Cam there is somebody that can relate to you with all your money. All ministers get empty and need someone to pour into them as well. We are not an island on our own. There's always somebody somewhere that you can lean on and and get strength and knowledge from.

    Amazing convo & Testimony ❤🙌🏾!!! Really appreciate Pastor John Gray Transparency & Vulnerability. It’s wonderful seeing Young men/women navigate thru their Childhood trauma. I’m a firm believer that We Can’t Heal What We Don’t Reveal. Also I’m a Sexual abuse/physical abuse survivor an lemme tell you that trauma stuck with me for years . Now that I’m 33 I’ve been in therapy for 6 years an must admit it helped a great deal. Let’s start normalizing therapy & it’s okay to not be okay . My calling now I feel is to help inspire/encourage others by sharing my story. I’m in the Mental health field. But when I was sexually abused I turned to Sex/ alcohol 🍷. By the grace of God I’m glad I’m still here

    This pastor is the first person I have heard admit that when you sexually abuse a child, it greatly determines their sexuality.

    • @michelewalker2473
      @michelewalker2473 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @kerima abu it can determine your sexuality in some cases in my case I didn't get molested till the age of 11 I can recall from the age of 6 having a same sex attraction so yes it all depends on the individual.

    • @noble604
      @noble604 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I believe Donnie McClurkin and Tyler Perry talked about it, too. DonnieM was molested by an uncle and cousin. This started for him at about age 8, I think. I think the uncle also molested Donnie’s sisters. Donnie said how confusing it was for him as it was his first sexual experience. I think Tyler Perry said his “body betrayed” him in that molestation, in that, he was confused by the sexual feelings he had from being molested and what it meant for his sexuality. (For better reference of where this was said, there is “The Donnie McClurkin Story,” a documentary on Donnie McClurkin, and Tyler Perry’s interview on molestation on Oprah.)

    • @noble604
      @noble604 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      ⬆️ fyi ... TylerP said in that interview that he was sexually abused by three men and a woman in his childhood. This caused him confusion.😓

    • @kerimaabu1359
      @kerimaabu1359 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@noble604 I know, because sex is far more complex and involving than the media expresses it to be, Sex is a spiritual, emotional and physical involvement, and on those three different levels a person can be TOTALLY destroyed. The fact is you must be very, very careful who touches it. The pastor is battling with the spiritual aspect of the sex that he was exposed to.

    • @noble604
      @noble604 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      kerima abu - Yes, it is. Sadly, since it’s not uncommon, more and more people have come out and openly discussed their own experiences of sexual abuse and their sexuality. I remember ... QueenLatifah, Don Lemon, a football player Laverneus (sp?) Coles and Monique ... There are those who talk about it from the spiritual point of view, such as Pastor Donnie McClurkin and the impact it had on his belief in God and negative view of himself as well as Tyler Perry who wrestled with his own sexuality and others talk about it and the impact it had on their whole life, like Monique. All of their accounts are worth listening to for anyone interested in more on the topic. Sadly, there are so many stories.

    While I appreciate the dialogue, the fact is this: trauma is in the experience and the body. My spirit leaped to hear my brothers verge on parts, we all have internal parts. Some are born with them and other parts develop as a result of what happens to us. Some call them ego states. Pastor spoke eloquently about the wounded young part in exile being protected by managers within. I also appreciated the implications of trauma informed flashbacks /dissociation. Trauma response does require body work to move trauma thru the system towards healing. Emotional, physical, and soul injuries matatisize as inner wounds that can be healed thru appropriate care by God's grace. Thanks for putting face on trauma engaging the universality of pain. Our community is suffering and healing follows awareness. Thanks for using your platform spiritually to support community. Our stories are necessary by us for us. We have got to have these conversations with intentionality to support communal healing. So many of our woundedness and burdening is communal much like our collective healing. This becomes spirituality in my summation. I aways welcome these dialogues and testimonials thus providing increased hope towards restoration and expansion. Abundant love and radical healing is what's up. Blessings & Grace. Yep, licensed clinician here basking in how far mental health has come in our community. We are dismantling the stigmas around our best health! Good job brothers.

      Many have been molested as well. A lot of churches are safe spaces for dirty secrets.
