and more upright and grand pianos. I've come more and more to appreciate the Schimmels sound. For a good price the Schimmel produces a great sound, that can well be compared to many grand pianos. I know the keys have a hight ressictence and grand pianos usually just feel better overall. But the sound....! However if I was offert a grand piano and a Schimmel the chances are hight I would take the grand piano, because of the feeling. But still, well tuned Schimmel awesome sound. Btw. I am only reffering to the Schimmel upright Pianos.
I get the sense that the miking is not completely consistent. That said, the Blüthner has a fascinating personality. Otherwise, the Grotrians beat everything else unless you really like the smooth surface of the best Schimmel models.
The upright Schimmel is really beaututiful. Pure sound.
Very beautiful performance, I play on my own Schimmel c 121 and I love it.

I HAVE A SCHIMMEL PIANO!! one...very beautiful!!
Like # 100. This is a delight both visually and to the ear. Thank you!
Great video ! You have so much awesome uprights right there ! (But the Grotrian 192...it's the piano of my dreams) And a very talented pianist too :)
Grotrian grands.... great all the way, but that Blüthner was great too ;)
I think all these uprights have top notch traits in tone quality.

Blüthner! But with patent or roller action? It was in the 1920s they changed I believe.
Blüthner 😍😍😍

I still keep Schimmel at home...
All of them seemed very bright (to me).

I prefer the sound of the Grotrian Steinweg, lovely tone
It has that glockenspiel tone. I don't know how else to say.
